This is a great thread, have been sat reading it all night lol.
We're off to DLP in 13 sleeps (as the children say). All booked up and organised. We're flying in to CDG and planning to take the TGV to Marne la Vallee. I just wondered if anyone has actually had any experience of this? I know a lot of people on here have mentioned it, but there doesn't seem to be many people recommending it. Everyone seems to recommend the VEA which takes an awfully lot longer.
If anyone has got experience of the TGV, I was just wondering how easy it is? We're travelling with 3 children 6, 4 and 8 months. The 6 year old gets travel sickness very easily so after a 2 hour flight, we don't really want to put her on a bus for the best part of an hour, especially in June, I would imagine it would be quite hot and stuffy, adding to the risk of sickness.
We're not planning on taking a buggy, only a baby carrier for the 8 month old. And we're planning on having 1 suitcase and 2 smaller bags between the 5 of us. Do you think it's do-able?
Thanks for any help.Started comping 29/10/2010

and drive there using my tesco vouchers to pay for eurotunnel
Have you looked at the ferry instead of the euro tunnel, it worked out alot cheaper for us, no problems and the kids could run around/ eat.0 -

Here is the timetable, and it looks straightforward, and quick

Be wary of these timetables - I went last year on a later flight hoping to catch the tgv after checking online, but when I arrived at the train terminal (after working my way from the furthest terminal to get there) there was no such train at that time, and the next one was about 3 hours later! ordinary train is too much of a hassle - have to change twice I think. Ended up getting a taxi which cost about £50 I think. I would take a taxi before the bus which would have cost us well over £30, and takes about 20 min more:beer:0 -

Thanks for that. Not sure how a taxi would work for us though as there are 5 of us and then obviously with the driver, it would have to be a large taxi, not sure if the taxi's are normal cars or what? I guess that would probably be easier as there would be no lugging the suitcases round with the kids. I wasn't going to go with the timetable though, just use it as a rough guide and actually check the times when we get to the station. We're quite lucky that we fly in to terminal 2F anyway, so the station is right outside from what I can tell.Started comping 29/10/2010

My only previous trip to DLP was pre-Easter and we didn't queue for anythingand the weather was really kind to us. I was slightly alarmed at the sight of the barriers to be used at busier times - they were likes snakes of despair trailing off into the distance!!
DW ( 8 days 'til we go! :j )Blessed are the vegetarians.0 -

You can get taxis/shuttle busses for up to 8 passengers, look in this thread for ways of pre-booking, but i'm sure you could hire on the day. Could anyone confirm this please as I am travelling this summer in a party of 7, and was wondering if it's better to pre book or find it on the day:beer:0 -

I decided against the train because I couldn't bring myself to pay the rather expensive price for a 10 minute journey (prices depend on day and time and our time was expensive) and we weren't in a hurry but as it happens we found the station (downstairs if I remember correctly) before we found where the bus stop was!
The taxis are in the main people carriers so plenty of room but.... if you just pick one up that is touting for business they will try and put as many people in as possible as happened to some people who were on the same flight as us, they said they were really crammed in.
If you have pre-booked the driver will be waiting on you as you come out of arrivals with a sign but you'll also find loads of drivers there touting for business and also at the exit doors and beside the Disney coach bus. Don't pay more than the Disney price of 17 Euros and 13 Euros for kids 3 - 11, if anything haggle them down. For return journey, if you are staying onsite, I'd go with the Disney coach as it comes right to the door of your hotel and reception will give you the times of departure.0
