i went in 2001 - 27th dec and it was a wee bit chilly...make sure you prepare as it does get cold..however it did rain too so just prepare make sure you take the wellies :)
  • Me and my partner want to visit DLP in January for 5 night/6 days, the dates we are looking at are 3/1/2010-8/1/2010, whats it like at this time of year? is it still busy? are all the rides open as normal? also the deals ive found so far are as follows

Eurostar - £139 Return (for both of us)
    Magic Circus Hotel - £389
    Thomas Cook Explorers - £315
    Dream Castle - £472
Disney Hotel Santa Fe - £343
    Disney Hotel Cheyenne - £380

Which would be the best hotel to go for? ive stayed at Magic Circus hotel twice before but never stayed in the others, also are these good deals for the time? or would it be best to wait a bit longer and book nearer the time?

thanks in advance, any help appreciated.

well on one particular day it rained...we left our wet hats in the car overnight came back the next day they were frozen solid :)....so maybe a bit more than a wee bit lol.
i would just make sure they have vests, tshirt, jumper and coat...at least if its a bit warmer they can just tie jumper round waist or put in bag...i would amount it to being a really cold day here (im in norfolk)...but like i say it did rain too.

    hi

we've been several times in december, and it can get very cold, especially late on in the eve

its quite often sunny, but freshly cold during the day
but once the sun dips, it will be much colder

we always take thermals to wear under trousers, or salopettes for the kids
if you have room, just take what you can to cover your self - better to have too many warm clothes than not enough:confused:

feet get really cold walking/standing around on concrete pavements all day, so take warm boots and lots of socks

hats, scarves and gloves are obviously a no-brainer, but no doubt you can buy some nice disney themed ones out there when you get there
Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk
    (MSE Andrea says ok!)
  • Hi, I'm a long time lurker but first time poster on this thread. Have gathered some great information over the last couple of weeks and am almost ready to book but have a couple of questions that I hope someone might be able to help me with please?!

We are hoping to take our kids next year for 3 nights/4 days. My big dilemma now is whether to go at the end of March and take advantage of the free dining or go at the beginning of September and hope that there will be some similar offer on then. Has there been free dining offers or good discounts on hotel prices around this time of year in the past? I don't think either time are affected by school holidays.

I suspect the weather might be a bit better in Sept? The flight prices are roughly the same for both times.

The other decider might be the kids ages - ds is 4 in July and dd is 2 in June. I wonder if more rides/activities might be available if they are a bit older?

Does anyone have any opinions on what might be best? THanks very much.

from everything that has been said taking advantage of the free meals would be a good idea just because apparently food is one of the biggests costs over there its so expensive :)

we are going in march for 3 nights by eurostar in the hotel cheyenne for 2 adults 2 children and a infant for 904...i have checked recently it has gone upto 1125 but thats also including the meals :)
  • Thanks for your reply. I had priced the Santa Fe at £444 for 3 nights and the flights are £241 so I'm thinking thats a really good deal? I've read that the SF isn't everyone's cup of tea, I stayed their in 2004 (pre-kids) and it was fine enough for sleeping in. I'd like to stay at Explorers as they have the pool and good kids area by the sounds of it but its £562, don't think I'd be able to convince dh to pay that much, lol! Plus I don't think you ge the free dining with that.
  • When is that travelling? and who Quoted you that? im planning on going first week of Jan for 5 nights/6 days and ive been Quoted £315 for Thomas Cook Explorers! for 2 Adults, and the Eurostar is £139 Return for both of us.
