Have used this everytime we have gone using Eurostar, and for convenience it is good, however, you do still have to check in at the hotel when you want to go to your room, which is no hardship.

The best thing about it is, you just take your luggage to the Disney Express desk in the Marne La Vallee station, which is up the stairs from the platform, and exchange your luggage for a ticket, and then straight into the park.
When you leave, is when it comes into it's own IMO, as you just leave your luggage at the hotel, and they transfer it to the station for your return journey.

You will find expensive food i the norm in theme parks even over here. I woulnt expect to go to Legoland and find reasonable price food let alone disneyland paris

So true, it's a captive market, so they can charge what they want within reason. I echo what people have said, regarding the petrol station, but for me, it's worth the one stop to go to Val d' Europe and stock up.

We usually have a few hours there and walk around the outlet too. You can book a shuttle bus that will pick you up from your hotel and take you there.

As for prices of merchandise, again, they have you in there, and know you will spend. We rarely buy anything other than food. If the kids want something, they use their money they have saved.

We are just back from Disneyland Paris and it is shockingly expensive for just about everything in the hotels and the parks. They may well have a captive audience but they won't have me captive again, lol.

The newport Bay Hotel was great, as was the short walk to the parks but my heart is in Florida.

We upgraded to an Admirals room at Newport Bay and for this we got, free cooked breakfast instead of just continental and a dedicated restaurant just for Admiral Floor guests - which was great the other restaurant looked heaving in the mornings. Then there was a bar/lounge (The captain quarters bar) which was dedicated to Admiral Floor guests and everyday between 11am and 5pm they had free, juices, canned soft drinks, filterd water, sweets, sweet lollipops and between 4-5pm they brought in dessert selections again free, apple crumble, chocolate brownies, chocolate cream bombs, fruit flan etc. It was usually lovely and peaceful in here with a fab view of the lake.
We would have a couple of soft drinks in here and take a soft drink each out with us.

The pool at the Newport bay was good too and as Admiral Floor guests there was no charge for towels, it was open 3pm-10pm daily and never got overcrowded we used it 3 out of the 5 days we were there.

We travelled with Easyjet and found them very good no problems whatsoever and very cheap. We used the high speed train from CDG to DLP and this was fine too.

My biggest advice would be not to go in the school holidays, as soon as it hits official opening time in the parks the rides are all at least an hour queue and if you want your child to meet a character book a meal - we did 3 character meals, only decent one was Cafe Mickey food was good but again expensive over 85 euros for 2 adults and 1 child. In the parks there are very few places that they queue to meet the characters its just usually a push in and shove event.

My daughter had a good holiday but DH and I both agree we won't be back.
  • Hi all - I'm booked to go to Eurodisney from 7 - 11 September. I've taken on board what everyone says about food. We paid the extra to go half board and have our evening meals in a choice of, I think it was, 17 different places (but not sure the names of these yet). I want to book a breakfast/lunch with the Princesses for my 4 year old daughter. Do you book this is advance or book at the hotel? Also I want to plan what rides we go on so is there a printable map anywhere on the internet? Any idea what queue lengths will be at this time of the year? TIA and sorry for all the questions x

You book the princess meal in advance as they get busy but you pay when your there or I THINK you can use your half board voucher at face value.

When my sister went september last year, 15th-19th she said it was really quiet and short ques
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.

Oh yes! We went last September and would agree with you! We had no food or drink included and was glad we were not staying any longer than we did!

The transport from CDG to the hotel (on-site) is excellent (we used the bus which is again VERY expensive!) because we didn't fancy the train!

Had the place been cheaper and the French didn't like to push so much we would consider going there again but the price difference between a couple of days there and 2 weeks in Florida is not that much!
  • I know its not really moneysaving in every sense but this is going to be our 3rd trip to DLP - i would really suggest on ordering the food vouchers when you book, it doesn't really save you much but at least once you get their, for the entire trip, you know you have sorted meals and don't have to budget for them. The first time we went we went for 4 days, we thought £400 would be plenty to cover spending and food - my we were so wrong, a good 90% of that went on food and we even had to eat in McDonalds one eve which is a pet hate of mine. So try to get food vouchers if poss, you'll have plenty of restaurants to chose from and won't have to worry about the money side so much!

    Have fun everyone!

I had half board plus vouchers and was disappointed at the choices on the set menus you had to order from, we used them 3 times at face value which was 54 euros and had to put about an extra 25 euros to it each time. The two meals where we had buffets - Lucky Nugget and at the Newport bay hotel buffet were ok but not great quality food. Cafe Mickey was by far the best food and service but we had to use our half board plus vouchers at face value in here and had to put extra money to it as it was so expensive - 54 euros from vouchers plus another 25 euros ish plus tip for 2 adults and 1 child. This was for pizza the one time and fish and chips the next time.
