    hello guys,
my parents have booked today and are going on wednesday, they are taking DS aged 3 with them ,staying in the chayenne
(my first time ever without him  )

The Cheyenne is really nice, they will enjoy it. You can walk along the river and past the Hotel New York and then the Village to get to the parks, sometimes nicer than taking the bus.

    just a few questions really:

Are you able to sneak ;) in to another hotel and use the swimming pool or can you pay a fee and use it?

    No!

Are there any supermarket type places close by where you can buy things like juice, bread, milk and stuff like that ?

Inside the station just beside the entrance to the parks you'll find a shop there that sells milk, bread, sandwiches, juice etc cheaper than buying from the shops in the hotels, we tended to stock up on juice on the way back to the hotel.

any tips on eating out cheap and where?

and any other tips really because they have never done it before.

    thanks in advance :D

Annette's Diner is reasonable and good burgers etc can't think of the names of where else we ate at but they might like to book the Character Tea at the Plaza Gardens for the wee one to meet the characters for the reasonable price of 13 euros. You can book at the hotel and they usually have 2 times. Its a buffet with sausages, egg, hash browns along with cakes etc, what we would call high tea.

They'll find Goofy at the entrance to the hotel in the mornings for meet and greet times also in reception in the evenings, times will be posted. Be aware though that the French don't do "queues" for anything, be it meeting the characters or getting on a bus, your folks will need to learn to live with it or stand their ground :D

  • Has anyone stayed in one of the 3 formule 1 hotels which on the website says 'near to disneyland'?

Wanting to go as cheap as possible and i'm thinking staying here for 4 nights and hiring a car would be the cheapest option. I'm just not sure how near they are, don't fancy an hours drive every morning to get to the parks but for 31 euros a night i'd much prefer to stay here!!

Any advice would be great :)

if you stay in the Disney Hotels then you get free admission for your entire stay and also it is walking distance so you don;t have to pay to park the car (I know we stayed in Explorers and the wait for the bus sould be 45 minutes at times). Consider this when staying outside the park as it can make a difference. would stay Disney again just for the convenince and it is not as expensive as you think. We paid £354 for 3 nights/4 days and that included admission.

If you are going for the character tea book well in advance, we could not get in and went in one of the quiet times.

the Ratatouille buffet is a wste of money and it was vile for the money we paid!!

The food was vile tbh and found that the hotel did a 'bod standard' ham baguette for 5 euros where as everywhere else they put loads of stuff in the food and I remember paying 35 Euros for some food from the Deli in disney Village and it went straight in the bin after one bite. Urgh!!

Rainforest Cafe is expensive but a must and part of the experience - it cost £60 though for 2 adults and 2 kids.

We did find it was chips, chips and more chips eith everything. pizza Planet was closed when we went, depending on when you go some of the restaurants are closed, Hakuna Matata was closed but that was nice last time (although we could have had food there in florida, I forget). The sit down burger meals are expensive.

Oh and all of the travel companies do Free Kids during Jan - Mar, it's their quietest time and they always have that offer on at that time of year. Do check out how much to book yourself though as you can get it cheaper if you shop around. I halved the Cresta price by doing it myself.

It is not really advertised anywhere but you can get free buses from Disney Hotels to Charles de Gaulle and I checked the timetable and they run through the day so next time we are flying from Luton. you can leave your cases in the hotel luggage room and collect them at the end of the day before you leave.

Just to add on from this, for 4 people we paid £242 for the Eurostar and £354 for the hotel and this was DIY. If you hire a car on top of the car costs you'll have to pay to park in the NCP and I can't imagine that is cheap. Plus you have fuel to buy as well as paying to get into the park and breakfast if you don't have it in the cheaper hotels and there is the time you'll lose with travelling etc... It might seem the cheaper option but once you add everything else on it might not be so cheap so make sure you look at it thoroughly.

Andy, why have you not been? You certainly don't need children to be able to go (they limit what you can do in fact) so I'd say to go. You can get Disneyland Paris cheap enough but if you have the money then go to Florida and live the dream. It's another world out there!!

best to take lots of snacks with you (they dont check bags here like they do in the USA),
Don't they  cos they most certainly did when I was there last year in Oct/Nov. They even glanced at the underneath of our daughter's pushchair, but not under the blanket we'd laid there where our snacks were hidden. ;)
