Trying to decide which hotel now :

Hotel New york a bit pricey and would it suit family with small children . £1057 3 nights including half board plus.

Sequioa Lodge like this one and seems quite good value , do we need room upgrade ? £883 standard room incl half board plus

Hote l newport bay , looks really nice and like admirals floor with no queues for breakfast etc £997 including half board plus on admirals floor.

Quite like hotel cheyenne with bunk beds but the half board only (no half board plus option) option so we couldnt use the nicer restarants in hotels like new york and newport bay .

Please give me your thoughts , need to make decision asap

    Hiya!

We're going to DLP in early October and I have a couple of questions, was wondering if anyone had the answers!!

We're taking our 3 children and the ferry from Dover is pretty early - 10am. We were thinking of driving down to Dover the day before and staying somewhere cheap - anyone got any recommendations? I've spotted a Premier Inn right next to a ferry terminal (hope it's ours haha) but if anyone knows of anywhere even cheaper or more family friendly / convienient that would be amazing.

We're staying in a static caravan about an hour away from DLP. We don't want to spend the whole holiday at DLP so we're going to buy the hopper passes. Is midweek quieter? Where is the cheapest place to buy them from?

    Thanks in advance x

we do the same :) some years we have had annual passes
but last year we just bought day passes from the DLRP website, as they were offering 15% off

just keep an eye on the website / here for offers

you are going in term time so it will be quieter anyway, but yes midweek is less busy

Don't worry too much about it being Aug. I went in August last year and it wasn't too bad. Only the VERY popular or new rides had the massive queues. Most were only about 20-30 mins.

In terms of hotels I have only stayed in one and that was Hotel New York. I thought it was fab, great service. Fantastic food and lots of it. And its right in Disneyland village!

Hi all :) we're thinking of going to DLP in October with the children who will be 5 and 4 by then, what is the drive from the Eurotunnel to the park like? I've priced up Davy Crockett and its not looking a bad price, I've been keeping on for ages to go to my other half and think the kids are such nice ages to enjoy the magic! Has anyone stayed at Davy Crockett?? If so, whats it like?

For anyone looking for a cheap but decent hotel stop over the Holiday Inn Express near the Eurotunnel terminal is fantastic. There is a thread on here about how to get the best price. I think we paid £37 for a family room and it included breakfast.
There is no such thing as a free lunch. Its only free because you've paid for it.

Noone can have everything they want and the sooner you learn that the better.

Just posted huge thread and lost it!

Kirstym01 - we've done Eurotunnel lots, never any problems. Journey in France is fine - 3 hours, all motorway. Tolls are very easy to use, cost about £26, can pay by credit card. Lots of services on the way. Only drawback is signage for Disney is not good until you are very close, think Davy Crockett is first sign you see but take AA routeplan and its fine.

DMC75 - we stay at Cheyenne and it's fine as somewhere to sleep, which is basically all you will do. If you go August its open late - when we went in summer we were out of room by 8.30am and not back til nearly 10pm each night so it really didn't matter. Even in when we have gone in November, we are not in til nearly 9pm and just crash (we take portable dvd player). Haven't eaten in other hotels I'm afraid. We normally eat early in park before the rush (4.00-5.00) or in village on way out. Breakfast queues not too bad in Oct/Nov, especially if first or last sitting.

Going in motorhome in June - can't wait!
Be the change you want to see :j

We are taking 3 boys to disney in june but my youngest will only have turned 3 the week before we are going and i understand under 3's have free entry. I know its a bit cheeky:D but does anyone know if i could chance getting him in as an under 3. We will be buying our day hopper tkts online before we go and i don't know whether to chance it or not with him.
Has anyone done this before? Also is it easy just to buy one tkt on the gate if we do decide to chance it?

waiting for an hour with young kids could be difficult , anyone been in august first hand ?

yep, been in august, sept, october, and also the spring period as well, august is the quietest of the school holiday times, but you can wait for the most popular rides as you would expect, get hold of annual passports, they give you an extra 2 hours access, before main park opening, if you want any insider info PM me, as a family of 5 we are all annual passport holders, and visit on average, 5-8 times a year, usually staying 3-7 days.

    thanks
