Ollysmummy06 - we haven't stayed at Dover, but in Calais. We stayed at the Suite hotel less than 5 minutes from the tunnel. It cost about £60 for a room which had a double bed, sofa bed for DS, and plenty of room for a cot. There is screen to seperate the double bed area if you want some privacy, and a little kitchenette with microwave, fridge and kettle. There are no frills in the hotel but it all you need, and its right next to Cite Europe, the hypermarket which has a food court, huge supermarket and Tesco alcohol sales (and for us who still mourn its demise in England - a C and A). We nip in there and buy some supplies and then to Tesco for a box of wine for the trip - I know we sound like alchies but when DS goes to bed we have a glass in the hotel room and watch a DVD.
If you are staying on the park you can pick you tickets up as early as you want so you could be on the park by 2pm from there.
tinkertaylor - totally agree about maursie's toilet tip! We make sure we have drinks, and some snacks - boxes of raisins and tubes of fruit pastels are good as can ration them and make them last a while. Make the most of magic hours when it will be quieter. At the New York you are really close to the park so you could go back for a bit in the day for a quiet coffee and feet up while it's mad in the park.Be the change you want to see :j0 -
Hi there - We're looking at booking Hotel Sante Fe in September. The 40% discount has now dropped to 30% and we don't want to miss out if the discount decreases further.
Do we book now or wait and see if 40% comes back. We're going via Eurostar so could book the train tickets now to protect that price. . . Any help appreciated.
Thanks0 -
To pay with tesco vouchers you need to convert your voucher into airmiles, £2.50 in vouchers gives you 60 airmiles. eurotunnel alone with airmiles is 900 miles per person so i dread to think how many tesco vouchers you would need for a disney holiday
Eurotunnel don't accept Airmiles, but do accept Tesco Vouchers. Did you mean Eurostar?Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

Well, it's not gone away yet
I use another well known travel forum and this question has come up - the advice offered is to call Disney direct and you will (should) still get 40% discount. The offer is available for bookings made before the end of April

I've been nervously checking the prices for my trip every day as I can't book until tomorrow when I get paid. So far, so good, but as there are 6 of us if I can't get the 40% off at Davy Crockett the price will rocket. Explorer's is nearly double currently.
My only saving grace is that I was planning to book a premium cabin so if the discount drops I should be able to book standard for the same price instead.0 -
Just to say that Mrs Monkfish succesfully completed the half-marathon on Sunday, despite little or no training, in a far better time than she ever imagined.:T
Thanks to all those that sponsored her and her friends, and thanks also to those that took the time out to just have a little look around the charity website (see my sig) :beer:Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk
