yes as said above, the do check bags, but not for food. in the US they remove all food/drink from your bags, so you are forced to buy theirs

Thanks for that EL, not so bad as we had to pay so much to get to AShford and stay overnight so still evens out the cost. Do you know where you have to book? Mind you, still might be just as cheap then to get a cab to St Pancreas and go from there. Just trying to get out of driving to and from Ashford - nothing worse than having been on your feet all day and then stuck on that train (it was so hot last time that DS was sick everywhere) and then having to drive all the way home. I thought flying might be better.

Are there any flights from Stansted I don't know about as Stansted is nearer for us.

I would second that about the food. We went in November and on the last day our bag was full of it but they never took it from us.

That being said, we went to WDW in Florida in January and people were taking their own food in to all of the parks. We had some snack bits with us in the bag and it was never confiscated although they checked.
  • if you stay in the Disney Hotels then you get free admission for your entire stay and also it is walking distance so you don;t have to pay to park the car (I know we stayed in Explorers and the wait for the bus sould be 45 minutes at times). Consider this when staying outside the park as it can make a difference. would stay Disney again just for the convenince and it is not as expensive as you think. We paid £354 for 3 nights/4 days and that included admission.

If you are going for the character tea book well in advance, we could not get in and went in one of the quiet times.

the Ratatouille buffet is a wste of money and it was vile for the money we paid!!

The food was vile tbh and found that the hotel did a 'bod standard' ham baguette for 5 euros where as everywhere else they put loads of stuff in the food and I remember paying 35 Euros for some food from the Deli in disney Village and it went straight in the bin after one bite. Urgh!!

Rainforest Cafe is expensive but a must and part of the experience - it cost £60 though for 2 adults and 2 kids.

We did find it was chips, chips and more chips eith everything. pizza Planet was closed when we went, depending on when you go some of the restaurants are closed, Hakuna Matata was closed but that was nice last time (although we could have had food there in florida, I forget). The sit down burger meals are expensive.

Oh and all of the travel companies do Free Kids during Jan - Mar, it's their quietest time and they always have that offer on at that time of year. Do check out how much to book yourself though as you can get it cheaper if you shop around. I halved the Cresta price by doing it myself.

It is not really advertised anywhere but you can get free buses from Disney Hotels to Charles de Gaulle and I checked the timetable and they run through the day so next time we are flying from Luton. you can leave your cases in the hotel luggage room and collect them at the end of the day before you leave.

Who did you book with ? We are looking to take our 3 year old in September and want to stay at the main disney hotel....just a case of finding a good offer

    Regards

    Pete

    Hi,

I want to buy an annual passport for my family of three for a 5 day trip to disneyland paris in july 2008.can anyone answer the following please:

If i buy a one day tickets in order to get to the annual passport office, do i get that money refunded?

Can i use the passport for the five consecutive days? (sounds daft but i am sure i read something somewhere that i could not.!)

Is there anyone out there with a annual passport who could kindly sponsor me so i can get some money off?

Thanks in advance for your help.

We (family of 2 adults and 3 kids) went on 13-15 December. The current deal with annual passes is that you get 20% discount if buying 5 or more for one family. This works out at one free.

I called the annual passport office before we travelled and was told that we would have to buy single day passes to get in and then upgrade these to annual passes at the office next to Space Mountain. In actual fact, you can pay for the annual passes directly at the entrace/ticket office (with the discount applied) and you get given little cardboard-type tickets. You are told to take these straight to the annual passport office. Once there you are helped to fill in a form for each one (they are in French) and have the T&C explained - including signing to say that you will not lend them to anyone. They take a digital photo of you and produce plastic credit-card type cards with your photo on while you wait.

We bought 5 Fantasy passes for a total of 516 euros = 103.20 euros each (£73 each approx- same price for adults and kids). This is the same price as a standard 2-day adult ticket.

    With this you also get:
    • Free parking at the park
    • 10% off in most restaurants and shops in the parks and village
    • 15% off total bill at 'La Legende de Buffalo Bill' show/dinner
    • 25-50% off entrance on restricted days
    • I think you can also get a discount on entrance for any accompanying persons too
We are holidaying in the South of France in the summer and will be making the most of our passes by having a two-night stop-over on the way.

We have booked a wood cabin in this brand new campsite:
    http://www.yellohvillage.com/en/paris/home/paris-campsite_17200_45.html

We have stayed on other campsites with this company - always in their cabins/mobile homes and they have always been exceptionally high quality. The great thing with this site is that you can book any number of nights (not just multiples of 7) that most campsites make you do in high season.

    I hope this helps someone
  • Thanks blue_monkey for all your info, will look into the disney hotels i think, hoping to go early may so won't be able to take advantage of the free kids places, theres only 2 adults and one child though so at least we're not losing out on a huge bargain!

I booked direct on the DLP website - a little box pops up and the yellow dates are cheaper so you can get the best price, it'll also show you the Special Offer prices. if you book online then call them after and you can book the Disney Express which means you can get off the train and leave your cases at the station and pick up your tickets. They take then to your Disney (or Disney partner) hotel and you check in later when you get back from the parks. It costs £14 per adult.

The website is www.disneylandparis.co.uk click on the Hotels link at the top of the page. We stayed in Sequoia Lodge and I liked it - it took a few days to get our bearings but they have the characters there in the mornings but this a 3* hotel and there are cheaper ones if you want them.

Jenkelly, they are still doing kids stay and play free in May so at least you'll save on the admission and the room price. not sure when you are going but the best prices are begining to Mid May. Cheyenne is coming up ay £448 for 3 nights/4 days and Sequia Lodge £514. We got extra night and extra day free when we went :o) If you sign up to their newsletters you'll be sent details of the offers as well.

    Have fun.

jap200 - can you clarify as you never used to be able to use the Annual Passes for 2 days after you bought them, ie. If you bought them ona Monday then on Tues/Weds you would not be able to use them to obtain admission. This is what put me off buying one tbh.

Three types of Annual Passports for Disneyland Paris:

Dream 179Euro's (365 days access, discounts, entry to Extra Magic Hours this means 2 hours before park opening on specified days - see DLP Website)
Fantasy 129Euro's (335 days access, less discounts)
Francilien 89Eur's (300 days access, even less discounts)

    http://www.dlrpmagic.com/guides/practical/annualpassports/

Francilien passport cannot be used on the two days following its initial purchase, so if you enter the park on a Monday and get the Francilien it will not work on the Tuesday and Wednesday. Dream and Fantasy work every day and don't have this limitation.

But don't forget the blackout days when your Francilien or Fantasy annual passport would not be valid anyway not matter when you purchased it. Dream is valid every day.

Thanks an existing annual passport holder.
