  • Hi all, just wondering how many nights it would be best to stay-we are looking at going on 29th aug but cannot decide on 3 or 4 nights, also the hotel. i stayed in the cheyanne and loved it when i was younger but was thinking about the davy crockett....any suggestions?

Best price i've had so far was the davy crockett 3nts-£457.20, 4nts-£561.60, direct from DLP.com

Ferry prices are pretty good at £70 with P&O and i was thinking about booking at hotel near dover on the 28th as we are travelling from manchester and don't fancy doing it all in 2 go from our house to disney.

We are totally open to options (even off site hotels is fine) and can change the dates if need be but want to be back by 6th sep as ds starts school that week. Oh its for 2 adults, 1 child age 4 and an infant age 1.xx

shes is adorable im so sorry it was upsetting to think of a child going through that.

how does she manage eating at hme or do you have to inject liquids?

she is fed intravenously directly into the arteries of her heart, with a special formula of nutrients and vitamins made especially for her.

I couldn't watch the video with sound as I'm at work, but your daughter is very brave to deal with this every day. My little sister was in and out of hospital when she was younger and it's amazing how kids just get on with it.

I really hope you get to go in June. I'm sure if someone at Disney heard this story they could pull a few strings and make the trip really special.

    wouldn't know where to start!
they must get thousands of requests like that everyday though

I have a friend who does some work with the Make-a-Wish Foundation. I could ask him if he would know who to ask about these things. He's very busy, but I'll try and get hold of him.

The prices you quote seem fairly reasonable for August to me.

Have you thought of using Tesco Clubcard points for your crossing. You can't get the ferry anymore, but you can use EuroTunnel. We always save our points for this.

If you are happy to try offsite I really like the Magic Circus or the Kyriad. The Kyriad has a slightly more relaxed, adult feel imho. It's usually pricey, but the Marriott at the golf course is nice. For a good budget option I like the Adagio apartments, but they are further out (though probably no more than Davy Crockett).

I'm not sure of the season dates, but you want to make sure you don't miss the summer entertainment (fireworks etc. if they have them) by a day or so which is possible at the end of August so I'd watch for that.

brilliant, thanks that would be great...

obviously we already have the trip arranged (so long as we can all go)
so would just need a contact out there

As mentioned earlier my sister has special requirements and most trips have been fine, but on the odd occasion we've needed assistance the Disney people have been 100% fantastic. Have you spoken with anyone in the UK to discuss your needs? There is a number on the website to discuss special assistance etc. and they're very helpful.

Thanks for that-i think on site will be better for us and i quite like the self catering aspect of the Davy Crockett with having a little one with us. Thanks again.xx
  • Hey all,

I am getting really excited about our trip to DLP. It will be me, dd and my mum, first time there so wanted to stay in a Disney hotel, I booked Sequoia (in hotel) last week. Checked again last night and were showing New York to be really reasonable, called travel agent this morning they've changed us over to the New York for an extra £50, hoping this is a good move??

Have decided after much debate NOT to use the meal plans, I'm veggie and pretty fussy, after looking on other boards at pics of food/menus etc have decided would rather pay £20 for an edible pizza than £44 for something I won't eat.

Anyways we're flying from Man to CDG, does anybody have any tips for the best way to get to DLP from the airport? and roughly how much each option costs? am trying to budget as best I can :cool2:
