Disneyland Paris/EuroDisney - Questions & Answers

Just got back from DP, and my god it has got expensive to eat there. We really noticed a difference from our last trips. Souveniers have got even more expensive than usual too, but, there are a lot of promotions on in the shops, which I have never seen in any of my visits.
The parks were really quiet, too, and the longest we had to queue was 40 minutes for Crush's Coaster which we love. Thunder mountain/Buzz/Space Mountain were all near enough walk on's without queues, which was a fab surprise. Also no queing or waiting for a table in the restaurants in Disney Village.
Also France in general seems to have got expensive, even with their VAT cut. We paid 1.44 euro a litre for fuel on the way home :eek::eek: and even food in the hypermarket was more expensive. In fact I would go so far to say, things are far cheaper over here now.0 -

Has anyone been to Disney over christmas? I know it'll be crazy busy, but my concern was if the park was full when we got there on the first day. This may be the 24th, 26th, 27th, 28th or 31st, these are the arrival dates were currently looking at. As the direct train doesn't get there until 1pm I'd hate to be shut out of the park for a whole day!0

We have been over xmas a few times, and it does get really busy on New Years Eve, in fact dangerously busy when it's time to leave. Health and safety seems not to exist.
I'd say arrive on 31st, then stay a few days after when it calms down a little0 -

We arrived on 31st last year and stayed for 4 nights. We did not go into the park on New Year's eve as we were advised not to but went in the other days and it was busy but not heaving. We could see the fireworks on New Years eve from our villa anyway.
I also believe that it is traditional for the French to visit their relatives in New Year's Day so it should be a bit quieter but wrap up warm!0 -
We're going out to Disney on 2nd November for 3 nights 4 days, having booked through Thomas Cook. We're going on the Disney Express, taking our 5 yr old and 3 yr old.
We've taken up the half-board option, having realised that if we didn't food was going to be expensive.
My wife is now wondering how much spending money we should take. She's googled and found responses saying all sorts, from £100 per day to £1000 per day.
We have put aside £300 to cover the time and am hoping this is enough, bearing in mind we will probably turn the hotel breakfast into a packed lunch....
Advice?0 -
I would say £100 a day would be enough for meals, souvenirs and snacks. Maybe take a extra £200 on top of this budget just incase
Edited due to people nit pickingWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0
