I have stayed there, but apart from breakfast I haven't eaten there.
this is the official link for the hotel -

Hi,
we are looking to book to go to DLP in August but struggling to decide which hotel.
We like the fact that Sequoia Lodge has a pool but then like the themes of Santa Fe, Cheyenne and Davy Crocket Ranch.
Does anyone know if you are able to access the pools in the hotel if you stay at another Disney Hotel?
Also can I have opinions on which hotel to stay in with a 2 and 5 year old please?
Thank you0 -

no you can't use any of the onsite hotel pools if you are not a guest of that particular hotel.
As to which one - well they all have their selling points - the main one about the DCR being it does have a pool, and you get a separate bedroom in the cabins so you have more space, you also have cooking facilities which can be very handy with young children.
The Sequoia Lodge is the closest out of your 4 options to the parks, easy walking distance to the Village and parks (10 minutes). Its also the most recently refurbished throughout. The Santa Fe and Cheyenne are a little further away (20 minutes with young children).0 -
Hi there,
Just looking at the prices for Half Board Plus Meal Plans for Disney Paris for May 2015.
For ONE meal per person and a soft drink, isn't 28euros a bit expensive?
What, in theory would a burger and fries with coke cost in a restaurant?
We're going on a budget, hoping to follow the crowd and stock up on food for lunch at breakfast etc.
Also I have booked already, do I have to call the French number to book the meal plan? Can this not be done online?
Also, with tickets for the Disney park - will this include the Studios too?
Many thanks0 -

that one meal is an all-you-can-eat buffet, or a 3-course table service meal.
What, in theory would a burger and fries with coke cost in a restaurant?
onsite, an adult counter service burger meal deal is around 10 euros, its around 6 euros for a kids meal deal.

yes, if you want to add a meal plan after you've booked, you need to call DLP to do so - you don't need to call France though, you can call the normal booking line. You can't do this online.
Also, with tickets for the Disney park - will this include the Studios too?
Many thanks
yes, the tickets included in your hotel package through Disney are park hopper tickets.0 -
Wow, thanks for your quick reply. Didn't realise it included 3 courses
It probably would be cheaper to eat as we go, but am definitely one for budgeting and now I know it includes a good meal, cafe disney lunch and lots of choice, I think I feel a bit better about it!!
How do I pre book the restaurants please? We go in May.
What would you recommend re spending money? Is exchanging money before we go the cheapest way? Am looking at £3 transacation and exchange fee with Lloyds if I use my card.
Thanks again.0 -

Because (apart from Cafe Mickey) you can eat from the a la carte menu and have one or 2 courses, rather than being restricted to having to have 3 courses, I personally don't think the dining plans at DLP are worth paying for.

There is a dedicated dining reservations number, you can book restaurant tables at DLP at 60 days out, but theres really no need to do it that early, a couple of weeks before you go will be plenty of time. The number is 0033 160 304050.

I change sterling to euros before I go, and use cash.
If you are staying onsite, you can register a debit or credit card at reception, then use your hotel ID card to charge meals/souvenirs to your room. This way, there is only one charge on your card when the amount hits a certain level (starting at around 300 euros) and if you don't hit that level of spend before you check out, then there is only one charge made to your card, when you check out.
If you need to use the cash machines at DLP, withdraw enough cash to last you a couple of days at a time - the one time I did that the foreign transaction fee levied by my card provider was pretty much cancelled out by the better exchange rate i got from the cash machine, as you get the bank rate, not the tourist rate, from the atm machines in France for euros.0 -
I got a good deal on booking.
We go a few times, and found the best way is to use the shareholder offers, (which I bought the shares specifically for) and annual pass discounts.
Ring and book the accommodation, using the annual pass discount, (35% on the dream pass, as opposed to 25% on the shareholder discount)
When you arrive, go to the park, buy the dream pass, (at the 15% discount on the shareholder card) and show it to reception when you check in later.
Then you have a years entry to the park, discount on everything in the park, and a saving of 10 or 20% on the best package price I could find.
Subsequent visits in the year are just for the cost of the accommodation, at a good discount of up to 50% on the package price.
It all has to be done by phone, but they do speak english, (eventually) if you don't speak french.0 -
Hi Balletshoes
We are off to DLP on the 14th February for 4 nights/5 days and I'm hoping you can help with some questions, as it's been 20 years since I went as a child!
We are staying in the DCR - there is myself, my husband and 3 year old son. We are going with our friends and their 4 children (10, 8, 5, 2), so have 2 premium cabins booked. We booked separately through disneyholidays.co.uk - do you know if we can ask to be next to (or at least near) each other?
Is it quite easy to get to the Auchan supermarket?
We've been looking at various food options - but finding them really confusing! Do you think any of the meal plans are worth it? Am I wrong in that it doesn't actually save you money? The positive to me is that you've paid in advance so wouldn't feel as expensive as handing over cash?? Do you know if you can do meal plans for part of your stay (2 days) or do you have to do the duration? Would I have to phone them to add it on as I can't find anything online about booking.
Is there any other way to prebook and actually prepay for a meal or two other than the meal plans?
We would like to take the kids for one of the character experiences - we were looking at caf! mickey - do you think that is the best? Would you recommend breakfast or another meal?
So sorry for all the random questions, and really appreciate any help you can offer,
Thanks, Lucy xx0
