Re. booking on the French disney site, can someone please also advise when I choose 'France' whether I then need to click on the link below for "autres regions" or "Ile-de-France"?

its autres regions for hotel/park tickets bookings, and ile-de-france for park tickets/shows special offers only.

Also would I need a french address or do I just use my UK address? will the details be posted, or would I have to opt for an e.mail confirmation only or something?

It's looking such a good deal that way but I obviously want to be 100% sure I've got the right french site and that it will definitely be a guaranteed booking :O.

Sorry for all the questions... but I <3 this thread!!

no you don't need a French address, complete the booking as per usual with all your normal details, but leave the country at France. Nothing comes to you by post, its all by email anyway.

I've booked using other country's offers before through DLP, its always worked out fine, no problems when you check in at all etc. Be aware though (again, not a problem) that if you book on the French site, you'll get your confirmation in French :).

Yay!! I have booked and if I've done it right, which I think I have lol, we've just saved £394 by booking on the French site :) SO pleased, thanks to all that have helped!!

Still can't help but be tempted with the half board option... we had it free last year and loved it. We ate at Walts, Hunters Grill and Cafe Mickey.. Having looked on dlpguide it looks like if we eat at those restaurants again (first two certainly) we would kind of break even with the cost of the half board plus... does that sound right? As we are staying 4 nights this time though we could save a bit and have a burger one night, so that would work out slightly cheaper overall. But I did love the food and the afternoon treat worked well to keep all refreshed and keep us going until dinner.

Should I just leave as is at the moment and check the next offer on the french site and see if it works out cheaper at that point to change than the 400€ additional it is at present. I assume that as it would cost more than what we have booked, we wouldn't pay any amendment charges?

Failing that I think I've read that I can just ring the french number and add the half board to our booking at any point prior to arrival - is that right?

Finally, lol, is it still the case that if staying at the Sequoia it would be the half board PLUS option?

Thanks in advance, sorry for all the questions.

depending on the ages of the kids etc in your party, i often find the French/Belgian/Dutch sites have better prices for me - last April I saved over £200 using the French site on a 3-night stay, and in December I saved around £150 on a 3-night stay on the Belgian site, and both of those were for only one adult and free kids.

yes you have it right, if an offer comes along on the French site which is better you can change to it and add the meal plan etc, and as long as its a little more expensive than the package you've already booked, you don't pay any amendment fees, just the difference in price.
I would leave it until nearer your trip dates, you can always call guest services to have the meal plan added if you choose to do that.

yes, you get half board plus at the Sequoia Lodge - but if you're paying to add it to your booking, you can choose whichever dining plan you like to add to your package.

It's the May half term holidays.. depending on which date that week it ranged from £150 saving to £394... It's because it's free on French site for under 12's and with the uk site, I'm paying for my 8 year old. :)

Thanks for all the advice; that clears up my confusion perfectly :)
  • Hi, please does anyone know with regards to the VEA shuttle does it run more regular from the main Disney hotels to the airport than from the partner hotels. Looking at the timetable it seems that this is the case and if so can you catch it from any hotel. I was looking to go from Dream Castle but it's not as regular as the main ones.

do you really want to use the VEA? Nowadays its one of the slowest, and can be one of the more expensive, ways of getting from the airport (certainly CDG) and the DLP area hotels.
But yes, you are right, the VEA shuttles don't serve the partner hotels as often as the DLP onsite ones. Its no problem though, you can just hop on your partner hotel free shuttle down to the DLP bus terminus and then either catch a free shuttle to one of the onsite hotels, or walk (if you haven't got loads of luggage) down to the Disneyland Hotel and through the lobby there, and catch the VEA from there.

If there are 3 or more of you in your group, I'd suggest you book a shared/private shuttle service in advance instead of using the VEA - try rstransports. ezyshuttle.com, tioshuttle etc
  • Yes, we're a family of 4. I was thinking the VEA would be the cheapest but will now be rethinking that. I'll defo have a look into the above sites. What about a train from CDG, I've heard that mentioned on reviews?

    Many thanks for the advice
