Disneyland Paris/EuroDisney - Questions & Answers

Cheapest is definitely ferry, autoroute and staying off site. Going on the Eurostar Disney train attracts a huge premium. We're going in April, staying in Newport Bay 4 night/5days, half board, for £978 + £120 Eurotunnel + £37 AA Breakdown + £37 Annual travel insurance. Disney quoted us just under £2k for the Eurostar! The man without a signature.0

We either want a 3 or 4 day trip with at least one day's worth of tickets for 2 adults and 1 child.
I don't really mind how we get there and am happy to stay at a Siblu or similar park, I just need to get it as cheaply as possible.
I have around £75 in Tesco vouchers that can be converted into deals and have priced up the trip with Siblu and for a ferry crossing, 3 days at la Croix de Vieux point (or whatever it's called!) site near disney, inc one day disney tickets it's just over £400, which I think is ok? I think I'd have to put around £100 to the vouchers. I realise though that we would have to factor in quite a lot of petrol money and of course food..
Can anyone suggest a cheaper/alternative method of doing this? We can fly from any North West airport and would stay at a hotel/b&b if this worked out better/cheaper?
any help appreciated...

we have stayed there twice ,its lovely
theres one closer to Disney ,called Les Etangs Fleuris 25 mins away ( not available with siblu, but frenchlife using deals) Holiday needs to be £500 + though http://www.frenchlife.co.uk/uce/fl?lang=en&action=qsearch&fromPage=home¤cy=26®ion=Ile-de-France+and+Paris&countryId=23&propertyTypeId=4®ionId=1988&sleeps=4&go.x=8&go.y=16
we found www.speedferries.com to be very reasonable for ferry, athough when we go in Aug we are using tesco deals to pay for Eurotunnel0 -
Edinburghlass wrote: »Don't do the travel via the Disney official site as their prices are horrendous! Best way is to price up all your options via Expedia and also price your travel yourself and accommodation via Disney direct. We were there over Christmas and in fact I couldn't get accommodation via Disney direct but I could via Expedia and traveled with Flybe, the flights with Expedia were pretty much similar as I had priced myself.
As you have a bit of time before you plan to go what you can do is become a Disney shareholder and with just 5 shares you can join the shareholders club for 30 Euros for two years and you will get a 10% discount on your accommodation at Disney and also discount in the restaurants and shops! The cost of the shares including your fees is only in the region of £45 so not a lot of money for good discounts.
You'll find out the ins and outs of that on the DisBoards as poppyolivia has said or let me know if you want further details.
Edinburghlass,
I looked into the Shareholders club a while back but was advised that you need to have at least 500 shares (I think they are around 8 euros each at the momentso 4000 euros+) and pay a 30 euro membership fee that lasts for two years.
The benefits you get also are not as good than if you paid for a annual passport - The dream passport is 179 euros and this includes admission for one person every day for a year and other money off offers as per the link below:

Hi,
I want to buy an annual passport for my family of three for a 5 day trip to disneyland paris in july 2008.can anyone answer the following please:
If i buy a one day tickets in order to get to the annual passport office, do i get that money refunded?
Can i use the passport for the five consecutive days? (sounds daft but i am sure i read something somewhere that i could not.!)
Is there anyone out there with a annual passport who could kindly sponsor me so i can get some money off?
Thanks in advance for your help.0 -
I have a good deal (i think!- 438 (this is to be split 3 ways- me & m parents- hannah goes free!) for accomodation & passes- this includes breakfast- then its 60 return on eurostar direct to disney) Im 10 pounds short of booking it (hopefully will book this friday!) The only other thing im thinking about is spends- i know everyone says its really expensive (having been to Paris before i know its dear) but just wondered how much money people took? We are going from Monday till Thursday (because of the times of the trains we will be there all that time too!) Thanks in advance! Now im debt free i want to be fat free too!0

Yes you can make sure they are one day tickets (specifically ones which have been paid for not package tickets)- as they will not refund anything more than this, alternatively go to guest relations (go to right of the main entrance ticket booths) and just buy the ticket outright at the park on the day you wish it to start, then swap the paper ticket for the proper annual pass at the passport office in the park that day.

Three types of passports :
Dream 179Euro's (365 days access, discounts, entry to Extra Magic Hours)
Fantasy 129Euro's (335 days access, less discounts)
Francilien 89Eur's (300 days access, even less discounts)
http://www.dlrpmagic.com/guides/practical/annualpassports/
Francilien passport cannot be used on the two days following its initial purchase, so if you enter the park on a Monday and get the Francilien it will not work on the Tuesday and Wednesday. Dream and Fantasy work every day.

Happy to sponsor your or anyone else drop me a pm, if you don't know what sponsorship does it give you 10% off the above prices.
Thanks an existing annual passport holder.0 -
Have read most of this thread....Really helpful, so thanks
I've booked everything for end of Feb, but would now like to book insurance and the menu pluto tokens. Does anyone know how to buy the tokens? I've booked with diamond holidays btw
And any advice with the insurance, as I've never bought before
TIA :j0 -
Well to answer one of my questions
The cheapest insurance quote I've found for 2 adults and 2 children is Adsa for £27.20. Don't think I'm going to find cheaper than that
Still can't find how to buy the menu pluto tokens though!0 -

we allowed £100 day for food for our family of 4. breakfast was included at our hotel, so that was one expense already covered (also make up some rolls/take some extra pain au chocolats for mid morning snack). a Mcds style burger/chips/drink in the park cost us over £20. with a sit down burger meal coming in at about £70
however one day we had booked the character afternoon tea at plaza gardens, which costs £9 a person, and this meant we didnt need an evening meal on top, as we were so full - so that saved a bit of money that day
best to take lots of snacks with you (they dont check bags here like they do in the USA), as crisps are expensive in the park (but cheaper in the disney hotel shops for some reason). also take an empty bottle with you, are there are water fountains around the park that you can keep refilling at. we even took a flask and tea/coffee with us, as that saved a bit more money too
however if you booked direct through Disney, you can buy meal tokens in advance, which means you dont have to worry about the cost of food once you arrive.
