i think i'm going to make a complaint about the shops not all having the same criteria regarding returns of the recall goods because our toysrus will not help at all and i know i bought the limoscene there last summer, the house of style was from argos christmas before last and they are not interested either has anyone had any joy with argos in other regions?

You will have to send them back to Matell if they are used, im in the process of sending 3 sets back, im only sending the bits with magnets on and keeping the rest of the sets for her to play with, this was ok according to the advisor.
  • I was told I could swap with Matell for any toy of any value on the list. Am guessing by everyone elses responses though that this is not the case. I was really please that I was allowed to swap my jewellary maker (7.99) for a Dora talking kitchen (79) but am not presuming I was advised wrongly. They said to me you choose one item per toy returned. Have already posted back the toy and my request for the kitchen so not sure what happend next.
:T Benjamin has won!!! Am soooo proud. Thank you to everyone who agreed my baby was the cutiest. Want to go round and hug everyone who voted, it means so much to me!:A

Kool-mama, you may be lucky and still get your kitchen but the Mattel letter reads "Select a product from the Alternatives List at the same retail price as the recalled product". It sounds like you were given incorrect advice but who knows what will happen! :)

On the letter it says you can choose items up to the retail value of the toy's returned, i ve sent 3 toys back but chosen 6 items to replace them as that comes to the same value.

My letter does not mention making any choice from the list at all or how much my item cost.
My letter was from Alison Chance and basically had four paragraphs, (1 - apology, 2 - how important safety is to them, 3 - return the item and 4 - thank you for contacting us.
That is why I phoned them up to check as I just had a large catalogue with about 100 items to choose from and no details of how I should make my choice.
Guess I will wait for a letter telling me not to be so cheeky then!!
    Thanks for your help.

I'm still waiting for my letter. How long did everyone wait for the pre-paid labels and catalogue?
