We are going to the DCR as well with friends and I just called Disney and asked them to link our bookings. She said they can't guarantee cabins next to each other though
Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!

    Hi Balletshoes

We are off to DLP on the 14th February for 4 nights/5 days and I'm hoping you can help with some questions, as it's been 20 years since I went as a child!

We are staying in the DCR - there is myself, my husband and 3 year old son. We are going with our friends and their 4 children (10, 8, 5, 2), so have 2 premium cabins booked. We booked separately through disneyholidays.co.uk - do you know if we can ask to be next to (or at least near) each other?

yes you can certainly ask to be put near each other, just call Disney with both your booking reference numbers.

Is it quite easy to get to the Auchan supermarket?

i believe so, but i've never done it.

We've been looking at various food options - but finding them really confusing! Do you think any of the meal plans are worth it? Am I wrong in that it doesn't actually save you money? The positive to me is that you've paid in advance so wouldn't feel as expensive as handing over cash?? Do you know if you can do meal plans for part of your stay (2 days) or do you have to do the duration? Would I have to phone them to add it on as I can't find anything online about booking.

No, none of the meal plans are worth it if you have to pay for them. You have to buy them for the entire duration of your stay, and for each person booked on your party. You have to call to add a meal plan to your booking.

Is there any other way to prebook and actually prepay for a meal or two other than the meal plans?

yes, you can pre-book and prepay for Cafe Mickey breakfast, lunch or dinner, or the Princess character meal. These are all expensive though, so unless you are sure you want to do this, I wouldn't bother pre-paying.

We would like to take the kids for one of the character experiences - we were looking at caf! mickey - do you think that is the best? Would you recommend breakfast or another meal?

now i'd say Cafe Mickey breakfast, as lunch and dinner are set menu only, and much more expensive than breakfast.

So sorry for all the random questions, and really appreciate any help you can offer,

    Thanks, Lucy xx

Not long to go now, I'm sure you'll see lots of differences compared to 20 years ago :D.

    Hi all,

I'm going to Disney with our daughter in a month - we've been a few times but this time we managed to get free standard half board meal plan. So...

What 3 restaurants which you choose to eat at (they can be anything from standard to premium - I'm happy to pay extra)?

How do I use the vouchers for restaurants which aren't standard (from previous reading I know that I can use the vouchers at face value but what is face value for one adult and one child?)

If I use our meal vouchers at face value, do I have to buy a meal each or can I for instance buy a pizza and a side to share from Caf! Mickey for example as we are not big eaters? In other words, am I using them literally as if they are cash?

When is the best time to go to Caf! Fantasia for a little treat? Mid morning, mid afternoon?

I'm sure there were menu's on DLP guide but I can't see them anymore - does anyone know where they are?

I though I read that we could ask the hotel if we were allowed breakfast in the parks instead...is this correct or do I need to pay? If so, where is best to have breakfast? Caf! Mickey? DLH?

    Thank you!:)

You can only have breakdast in your hotel. Sometimes in the summer it's available at one of the park restaurants. Cafe mickey costs £14 per person to upgrade.

    Menus are here. http://www.dlpguide.com/planning/dining/restaurant-menus/m/

You can't order a pizza and a side at CM anymore - it's a set menu deal now.

ooh that really depends on what you prefer - table service, buffet service? meat, fish, veggie?

if you get a glossy brochure from your local travel agent, all the values of all the meal plans are in there (i usually have one but i spilled coffee all over mine recently and it had to go in the bin :rotfl:). You use your standard vouchers as their cash value (printed on the back of the voucher) when you get your bill to pay for your meal.

If I use our meal vouchers at face value, do I have to buy a meal each or can I for instance buy a pizza and a side to share from Caf! Mickey for example as we are not big eaters? In other words, am I using them literally as if they are cash?

unfortunately you can no longer share pizza etc at Cafe Mickey, from November last year that all changed, its set menu only at Cafe Mickey now, so you'd have to buy a meal each. You can't use them literally as cash, in the sense that you can still only use them in selected restaurants at DLP.

When is the best time to go to Caf! Fantasia for a little treat? Mid morning, mid afternoon?

mid-afternoon, when you're flagging a little after being in the parks since morning :).

you can ask, but breakfast in the park is not always available. But yes, if it is, you can have breakfast in the park instead of at your hotel, for no extra charge. Ask at your hotel reception. You don't get to choose where breakfast in the park is held, DLP does that, its only one restaurant per day, and they will inform you when you get your timeslot for it which restaurant it will be.

If so, where is best to have breakfast? Caf! Mickey? DLH?

    Thank you!:)

Everyone has to pay to have breakfast at Cafe Mickey, whether you are an onsite hotel guest or not. I wouldn't pay for DLH breakfast anymore, the charge has been increased to 35 euros per adult!

You also can't use your meal plan vouchers for any of the onsite hotel breakfasts, only specified table and buffet service restaurants, for lunch or dinner, subject to the restaurant opening times and days.

Thank you so much ballet shoes:beer: and thanks for the menu links.

Last question, my husband may be able to come with us last minute; if he does, is it correct that I can add him to our hotel room on arrival for just the price of the French tax per night?
In this case, do we pay for the hotel breakfast for him or is it included in the room price?

Obviously, my daughter and I will have meal vouchers - does he then just pay for whatever he eats when we have meals together?

    Thanks

yes, you add him to the room when you check in (or when he arrives if its later than you). You pay only local tax for him, and at the onsite hotels this also gets him breakfast with you.

Of course you can still all eat together, your meal plan vouchers will just be used at cash value and taken off the total bill for the 3 of you :).

If you like most things and don't mind buffets, I like Plaza Gardens in the main park and Restaurant des Stars in the Studios (these may only be open for lunch rather than dinner though). A similar restaurant in the Village is La Grange at Buffalo Bills.

  • Hi, I'm planning on going to Disneyland Paris in October with partner and 2 kids but am not well travelled at all and only holiday in the UK. I have started to look at prices and want to book things individually to get the cost down and not stay in the main DLP hotels as its too expensive. Can anybody recommend any hotels, like I think is there partner hotels which we can then shuttle to DLP on. I don't think I can book the Eurostar yet, looking into it a bit would it be about April for travelling Oct half term? Where would be the best place to book a 2 day hopper ticket. I've had a Google and saw Attraction Tix for 4 people £371. Are they trustworthy.? Many thanks in advance.
