Hi all,
Just wanted to ask in advance (not going to DL til next March) if any single parents who have been to DLRP have any advice ie how did you manage with your luggage, how much luggage did you take, what if any food/drinks/snacks did you take etc etc
Im going on my own with my 10 year old, well she'll be 11 a few days before we leave and am startin to think of ways to save money on food and what can be taken in your bags on the Eurostar and stuff.
Actually i dont mean just single parents its only cause im the only adult im worrying about how much i can physically carry!
Thanks for any advice
Steph x
Next March I'm taking a 9-year old and 10-year old myself to DLP, hopefully on Eurostar. You can take crisps, biscuits, drinks etc in your luggage. I'll be taking one medium size suitcase (which I'll be responsible for) and the girls will have a carry-on size case each.
I can do a 3-night trip in winter months to DLP with just hand luggage for each of us, so a medium case to put my clothes and snacks in will be more than enough room for me.

Hey Balletshoes,
Thats great. I have a large suitcase trolley one with the pullout handle and wheels and bratty has one but its smaller so im thinking all snacks and my clothes in the biggun and brats stuff in hers.
I have a big weakness for pepsi so am glad ill have a pullalong case cause i was gonna take 1 (or 2) 2lt bottles and a bottle of robinsons or something for bratty.
I am a constant grazer more then a big meal eater so was thinking that we'll be ok if i take...
Juice/pepsi
Crisps
Biscuits
Snackbars
Apples
Pot noodles or mug shots
hummm i have mind blank
Any ideas?
Ah yes will also take some sandwich bags for borrowing a few crossants and rolls from the breakfast buffet...:D
I hope you dont mind me buggin you all for ideas, i just like to be organised as much as possible!
Cheers

Sounds to me like you've pretty much thought of everything
- then only extra thing I'd personally add would be cups of hot choc powder or coffee (I get 8cups in a stack for £1 each from the pound shops). We have them at night when we're back at the hotel settling for bed.

These are fab! I get the coffee / hot choc and soup ones ( can also get Bovril!)
we take them,a flask of hot water and some plastic spoons into the parks!
after paying 4 euros for a cup of hot choc @ Disney one xmas and vowing to never ever do so again ! lol
They are 99p in Home Bargains, every penny helps :rotfl:0 -
How much comfort/luxury are you after? If you can go basic or just above I'd recommend either the Etap or the Ibis at Val D'Europe. My husband and I did this, and we couldn't believe it when we drove to the park and it took just under 5 minutes - meaning they are closer and cheaper than a couple of the Disney Hotels. The Ibis is a bit better quality, if you look on the Ibis website and put in 5646 as the hotel code in the search box. And it's right next to the train station, so you've got links to disney, if you didn't want to drive and park, and direct into Paris as well.
Thanks for your advice, I think we are after relative comfort!
We won't be driving as we are in the North West.0 -
My partner and I have booked this hotel for NYE 2010 and a couple of nights in Paris to follow. We managed to get the hotel for £124.00 BB via Roomsnet and then two nights BB at Holiday Inn Montparnasse Pasteur for £154.00 again through Roomsnet.Flights with BMI ended up being about £240.00 with pre booked seats and just hand luggage.
The reviews on trip advisor seem to be ok and I must say I had a few queries and emailed the hotel and they responded within 24hours on both occasions.
I had the room service menu emailed to me this is in operation on NYE. If you would like me to email it you please send me a pm.
Hope this helps in some way
Is it worth the hassle going for NYE? I would like to be there on my birthday (30th Dec) but we could come back home for NYE. Either way we have to be back on the 1st anyway as OH is a teacher, so wondering whether to come back on the 31st and leave a day earlier instead. Pricewise it doesn't really seem to be any different.0 -

We did this and am so glad because it was expensive but am glad a friend on here reminded me that the sequoia do not have kettles in their rooms. I bought a mega cheap travel one (well by cheap I bought a £8 one took it back after a friend lent me one lol) took it with us they are sooo small didn't take up much space in the bag and at 11E for 2 coffee and 2 small cakes  was def worth it
We were told the best sandwich bags were the cheap ikea ones because they were a good size and thick plactic so reusable - THEY WERE RIGHT took mega loads to eat in the park x x:happyhear YUMMY MUMMY TO HENRY BEAR AGED 10:happyhearslimming world need to get back to target 25lb to goDisney World here we come May 2018:j0 -
Hi,
I am looking at puchasing tickets from the gotyourtickets . co . uk website, has anyone used it before?0 -
I'm getting really nervous now about our impending trip (25th oct) asked travel agent about adding on half board to our B&B and it was going to cost £360 !!!!! kids are only 5 and 7 so I don't think we'll possibly eat that much lol. As we haven't travelled since all the new regulations have been put in place - what sort of things can i take with us to eat in our cases (we are flying)? can you take jucice in tetra packs??
I'm so confused and worried that we'll end up on the streets starving with no euro's to buy food for the rest of the holidays after buying 2 coffees and a coke on the 1st day, is it really that expensive or are there places to get things at a decent price?:beer:0 -

If it helps, last week I spent 3 full days at DLP, one adult and one 9 year old. We had breakfast lunch and dinner every day (including eating at Cafe Mickey, the Beavers Creek Tavern, and the Agrabah Cafe), and I spent 200 euros - almost all of that went on food. You can eat cheaper though - there is a McDonalds in the Village, and a couple of pasta/sandwich/deli places.
In hold luggage, you can bring what you like for snacks and drinks really. Theres also a small convenience shop just inside the train station at DLP (its at the gates of the park) where you can pick up sandwiches, drinks etc cheaper than the resort, and a garage at the Santa Fe hotel which also has a mini-market.0
