Thanks a lot. Another thing that puts me off about a taxi though is that there wont be any car seats? Is this right? Would I have the option of hiring them? I don't think it would be a problem for our 6 and 4 year olds, but I wouldn't want to travel without our 8 month old in a car seat, especially as I know how the europeans tend to drive
Cost wise I don't really think there's a lot in it, £14 I think which I wouldn't mind paying if it wasn't going to be too much extra hassle.
Did you fly from Edinburgh? If so, was the train station and bus stops easy to find when you get off the flight? Would it be easy enough to walk with 3 kids and the suitcase/bags? Sorry millions of questions here lol, I'm tempted to just wait and see what seems easier when we get there, but I would much much rather be organisedEdinburghlass wrote: »I decided against the train because I couldn't bring myself to pay the rather expensive price for a 10 minute journey (prices depend on day and time and our time was expensive) and we weren't in a hurry but as it happens we found the station (downstairs if I remember correctly) before we found where the bus stop was!
The taxis are in the main people carriers so plenty of room but.... if you just pick one up that is touting for business they will try and put as many people in as possible as happened to some people who were on the same flight as us, they said they were really crammed in.
If you have pre-booked the driver will be waiting on you as you come out of arrivals with a sign but you'll also find loads of drivers there touting for business and also at the exit doors and beside the Disney coach bus. Don't pay more than the Disney price of 17 Euros and 13 Euros for kids 3 - 11, if anything haggle them down. For return journey, if you are staying onsite, I'd go with the Disney coach as it comes right to the door of your hotel and reception will give you the times of departure.Started comping 29/10/2010

I'm sure the taxi's would be a lot easier. The only things putting me off are the travel sickness issue and I'm sure it will be warm in June, adding to the problem and also the thought of travelling with 8 month old without a car seat. I'm guessing I would have to pay extra for this, if the option is there at all. Which means cost wise, it is probably six and half a dozen. It's just convenience, but as I've never been I don't know what to expect from any modes of transport, what works for one doesn't always work for another, so I'm tempted just to play by ear and see what seems easiest for us when we get there.
I wasn't keen on pre-booking anything in case of flights being delayed or anything like that. You can get taxis/shuttle busses for up to 8 passengers, look in this thread for ways of pre-booking, but i'm sure you could hire on the day. Could anyone confirm this please as I am travelling this summer in a party of 7, and was wondering if it's better to pre book or find it on the dayStarted comping 29/10/2010

I flew Flybe from Edinburgh and I found CGD a nightmare to find our way out of despite being in the right terminal, but that might just have been me, we were up and down the same staircases/lifts I don't know how many timesThen, as previously posted, the Disney coach was non-existent so we shared a taxi with another family.
Presumably if you book a taxi you can ask for a car seat, check this thread for recommendations http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1004423 but do remember you won't get a car seat on the Disney coach.
I think, if I was doing it again, I would pre-book a taxi to take us there and the Disney coach for return or having found the train I would maybe try that! Where are you staying, when are you going and have a look at the above website for lots of info and tips on where to eat and what to do and see and most of all, enjoy!0 -

Well at least I know to expect chaos at CDG. We're flying with Air france but presumably all flights from Edinburgh will arrive at a similar part of the airport.
How many kids did you have with you?
As you already know I've been having a look on the site you recommended. It's great eh? Loads of useful information :j
We're going on 5th of June, staying at the Cheyenne for 5 nights/6 days.
How long would you say it took you to get through baggage and find your way out of the airport once you'd landed then?
If I pre-booked a taxi, do you know if I'd get charged if the flight was delayed? Think I might end up just winging it to be honest and see what seems easiest when we land.Edinburghlass wrote: »I flew Flybe from Edinburgh and I found CGD a nightmare to find our way out of despite being in the right terminal, but that might just have been me, we were up and down the same staircases/lifts I don't know how many timesThen, as previously posted, the Disney coach was non-existent so we shared a taxi with another family.

You and the kids will enjoy it, lots of outdoor play areas for the kids.

We had someone take ill during the flight so on landing had to wait on the Fire Department medic team to come onboard and take her off in an ambulance so I've no idea really on how long. My problem was just finding the way to the correct level.

Any delays will be built into the price charged so don't worry about that as the driver will be keeping an eye on any delays. The link to the Disboards tells you what and where which flights land.0 -

As far as I know you have to do it by public transport.
Look at this websites
http://www.seat61.com/Paris-metro.htm#Metro%20routes%20from
http://www.ratp.fr/
You can do it by metro and it will take about 1hr.
Gare du Nord to
Chatelet Les Halles
CLH to Marne La Vallee Chessy
There are buses outside of the station which take you straight to the Disneyland hotels including the Holiday Inn.0 -

Friends of mine have stayed there and say it was great. He used to work in the hotel trade and this was the hotel that they chose. The only criticism was that the buses to the Disneyland Park did not run as frequently as they would have liked.
