Hi Fuzzy - what was the Newport hotel like ? Im looking to book a trip for the family , and would be interested in any Hotel reviews.
Were going by train from Birmingham, so is the cheapest way to book the trains seperate , then the hotel / park tickets thru Disney ?

Yes don't book the eurostar through the disney site, it is much more expensive. Goto the eurostar site directly and book through there.0 -

I'm not Fuzzy, but we stayed at the Newport the year before last. It was a nice enough place as you would expect from a Disney hotel and we had no real complaints. It was very busy (being half-term week) but they were pretty well organised and we didn't have to queue too much for check-in or hotel meals. It was about a 10 minute walk to the park entrance and the walk takes you round the lake.
One reason we chose the Newport is that it has a swimming pool. However there was so many other things to do that we only used it briefly once and we certainly wouldn't have missed it if it wasn't there. Unless a pool is a big plus for you, you could possibly save some money by staying in one of the other Disney hotels which I'm sure are just as nice but without a pool.0 -
Gutted.
Due to go to DLP Disneyland Hotel on 16th Feb for 4 days, but daughter has been taken into hospital as her condition has got worse. (please see my sig).
Doc says unless she improves, he wont allow us to take her in her current condition
shes been looking forward to this so much as well!
we have until 8 days before we go to make a final decision, or we lose all money
(cant get her insured because of her condition)
or we can re-arrange for a later date at a cost, which is looking like the favourite choicePlease take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk
(MSE Andrea says ok!)0 -

I hope your daughter gets well soon monk. My advice re-arrange if she isn't well enough in time, at least she then still has something to look forward to.0 -
we can only ever go during school hols
one of our best trips was Aug 08,yes it is busy ( we were prepared for that but just made use of fastpass and EMH as much as poss!)
but the longer opening hours and nicer weather made up for it
also people seem to be in better moods, as not dodging the rain / cold so much ! lol

Do you guys think booking a table for dinner is really necessary?
I am just having a look now at the various places to eat and wondered if I really should be booking tables for our stay? We are going on the full board offer, so will be given vouchers for our meals, but I have heard that these vouchers are only applicable for some restaurants depending on which hotel you stay in, can anyone confirm this?
We are staying in Santa Fe, so does anyone know which restaurants I can book?
I would kind of like to wait till we get there, to see what kind of food all the different places do before deciding where to eat, but by the sounds of it I need to book before we go.0
