Ive been told the dream castle hotel is as nice as if not nicer than the disneyland hotel its just not on site BUT MUCH CHEAPER

We stayed at the Newport Bay Club and could not fault it, the best thing about being in an onsite hotel - Newport Bay Club, Sequioa Lodge, New York or Disneyland Hotel (in the disneyland park) - is that they are in walking distance of the parks. I think that makes it worth the extra cost.

I've stayed in the NBC 3 times, Sequoia Lodge twice, Hotel Santa Fe (never again), HNY once and Disneyland Hotel once before, and of them all the best is the DLH by far, it's not only so convenient being so close, but also just a fantastic hotel. Of the others, I would only stay in NBC again, but for an £200-300 I would prefer DLH.

I agree with you FloFlo, the extra cost is warranted IMO for the convenience, and the Disney magic.
  • Hi
we are going to DLP on Sunday and staying at DCR. As this is part of our daughters birthday present, we'd like her to have a character birthday meal. I've read about the princess meals and that sounds really good. Can you let me know how to go about booking one of these and roughly how expensive is it? Much appreciate all the advice.
    Thanks

    Hi,

We have booked a characters birthday party for my daughter, which cost us £60 for 4 of us. It includes, drinks, food, card and a pressie. This was booked through the travel agent.
There is as you know a prince and princesses meal, which I believe takes place in Auberge de Cendrillon in Fantasyland.

You could either book direct with Disney, through their dining reservation number +33 (0) 1 60 30 40 50, or your travel agent. Failing that, you could book on arrival.

A couple of bits of advice. We didn't usethe Disney Express service, which is v expensive. We opted for ten euros to take our luggage from Cheynne to Eurostar terminal, which is worth it to give u more time on last day.

Cheynne good value. Breakfast a scrum, but you're there for the park not the hotel. Wouldn't eat there in evening though.

Avoid Annettes Diner. The place has gone down hill big time. Food cold, toilets appalling.
Cafe Mickey is great in the evening for the number of disney characters that turn up. You need to reserve a table a week before to make sure of getting in. Food Ok, but cf with the low average elsewhere it's still good. The fact that the staff, eg the princesses and princes eat there says a great deal. It's fun working out who is princess or prince what.

If you are travelling from Ashford, check out £129 deal with ashford international hotel, which offers free 14 days' parking. Use laterooms via quidco to get cashback.

we ate at the auberge de cendrillion in march and it cost us £106 booked and paid before we went, for 2 adults 2 children. It really is an experience not to miss
  • We are looking at going to DLP sometime between the end of Sep & end of Oct. I know that the British half-term period will be very busy and I'm guessing Halloween will be too. Are there likely to be any other really busy period that we should avoid during this time.
