sadeelisha wrote: »Hi, ive been looking at doing disney this october,18th-20th as i have enough airmiles to get us all there (2 adults 2 kids age 3 and 6), and just did a dummy booking for 2nites/3days at hotel sata fe, with half board meal option, came in at £474.
That seems good to me, is it?
As the half board meal option will be costing you around £116 of that total, do you know how the half board options work? Its just they may not be as good value as you think they are, especially if you don't think you would want a table service meal every day of your stay. They don't cover each day of your stay either, only per night booked (so you'd only get 2 table/buffet service meal vouchers per person in your party, for your £116).
Also, does your Santa Fe booking price have the maximum 40% discount on it? If you book before the end of April, there are 40% discounts to be had. If your price doesn't have the full 40% discount, it may be worth looking at the Cheyenne, or even the Sequoia Lodge or Newport Bay Club, see if they come out cheaper.
how much for spending? it would just be for drinks.snacks/souveniers(absolute minimum) etc for the 3 days in the parks.
For one adult, one child, if we go for 3 days 2 nights, we'd spend around 250 euros total (but that includes all our meals, and we do have a table service meal each day, as well as counter service lunch usually).
Also, as its airmiles and all baggage allowance is included, would it be an idea to fill one suitcase with loads of bottles of pop, snacks etc to take and use one case for clothes? are you allowed to take stuff in?
yes, you are allowed to take stuff in, just not glass bottles etc. No-one will bat an eye if you're taking snacks etc into the parks each day. Its a good idea to take plenty snacks, drinks etc with you in your luggage.
I may be getting ahead of myself here as we are going tto spain in july, only reason im thinking this is because we cant use our airmiles for spain so basically could we do the whole trip on, say, £800 max?
TIA
Hope this helps
Edited to add - sadeelisha, I've just had a look on the official Disney booking site - the Santa Fe is £358 for your dates, no %discount but early booker discount, the Cheyenne is cheaper - its £352, with 30% discount. Might the Cheyenne suit you better, as it has bunk beds for the little ones? Most other onsite hotels (including the Santa Fe) have 2 double beds as standard in the bedrooms. The Cheyenne standard rooms are one double bed and one set of bunk beds.0 -
Pay for tickets for your 3 year old...My boy is 2 1/2 but looks older and I have been told to expect to have his passport checked to prove age. If tickets are not bought I think they can ask for payment at gates or ask you to leave! That was the impression I got from the phone helpline anyway.Make £/day March: £1490.85 / £310
Quidco £3,143.16 NSD Mar:14
2024 Road Kill £1
March Sales of Excess £240.850 -

Weve only been 3 times but have never been asked to prove the age of dd or our nephew and he looks older.
They may check passports at check in at hotel I have heard this before but who is going to carry their passport around the parks with them, thats just silly it should be left safely back at the hotelWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
Does anyone know much about the Annual passports thing, we are going to France for 2 weeks so I think it might be worth us getting them. I was thinking of buying 1 day ticket's online from Expedia via Quidco seem to be the best price, but I've also read that if ticket's don't have a face value they can't take what you have paid for them off the cost of the Annual Pass iyswim? So do ticket's bought online have a face value? Also am I right in assuming the 10% discount in stores is only valid for stores in DLP, not in Disney stores over here, that would be too good to hope for.Booo!!!0

yes the 10% is only in stores at dlp, shareholders get 10% over here in stores thoughWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

Hi all, can anyone help please. I have booked to go to Disneyland at the end of July. We are flying with Easy jet and will arrive at 18.20. What is the best way to get to Disneyland from the airport? Train or Private cab? Is the train difficult?
Also what have people done for travel insurance, I havent sorted it out yet as wanted to get the best deal, there are 2 adults and 3 children going.
Many thanks everybody!0 -

We bought 5 season tickets year before last (for the price of 4)
Fantasy at 139 euro, limited to 335 days, but didn't cause us a problem, for unlimited entry for those days

Don't know about online, we buy entry at the gate then go to the passeport annuel office by buzz lightyear and upgrade.
We actually took the motorhome, the season ticket includes parking, so we used the carpark and showers as an aire de service, then had a week in the park, bought weekly passes for the metro, and went to paris for a week, (stayed parked at disney) then had another week in the park.
So if you factor in the fact we got three weeks camping as well, it was a real bargain.
I have bought shares in disney now, as there is a further 15% discount on the season ticket.
