We don't go until the 12th January, we haven't as yet booked HB, still thinking.......

Oooh, we are going then too!

We've booked the half board standard as it seemed a lot cheaper to us.

We tended to eat something from the counter places the last times but with the exchange rate, the half board option seemd comparible to those, and is three courses and drink.

    It's a no-brainer imo.

We will have MacDonalds on the fifth night!

Gosh, just read another post of yours, and we are staying in the Cheyenne too! We're going by Eurostar though. How long are you staying? I'm being nosey! :D

Anna24hmr - we used the TGV from the airport to disney and back again, it only took 10mins and was dead easy, we booked online and had to pick the tickets up from a machine in the station, the machine spoke english so no probs there. Coming back we needed to change the train we were booked on and managed that easily too.

We transferred on the bus a couple of years ago, so we have done both, I wouldn't do the bus again, the only thing with the TGV is that they are not that often, but having factored in the hour it takes on the bus plus all the pick up and drop offs it was still quicker even waiting 40 mins for the train.

I don't think we're booking half board, we've decided that we'll eat breakfast as late as possible and take some rolls and cheese etc for lunch and then it will have to be a healthy Maccys tea every night, it won't kill us, it's only for 4 days. This should be cheaper than the £135 for HB.

We are flying from Liverpool, staying for 3 nights, having 4 days in the park.

It's going to be very cold!

We need to get to Disney from CDG, there is a TGV at 10.27 which will cost us £45, one way for all of us, our flight is due to get us there for 09.55, what's the chances of getting our bags and finding where to get the TGV from in time for the 10.27??

Its hard to say really, which terminal are you flying into? the train station is at terminal 2 so if you need to travel between terminals you would need to get the monorail (we did from terminal 3) which isn't difficult but finding where you need to get it and then finding your way to the station and then picking up your tickets and finding the platform all adds time.

You need to see what time you land and what time the next TGV is at, I think we had about 75 minutes between the landing time and the time of the train, we made it with plenty of time to spare and we had to change terminals and also had a 5 yr old in tow!

If you have enough time to book your tickets in advance and have them posted to you I think I would do that as it would cut out the part where we had to find the machine that prints tickets and navigate printing them out, it wasn't too hard but if you have your tickets in hand then its just a case of getting to the station and finding the platform.

EDIT Zoe just saw your post after I wrote this, does it help? which terminal do you fly into?

    Thanks.

We fly into terminal 2B, I don't want to buy the tickets online in case we don't make it. Is it cheaper to buy online or the same as paying on the day?

Sorry to butt in, but how long would you say to leave for the drive to Asford from the travel lodge?

The train is 9.15 but we have to be gthere arouind 30 inutes earlier and need to park, so I'd say we would aim to be there for about 8.15. What time to you think we need to leave the hotel roughly?

How bad is the traffic? I'm wondering if we will miss the worst at that time?

    Hi Best Pud

as you are aiming to get to station to park at 8.15 - I thing you will be fine if you get in your car at 8am - the town shouldn't be too busy at that time, as no school runs yet (the reason I would be concerned is from the travel lodge to the station you have to go in to town and round the ring road) make sure when you get to the ring road (lidls and farm foods on the corners of traffic lights) you go left not right - it is slightly longer round town (as more traffic light stops), but you are less likely to miss the turning with flow of traffic.

You will need the time from parking - 1st to find a space, then negotiate getting across the car park (park on level 5 - the open level - think top level -and then you don't need to take the lift - handy when everyone is waiting for it when you come back home!) you then ghave to cross (covered) bridge to station. Get through to ticket / luggage/passport checks.
Then you will have time for toilet / drink / let the kids get their fun travel bag etc before the train arrives and everyone surges toward the platforms. If you don't have to use the lifts all the better as they can get very busy.

HTH, pM me if you can think of any other questions you want to ask, We have only been to DLP twice but with a two yr old and again with 5 year old and a 10month baby - so can tell you whats good for them, and cab give good advice about Ashford and travelling with Eurostar.

    Regional travel facilities (Metro/RER)
From Paris, the RER line A4 (Regional Express Railway) takes you quickly to the heart of Disneyland Resort Paris... In just 35 minutes, you can be at the gates of a fairytale land where all your dreams come true!
Just get out at the end of the line, Marne la Vall!e/Chessy station, 100 metres from the gates of Disneyland Park.

This is different from the TGV and may well be cheaper so will look into this also.

    thanks for the reply

was that via the RER train as i understand the TGV train is direct and takes only a few minutes but more expensive but goes direct to marne le valle or something like that???

thanks for the info, glad they have english option as i doubt i will have my brain functioning that time in the morning lol, no kids just too of us in our 20's (big kids at heart though lol!)

Yes this was on RER taking the B route onto the A.

If you do use the trains it is worth knowing that at the gaurd du nord? station there is a supermarket tucked up one corner of the shops that is realy cheap. Water was only 13 cent each, where as most other place want 2
    euros +.
We took a flask and made hot drinks in disney ( took the coffee and tea from the hotel room)
Coffee was 3 euro's inside disney.
Wrap up warm it was so cold, at one point I had a wool hat on and two hoods up and still frozen.( gone past caring what I looked like)
