oh and im so excited :D

as i am lazy i will copy and paste from DIS to here ! lol

    "well we are back .............................
I got to ride Crush ! finally ........... and it made me feel sick headache.gifrotfl.gif

Bit like cap'n our trip was not all good, but we enjoyed and glad we went @ xmas

I won't lie and promise a trippie as i know i wont do one rotfl.gif

but will list bits about each thing

Eurostar;Loved it! what a fab stressfree way to travel straight to the magic ( well after a 3 hr drive to Ashford!)

The travelodge @ ashford was fine too, clean and comfy beds and hot shower
what more do you need ?we all had a good night sleep on fri

Weather; actually not as cold as i had expected, bit wet and miserable though frown.gif while moving you keep really warm, only when we stopped to queue or wait for the parade did you begin to feel cold ( feet etc)

Explorers; really liked this hotel, room clean and comfy for 4 of us.Breakfast not bad didnt oay extra for english breakfast, was 6 euros)pool looked lovely but didnt have time to use it!
kids liked the various play areas, machines etc.Staff lovely.

shuttles............. hmm i dont think we are cut out for shuttle life rotfl.gif
actually,no it wasn't as bad as i have heard!
we did have to wait for a 3rd shuttle though ! as the first 2 were chocka ! ( with people barging on before other passengers could even get off !! ) this wasnt even at the the end of the night, but around 7pm!

hubby hated every second of it ,and threatened to get a taxi if the 3rd shuttle turned up full rotfl.gif

getting to the park was fine on sun morn,we wanted to get there for EMH so were pretty much the only people on at that time.

Christmassy bits; loved the tree/s the decorations, xmas music etc goodvibes.gif
we all enjoyed Mickeys show thumbsup2.gif
didnt queue to see santa, but had a wander round with a hot chocolate ( nutella hot choc love it,but not the price scared07.gif )
Loved the addition of the toy soldiers to the parade too

Atmosphere etc; I dont know whether i had bigged up xmas @ DLRP in my head or something, but i felt a bit disappointed frown.gif
I cant even put my finger on why?!

none of us were 100% fit and healthy TBH so may be that? we had all had coughs, cold, headache, sinusitis etc in the lead up to our trip frown.gif

hubby came down worse yday, and we ended up leaving him in the sports bar with his coffee and paper for a few hrs rotfl.gif
we didnt get back til 1.30am this morning and he had to be up @ 5am to get the train for work!

experienced out first "crush" of people while watching the parade on sat night ( we hadnt planned on watching it that night, but found we were stuck there so stayed and watched) then people decided that they didnt want to watch ( was raining) so tried to move where there was NO space whatsoever!

people were being shoved,my kids were quite scared frown.gif
in the end hubby ( who is quite a large rugby playing guy) put his hands up to stop people pushing and said (shouted) STOP PUSHING !!! theres no where to move to!

everyone just looked and stopped, then there was a nice space round us to enable us to move ( breathe!!) wink.gif

hated having to resort to that, but it was ridiculous!
even my 12 yr old commented on the fact that certain peoples manners, and behaviour were worse than every other trip we have been on yet frown.gif

lots more smoking in line etc this time too frown.gif

oh and grrrrrrr mad.gif @ a group of queue jumpers on crush and CMs doing nothing.I was sooooooooo mad!!

All in all ,i dont think we will be in a rush to go @ xmas again frown.gif

i much preferred our aug trip! similar number of people / crowd level ,but more relaxed
as you arent rushing around to get / stay warm and get out of the cold etc..............
light nights ,good weather ( well ish haha) no hassle of ski gear, taking gloves etc on / off /on /off when getting too warm on rides / in queues!
eating outside, and generally wandering around at a much more relaxed pace!

    *HIGHS*

    Eurostar
    Explorers hotel
    Mickeys winter show
Annettes ( food lush as always, missed the dancing on tables as was upstairs frown.gif but fab atmosphere throughout)
Nutella hot choc and mickey brioche mmmmmmm

    *LOWS*

Not being able to find camera charger before we went frown.gif so had to buy a disposable frown.gif grrrrrr
    other peoples rudeness etc
    not feeling great frown.gif
my youngest being sick on the eurostar on way home eek.giffrown.gif

wanting to go on Crush for past 2 trips, finally getting there early enough ( was about 15 others in front of us) THEN when get inside almost about to go on a "technical difficulty" grrrrrr,so waiting another 15 mins or so
THEN when i am finally on it makes me feel sick! ( bit too soon after breakfast i think rotfl.gif ) the boys LOVED it though!

we were gonna fly with easyjet in march, but realised the transfers at paris were gonna make cheap flights expensive,so for 4 adults we ended up paying £310 return on eurostar straight to resort

we're going in 2 weeks and 4 days. can't wait, but as of this second we have absolutely no spending money :o

we're going for 11 days - thankfully have already paid for half board, so brekkie and dinner sorted (oh and lunch too, thanks to a few pack-up rolls from breakfast time ;) ).

a couple of things we found very money-saving on our last trip there were...

we take fruit shoots with us, and a bottle of squash, and just refill the fruit shoots every morning to take to the park. saves loads of money on drinks during the day. we tended to only stop for one or two hot drinks during the (12 hour!) day as we had these :)

we took a flask with us, and also some cuppa soup sachets. hired a kettle from reception (or you could bring your own) and every morning we made up 2-3 sachets in the flask to drink while in the parks. lovely hot tomato soup for pennies :)

we took crisps, and other snacky things with us to snack on before bed time, while in the room. it was nice for the children to be able to just grab something to eat in the evenings (even if junk!) without us having to worry about how much money we had left :)

pack up a few rolls/croissants at breakfast time and wrap them in serviettes to take with you to eat for lunch

    hope that helps someone! :)

is anyone else worried about the state of the £/euro at the moment? with so little time left before we go i'm starting to think we'll be paying £1 for 0.80 cents by the time we go on 4th jan!!! :( half an hour ago it stood at 1.08 to the pound :(

The euro is shocking. Are you really spending 11 days in DLRP? That seems a hell of a lot.

We did alot of what you did when I took my daughters and was skint. We also went to the Auchan hypermarket at La Vallee, and got some stuff for dinner, like salad and stuff, it was pretty cool sitting in our room, having bed picnics, before returning to the park or village

    yep 11 :o lol

we were originally going for 6 (went for 8 last time) but we found such a good add-on price that it would have been silly to not take it up.

i wish now we'd have stuck to the 6 as we're going to have so little moneyto take with us.

but what's done is done and i know we'll have a great time whatever! our food's paid for so even if we run out of money completely then at least we'll still be able to go to the parks and eat!!! lol

hi just back from Disneyland Paris. Stayed in the Cheyenne, and booked half board plus. Would recommend the half board option. Eating out is very expensive. We made a few ham rolls in the morning and took them with us for lunch in the park. I also bought some water and bottles of coke at the airport and brought them too. I took apples and crisps and a bag of chocolate to add to our picnics. Oh and bring some coffee powder or tea bags coz we had a kettle in the room. This worked out very well, although we did have hot chocolates and a crepe in the park(cost for 2 was 10 euros). It was bitterly cold so thermals and layers are the order of the day. Ski Jackets and thermal gloves. Went to Paris from the train station about £29 euros for 1 adult and 1 child under 11. children under 3 travel free. This train ticket did all trains for one day. Oh and if you want disney souveniers buy them when you get back! Cheaper here.

    Hope this helps.

I am thinking of adding half board onto our booking now due to the current exchange rate, we go on the 12th January, can we add it now or should we have done it at the time of booking?

    Thanks
If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in :D
