  • Hi,
So, we are finally going to book!!
We are looking at the New York Hotel (a step up from what we originally planned, but Sequoia now sold out and its not that much more expensive!) Wed-Sat, and thinking of booking the standard shuttle from the airport. I've seen something advertised saying theres a train that only takes 10 mins that you can get from the airport? Is this reliable? How long does the coach transfer take?

Also, if anyone has any tips at all? With twins on the way I'm likely to be super tired, and we are trying to do this relatively on a budget whilst enjoying as much as possible.

I'll be back with more ridiculous questions I'm sure

Thank you so much for any help you can give me

I wouldn't recommend either the TGV train or the VEA coach from CDG airport. I'd book a shared or private shuttle in advance, this will be the fastest, most convenient, and possibly the cheapest, method of travel between CDG and DLP. I use rstransports, shared shuttle price, and rarely have to share with any other party :). Shared/private shuttle takes typically 40 minutes or less and its a door-to-door service. TGV - yes the actual journey time is 10 minutes by train, but you have to get to the train station inside terminal 2, which can involve a 15-minute or longer walk from your arrival gate, or an internal train journey first from another terminal, and then of course its a scheduled train service so you have to wait for your train.
The VEA coach (now called Magic Express I believe) is the slowest method of all, easily one hour for the journey once you have got to the coach pick-up point at the airport.

staying at the Hotel New York you are close enough to the Village and park entrances to be able to get back to your room for a good lie down if you need it, and also make the most of the shows (especially in the Studios) where you can have a seat and be entertained all at the same time.

Balletshoes - you are an angel, thank you so much for your quick response!! I'm looking at the transfer you suggested as we speak!! :)

I thought I'd share, I just made a huge saving by booking through Disneylandparis.fr.

I've booked Davy Crockett Ranch for 2 nights/3 days, 2 adults, 1 14yo, through the UK site it was £825, through the French site €709! That's a massive £285 difference, so it's always worth a look!

Looking to go to DLP in November this year for the Christmas themed event.

Are the weekends still very busy at this time of year? Trying to decide whether to got Monday to Friday or Thursday to Monday.

yes, still stupid busy at the weekends - and in fact, some Christmas season weekends in November/early December historically have the "park at capacity crowd level" signs out from late morning. I'd go midweek and avoid the weekend altogether in Xmas season.
  • Hi,
So, we are off to DLP on Wednesday, our little girl is so excited. We did consider booking the Princess lunch at Auberge but at £140+ for the 3 of us it seemed so expensive - has anyone done this? She really wants to meet the princesses. I've seen something about the princess pavilion but you have to book? When can I book this? How many princesses will she get to meet in there?
    Thank you

    Hi
Can anyone please tell me about the Sequoia Lodge hotel and the differences between the standard rooms and the golden forest rooms. Is it worth paying the difference? Thanks

at the pavilion you get to see one princess. They change the system there every so often, its best to just go to the princess pavilion area (between Its a Small World and the Teacups in Fantasyland) as early as you can in the morning (ie at ropedrop) and see what system they are using ie queue up for a timed ticket, or queue up at the entrance to go into the pavilion. Whichever way you do it, you'll be queueing!

at the Princess meal at Auberge de Cendrillon, you typically meet Cinderella, her mice Suzy and Perla, another Princess or possibly 2, and one of the Princes.

eta - if you look at the park programme for this time of year (it won't change again until Valentines, and then only for that weekend), you'll see Aurora, Tiana, and Aladdin (so Jasmine too) have their own meet n greet spots around the main park.

it depends what the difference in price is, and whether you'd be back at your hotel to use the perks.

golden forest gets you a separate breakfast room (quieter, smaller, and I think it still includes some hot food items as well as the usual continental) , and access to a lounge with soft and hot drinks and snacks in the afternoon.
