  • Thank you both so very much @blue_monkey and @balletshoes for your very fast and informative replies!

The 3 hotels listed are the 3 choices that we were given from the organiser of the trip. We live in Northern Ireland (I'm American) and haven't been told of the exact flight arrangements, but there is talk that we might fly out through Dublin.

I'm so excited that we've finally taken the plunge and decided to go. It'll be my kids first time at any Disney park (8 old twins, boy&girl, son autistic with severe learning difficulties, daughter neurotypical), and our first family holiday together ever.

Thanks again for helping to make our holiday special and stress-free.
  • Thanks to you too, @jog for your wisdom. I am indeed aware of the provision Disney has made for guests with disabilities. If it weren't for that, it'd be a no-go for us.

That's good to know about Explorers. I'll pass it on to our group just to make sure they're aware of room accomodation size.

(Such lovely people here. Thanks again!)

No worries maom, I know where you are coming from, likewise there is no way we ould consider it either. In fact, Disney and Butlins are the only places we go on holiday - DS feels safe there so it's pretty stress free. The passes at DLP work in the wame way they do at Chessington in that you get a time if the queue is more than half an hour, and then you come back. But unlike Chessington you can ride the ride as much as you want.

I too preferred SL as it is cheaper than HNY and it is more homely. The HNY has full length windows in the room (floor to celing) and I could not relax at all while there and it is just so BIG and spacious, my son just was not comfortable there. The room was average sized to be fair, the same as any other. We are going to go to Santa Fe because of the theming, my son will love it - we rarely eat at hotels so that is not an issue.

Does your son have an Elite Major? If so I'd recommend taking it (especially for the first time) as it can get very busy and the major gives my son some 'space' around him where people cannot touch him, there are designated places for disabled people to watch the parades if you have a Guest Assistance Pass to sit so there are not people around them, otherwise there can be some shoving and pushing and my son gets really freaked out by people around him and touching him and god forbid if they push him out of the way for a better look. Sometimes they let the rest of the family in, sometimes not (if there are 20 of you I guess it would just be the child and 1 carer, but this helps as DD is usually quite good at getting herself a space where she can see (with some manipulation by me, LOL)

My husband and I are taking our 3 year old son to DLP in a couple of week time. We are staying at the Cheyenne and I was considering booking a dinner at Cafe Mickey, can this be booked in advance online and any idea on how much it costs? Or are there alternatives so that we can dine with the characters?!
    Thanks

If you are going in a couple of weeks time, you'll be fine to book a table at Cafe Mickey at your hotel reception when you arrive, or at City Hall in the main park on your first day :). Its an a la carte menu, so can cost as little as around 15 euros for a main, up to around 30 euros if you want 3 full courses. Kids set menu at Cafe Mickey is around 16 euros. You can also order pizza etc to share, this is fine and the character interaction is exactly the same whatever your order to eat.

For value for money, I do think Cafe Mickey is best for a character meal - its very popular for dinner, but they also do character lunch between noon and 2.45pm each day, which is usually quieter and so your son may get more character time :).

There are other character meal options too- tea party at the Cowboy Cookout, Inventions buffet in the Disneyland Hotel, Sunday brunch at the steakhouse in the Village, Princess meal at the Auberge de Cendrillon. If you have a look on DLRPfoodguide it will give you some idea of the menus etc.

    Thanks so much balletshoes.
    I have one other question:

I am booking through the French website the tickets for BBWWS, but I don't know whether we would get away with passing our 3 year old off as an under 3 (he's not very big)? Obviously he wouldn't get a meal but he wouldn't like the menu anyway and would just probably pick at our wedges/bread etc...

Is it worth the risk, do they ask for proof of age?

    Many Thanks

I don't know about asking for proof of age - but if you don't pay for a ticket for him at BBWWS, he doesn't get a seat, so you may find he's sitting on a lap for the entire evening.

:) yeah that's not so much of a problem but will think a bit more about what to do. Thanks.

I went to DLP last November with my friend but only spent one day their in the Disney Park. I really want to go back and spent only 2 days with my family next June. I want we can discover all the places including the Disney village and the studio as well. Do you think 2 days are enough for the park, studio? Because we are foreigners so I want to take my family to some places in Paris as well so it's very difficult for me because they only visit me for 6 days.

Last time I went to DLP but only have time to play games in Orange color in the Map and some games at Adventure place, but I had to spent much time waiting for it? Anybody has some suggestion of playing most of the games in this map in one day because we have 5 people, 3 adults and 2 child 4 years old and 11 years old (because we want to spend another day for the studio and so on).
  • Hi, does anyone know any good deals for tickets for Eurodisney. I know theres the 4 days for the price of three etc. The cheapest i have found is a company called travel republic, 2 parks for 4 days Adult £116.00 Child £104. Can this be beaten??
Also i know carers go in free but is there a discount for the disabled person, i seem to remember last time we went there was, but i can't remember how much.
    thanks
