Do you guys think booking a table for dinner is really necessary?

I am just having a look now at the various places to eat and wondered if I really should be booking tables for our stay? We are going on the full board offer, so will be given vouchers for our meals, but I have heard that these vouchers are only applicable for some restaurants depending on which hotel you stay in, can anyone confirm this?

We are staying in Santa Fe, so does anyone know which restaurants I can book?

I would kind of like to wait till we get there, to see what kind of food all the different places do before deciding where to eat, but by the sounds of it I need to book before we go.

When we went, we only booked on the day each time and had no problems getting a reservation. That was during autumn half-term so it was quite busy. I imagine some of the really popular choices like the character meals may get booked up early though, so if you have your heart set on a particular place it may be worth booking in advance.

As I recall, only certain park restaurants were included in the "meals included" tariffs. Also, you were restricted to certain menu choices unless you were prepared to pay extra. The included choices were good enough though.

I would recommend booking a park restaurant for the evening meal on at least some of the days as it allows you to prolong your stay without having to trek back to the hotel. We enjoyed the Blue Lagoon which was one of the included restaurants. It feels like you are underground and from the tables, you can watch the boats and passengers of the "Pirates of the Carribbean" ride float past.

We didn't stay at the Santa Fe - I'm not sure if the restaurants available depends on the hotel.

think that may have the food choices on for each hotel but you might have to read down towards the bottom.
plus if you dont like the places on the list then your vouchers can apparently be used as a cash value but not sure how much this is yet?

we have booked through thomas cook to stay at disney and go via ferry. i know we get our park and food tickets at the hotel check in but does anyone know how we get on the ferry? do we need some confirmation or ferry tickets? we are driving so taking the car on.
    thaks kirsty

yes it is necessary, when we last went we tried to book some tables for 1 of the days that morning and a few places were fully booked and we had to then wait until 9.45 to eat at the one that had spaces. I would say book as it got busy and people were being turned away

thanks for all your kind words of support regarding 'mini monkfish' !!
at this moment in time, she is still in hospital, and its still not looking good for us to go in a fortnight.

credit card (tesco mastercard) dont cover it, as its my reason for cancelling, rather than the holiday company forcing it on us.

so, if she isn't well enough, looks like our best bet will be to move it to a later date in the year, at a cost (which will be worth it rather than losing out all together) ... and just hope she is well enough.

i'm sure many of you have read my sig, and checked out the website. so i'm sorry to go on - but if you haven't please do help us to raise awareness of this rare and frightening illness that many people don't even realise exists, by taking a look and spreading the word.
basically, our daughter cannot eat, as it can make her ill - something we all take for granted day in and day out. some days are worse than others, and right now she is going through an extremely bad patch. fingers crossed, the docs can help her and get her to disney again, whether it be this month or any month soon.

I am sorry to read about your DD Monkfish, I know it does not seem it right now but she is more important than the holiday and it will give you all something to focus on when she get's out of hospital rather than worrying about whether you'll be able to go. Moving it a month or so might be best for all of you all.

Best of luck, thanks for keeping us all updated.

    hi,

my daughters and myself don't like rides but they would like to go to Disneyland Paris to see the characters and evening parade. I can't really justify the cost for what would really just be a wander round....can you buy tickets for just the evening parade or something?
    TIA.

you cant but you can buy day tickets.

to be honest if you have not been before, you can easily fill the day wandering between the two parks watching the shows and character meet and greats etc, (ie currently there is a morning character train with minnie and a few others, then at the studios there is the stars and cars parade, then at the main park there is the evening parade)

throughtout the day there is also meet and greets at different locations with different characters, and then there is also shows (for instance mickeys magical party etc, or if going at winter, there is mickeys winter wonderland ice show etc)
