Does the list specify batch numbers etc? Quite reasonable to assume it is only certain batches since 01/05/07 and production was ok before that even for the same toys. If the recall list doesn't specify dates or batch numbers then it'd be safe to presume you should return anything on that list rather than taking the word of CS over the phone.

The online list states product reference numbers whatever they mean. I'll wait for the list, but unless it states anything specific i.e dates etc I am going to assume that my dd's "Snow cool hotel" from Xmas 05 counts too.

Better to be safe than sorry of course and you should definitely operate to the letter of the list you get. But as far as I'm aware this is only a recent issue with one specific factory (for the lead in paint problem). It's a shame the factory boss has taken his own life over it as the factory was missold the paint as "lead free" themselves.

Did you get full price what you paid, or what was on there system ?
  • I had a snow cool hotel and they handed me 25.00 cash - nothing to sign & no receipt. There was a list of toys they had sold behind the cs desk and were paying out immediately on all.

do you know if sainsburys sold the house of style? or the limoscene? !!worth a try i suppose as argos and toysrus where i got them wont help at all they just give you the mattel number which you cant get through and if you do it is a man doing recorded message telling you to ring a number which then takes you freephone to new york who then tell you to ring another number which gets you back where you started with the man giving out the new york number! today i got my label to return and list of goods to swap it for and surprise surprise there is nothing on it we want nothing same value as what weve got they are all smaller toys sets and not much choice at all! any one else having same trouble? looks like well be swapping polly house of style for a pixel chick! nothing like what we bought and buying another polly set for christmas!(so they effectively make money out of us again buying another big polly set to replace the lost one!)typical its the companys mistake but if they offer different toys replaced youll probably go out and pay for another similar to the the one that went wrong anyway!

Yes i agree the list or replacements is crap to say the least , very limited in choice.

Not sure why its so small as they sell thousands of different toys.

I have a Theme Park one thats not been opened , anybody know where i can return it for a refund or girtcard ?

My dd had 2 Polly Pocket sets on the recall list - about £50 worth according to the RRP - but didn't fancy much on the replacement list. I took the sets back to ToysRUs, they checked that they had sold them and what price they had been. They then gave us £30 credit to spend in store. DD chose 2 Disney games for her Nintendo PLUS 2 small Polly Pocket sets for the £30. Much better than what she would have got direct from Mattel (plus the new PP sets take up less space than the returned items!!)
