Anyone have any idea when July 2012 is likely to be released - all this talking makes me desperate to get plans sorted ! We were going to do florida but think we'll stick to Paris for another year until boys are a bit older! Just can't imagine the heat in florida - too much for them !
I think it was October last year they released summer dates - is this right?

I've been by coach, long long time ago. I guess it depends whereabouts you're going from - we went from South Wales and it was like the longest journey ever. Going wasn't too bad because you've got the anticipation of getting there, but I thought we'd never get home. Took us best part of a day either way, and I swore I'd never do such a long coach trip again. But of course, the benefit is that it is the cheapest way to get there.

On the up side, our driver took us into Paris one evening (he wasn't supposed to but he did!) and we went on the river trip. It was great. I don't really "get" Paris so it was enough for me to just see the main sights, have a burger in McDonalds on the Champs Elysses (sp) and then back to DLP.

And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end

if you have a car you could drive yourself to DLP, that would be cheaper than a coach trip if there are more than a couple of you going I would think. You can book a Paris coach tour when you are there.

Hi, I went by coach this year. The company are called mline, they were brill. They only pick up from Scotland and the North of England, dont know if this would suit you. We travelled to Hull then an overnight cabin to Zeebrugge. Had two days at Disney, Paris city tour and an afternoon in Brugge on the way home. I dont like flying so it was ideal for us. The company were really good to deal with and I am thinking of booking for next year again. HTH

We went by car in Feb this year and found it was great to be able to load our estate up to the roof with luggage, especially as we have a baby!

I would encourage anyone who is on a budget to think about staying half-board. We paid an extra £21 per adult and £18 (I think) for our 7 year old, but in my opinion I think it was worth it. We knew in advance we weren;t going to run out of money, we had the choice of over 7 restaurants through the whole site including hotels to eat from. The best value we found was at the all you can eat buffets, my husbands eyes just lit up!!! But best of all, because we were half board we could book our table at the restaurant of our choice every night. They get very busy between 6 and 7.30pm, but as we had booked we could just skip the queue which was great.

Hotel we stayed at - Hotel Cheyenne - was a good budget hotel, but I emphasise the word budget! If we were going again I might treat ourselves and go for a three star or something. All hotels have a shuttle bus and they are pretty prompt.

anyone can book tables at any restaurant at DLP, whether you have half board vouchers or not (or indeed whether you are staying onsite or not).

another way to budget for your meals, instead of using half board vouchers, is to put the same amount of money you would give to Disney for your half board vouchers, onto a prepay travelcard (like the Post Office one) and then you still have your money put aside in advance, and you have the full flexibility of all the restaurants/counter service venues at DLP to choose from ;).

  • We're going next June. We've booked for the Monday but I'm actually thinking of going on the Direct service on the Sunday and just booking a night in a hotel on the Sunday and checking in early Monday morning to the hotel that we've booked on site and get an earlier start. I've had a look at two hotels- the Val d'elysee or the magic explorer. One is £75 I think and the other was £140. The children will be four and five. I thought that the Explorers might be nice as it's got a swimming pool or the Elysee because of being near the shops and the aquarium. Does anyone have experience of these. I don't really mind which price we go for as we were going to stay in London overnight and pay £105 for a hotel there. Thanks for any advice!
