Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Thinking of taking the kids early next year (they will be 9, 8 & 4).
Have done a search & because we'll need a room for 5 they only hotel suitable is the Disneyland hotel which comes in approx. £1,000 than 4 people in some of the other hotels!
Would like to be 'on-site' but dont' need anything fancy & able to walk a bit.
Any suggestions - is it possible to get a camp bed in some of the other hotels/
Will start reading back through this thread, but i may be some time......
    Now proud Mumto3 :j

If you want to be onsite and you are not driving to DLP, both the Santa Fe and the Newport Bay Club hotels have family rooms, as well as the Disneyland Hotel. You might find that booking 2 rooms and asking for them to be interconnecting would work out cheaper. You can't have a camp bed in any of the hotel rooms for 4 - 4 is the absolute maximum occupancy.

If you are driving to DLP, the Davy Crockett Ranch takes up to 6 guests in a cabin, and is classed as onsite accommodation, although its a short drive away (no shuttle buses from here to the parks).

If you want close to the resort, but not onsite, there are 4 partner hotels, and the Explorers hotel has a room layout which would give you a standard room for 4, plus a bunk-bedded room, which connects. This hotel is served by a free shuttle bus which runs all day and evening, every 20 minutes, between the hotel and the parks, and the journey is only about 5 minutes or so.

Going thursday , by eurostar from ashford, staying at the hotel cheyenne. Me , dh and dd aged 4. Have booked cafe Mickey. Getting excited :D

Me and dh went 10 years ago on a bus trip and stayed in the hotel cheyenne, we were in our early 20's and childless. There was no disney studios then.

So think it will be a bit different this time :j:j:j

Have a fab time Vicki :D.
  • Hi again guys,

We won a 2 night holiday to dlp so we booked it for 7th march 2012, however after much deliberation and heartache for the kids we wont be able to afford to go. :( Even though we won the holiday we still have to pay for travel of course. We will have to buy passports though so that is £255, eurostar is £93 pp! (flights are cheaper however once transfers are factored in its not much different) Train journey to eurostar is £200 in total.

So that's £827 before we've even got there!

And being only 9 weeks after christmas we just cant manage it. :( Id have to find £255 for the passports in the first couple of weeks of jan so we'd get them back in time.

so my question is how can I sell this holiday? I don't want a lot for it at all as it was free, but I would like enough to be able to take the kids to a cheap weekend in a caravan. The operator has said I can transfer the names at a price of £25 pp so it's going to cost them potentially £100 on top......its the sequoia lodge and breakfast and tickets are included though.

I'd put it on ebay if I were you, with a full description of whats included in the tickets.

Such a shame you can't manage to go, but you're right, with passports, flights, transfers etc it would be an expensive "free" holiday ;).

eta - just checked the DLP booking site, that hotel for those dates currently sells for around £400.
  • thanks Balletshoes :)

Just sold it to a friend on facebook for £200
