    Hi

My hubby and I with our 2 kids are off to Disney next month. We're staying at la croix du vieux pont with thomson alfresco for 7 nights and are planning to make a day trip to Disney.

I am looking for cheap entrance tickets for disney, but can't seem to find any deals on them anywhere. I'm only looking for 1 day passes, nothing major...but there doesn't seem to be any special offers out there.

    Anyone found anything different?

we stay there, going again for OCt half term
    Hope you enjoy it :)

We usually have annual passes, but havent renewed them this time

we will be getting 1 day passes
    you can save 15% on a 1 day 2 park ticket here : https://www.booktickets.disneylandparis.com/tnsa6/live/shop/A/MAINGBCD/pluto/product_list.php?affid=SECUTIX&tduid=32454335543R

although if this is your first time? I suggest doing 2 days at least

so far we have done 3 daytrips,a wkend trip, and a longer 4 day trip and still lot's we havent seen / done ! :)

Has anyone stayed at the Paxton Spa Hotel, I was wondering if they did a shuttle bus to and from disney?

They don't do a shuttle bus to the park, but they do do a shuttle to the train station (it is only 2 stops to Disney) FYI it is within walking distance. We stayed here in July, it is a lovely hotel, breakfast is nice, and so are the rooms and the pool. The food and drink prices are over inflated, as with all French hotels in the Disney vicinity.

There is however a McDonalds a short walk away, and a supermarket around the corner, and a few places to eat next to the train station as this is where the main town is. There is also a large supermarket in the town.

Hope you have a great time, have you booked yet?
  • just booked last min break last night to go back to le chen gris for a week 19th october (using latest sun hols):j all excited as we already have our annual passes from out trip in may so should be fairly cheap

fancy having a trip down to
    Val d'Europe International Shopping Centre

apparently its only 5 mins from disney
has anyone been there before is it worth a visit ???

We had a quick look on Friday with the intention to spend longer there on Sunday. Looked quite impressive with loads of designer shops, and a massive supermarket. Don't go on a Sunday though as most of the shops are closed :(

What is the chene gris like ?

great thanks for the tip ;)
le chene gris is ok as a base its about 15/20 min drive to dlp

mobile homes are nice clean and spacious but very expensive if it was not done on the sun hol in may i wanted to add an extra night either side of the sun hol and they wanted £55 a night

entertainment wise not too clever there a 3 pools there one was closed the whole time we were there

there is a small park onsite more suited to the younger ones mine were 2 and 3 and loved it

the onsite shop was only open for a few hours in the mor and a few at night

the take away was very limited and expensive they did have a resturant onsite but did not eat there

The staff were very nice and friendly

looking back i have made it sound awful it really is not its a lovely little site there is just not a whole lot to do onsite but was fantastic for a base as we spent the whole time in dlp am till pm lol and im sure we are going to this time too :p

saying that though there is a train station right outside the site and i think we are going to try and pop into paris for a day

what is and when is the cheapest time to go to disneyland? 2 of us looking to spend a weekend there on a tightish budget, preferably taking a train as that seems like the fastest way to get there. leaving from london.

(leaving friday evening/saturday morning coming back sunday night)

If you pick up a disneyland paris brochure, they have colour codes which show the cheapest times (generally out of school holidays/summer, and not during special occasions ie xmas, halloween etc. I have found that mid january to mid february are the cheapest (be warned its cold then though!)

as for how, do you want to stay on site or off site?? on site the cheapest hotel is santa fe, however you can find cheaper off site, but many dont come with the park passes

as for getting there, if you book well in advance you can get eurostar tickets from £59 return for adults. (cheaper to book with eurostar than via disney)

make sure if you book disneyland paris and eurostar direct, use quidco for cash back as well
    MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..

    thanks

any recommendations for offsite hotels? preferably with a shuttle service? is it worth driving to disneyland rather than taking the eurostar as i guess i need to arrange my own way from the station to disneyland?

  • We have stayed at the Magic Circus hotel several times when it used to be owned by Holiday Inn - it has a free shuttle bus to the park - but is within walking distance if you don't mind a bit of a hike! Haven't stayed there since it changed hands (although we are going in November) but it was good value and the rooms are good in that the childrens bed is curtained off with it's own TV, The station is within walking distance to the park and also to all the disney hotels except Davy Crockett. You can get by without a car for all the Disney Hotels (apart from Davy Crockett) and the partner hotels - My Explorer, Kyriad, Magic Circus and the Movenpick dream castle (or whatever it is called now!) although we like to go by car to go shopping - but we live in Kent - so it is easy!

This is a large shopping mall with a seperate designer outlet.

    http://www.valdeurope.fr/106-13524-Val-d-Europe.php

The hypermarket is huge and is open until 10pm so we used to nip in there after visiting Disney to top up our drinks, food etc.

You can also get 10% off booklet for the outlet if you have an annual pass but the shops are expensive.

There is also a large area with restaurants, McDonalds etc.

What I really like is that there are several areas with chairs grouped together for the weary shopper to take a break. I wish that there was more of that here.
