    hi folks,

Just booked a trip to dlp. am wondering what to expect to spend over 3 hrs getting there on trains with stoppage at Lille?
Reserved seats with power socket, hoping to kill time by watching some films on computer. but how comfy are these standard aka cattle class Eurostar seats?

    hi ti's me again :D

sometime ago I came across a website (non commercial) with a LOT of information about Disneyland Paris, all top tips and advice. All I can remember is that it was quite plain and easy to navigate with a menu bar on the left of the screen.

Does anyone know what I am talking about?? :p

    thanks

There are a lot. Search on google for Disneyland paris tips and you'll probably find it. Thing is, they often change the format to something better - even if it isn't - so if it has been a while you might not recognise it anyway.

Hi, I just did this in mid Dec. The seats on Eurostar are pretty comfortable and seriously, with a magazine, the hour between St Pancras to Lille will pretty much go quickly.

Stopover is an hour in Lille. You could wait in the waiting room - there is a pub/restaurant next to the waiting room if you want to go for coffee. Or if you are travelling light, you could pop into Carrefour or EuroLille next door to the station for a wander. The platform for the TGV to Marnee de Vallee will only pop up 20min before departure.

One word of warning : Usually two trains will be on the same platform going to different destinations. Make sure you get onto the right one. We almost got onto one going to Perpignan and only managed to get onto the right train with 2 min to spare!

Can you drive out of Santa Fe to go to a cheaper restaurant and to get away from it all one evening for example?

What time would it be best to make the car crossing both on the way there and back?

    Thanks in advance! :)

You can come and go as you please from the hotel. there are manned security barriers at the entrance but just show your key or booking confirmation to get in.

As for booking the ferry, we went the day before, stayed just off the motorway near Paris and done the same on the way back. Although it is a comfortable 3 hour drive from Calais to Disney, you have to add the ferry crossing and check in time plus the journey to Dover going and by stopping over on the way back you can enjoy the last day in the park and not face an 8, or more hour drive back home. There are plenty of cheapish hotels just off the m/way around €40-50 a night.
  • Hi, im pretty new to this site and sorry if I have entered this post in the wrong place, but Im looking for a bit of advice for my forthcoming trip to Disneyland Paris. We have booked to go for my husbands 40th - well thats the excuse really - my 6 year old was desperate to go!! We have booked the hotel Santa Fe for 3 nights in March - does anyone have any info. on this hotel. Also, I have booked food vouchers, just the standard package - could anyone tell me what im entitled to food wise - ie: do I just eat breakfast at my hotel or can I eat elsewhere - the brochure says there are approx 6 places that I can eat evening meals at....does anyone think I should upgrade to the better food option? Is it worth booking the character breakfast/lunch? My DD is 6 and my 2 nieces are 4 and 7. We would like to eat somewhere nice on the Saturday evening for my hubbies birthday - can anyone recommend anywhere to go....sorry if I am asking too many questions on one post!!!

I love the Santa Fe - colourful, cheerful, 15-20 minutes walk (or free shuttle bus every 10 minutes or so) to and from the gates of the parks. Is there anything specific you want to know? DISboards has a Santa Fe review thread with photos and information -

breakfast has to be taken at your own hotel - get there before 7.45am otherwise it gets very busy and is not a particularly pleasant experience ;). you might be able to have breakfast in the park instead, you must ask at your reception about this, if its available they will give you a voucher to take to the park (i love breakfast in the park at 9.15, gives you time to enjoy the first hour of Extra Magic Hours in the morning, then breakfast without having to walk more than a few yards).

theres not really any need to upgrade, as the vouchers don't save you any money anyway, whichever half board plan you have. if you want to, you can use your vouchers at cash value in a higher rated restaurant.
Is it worth booking the character breakfast/lunch? My DD is 6 and my 2 nieces are 4 and 7.
I've done breakfast at Cafe Mickey (thats the character breakfast) and I personally wouldn't do it again - I'd much rather go there for lunch or dinner (these are also character meals and you can use your half board vouchers at cash value towards the meal). If your little girls would enjoy meeting the Disney Princesses, there is the Princess character meal at the Auberge de Cendrillon - this is fine dining and very expensive, but might be worth it? You can again use your half board vouchers towards this meal, but you'll still have quite a bit to find when paying the bill.

do you want expensive?child-friendly or more adult themed? buffet or table service? theres a lot of choice at DLP, and remember you can eat at any of the resort hotels as well as in the parks and the Village.

sorry if I am asking too many questions on one post!!!

hope this helps, enjoy planning your trip :).
