[Sorry, notaneuser, for jumping on your question!]
the DLPguide is a great resource for menu prices and options etc -

Buffets are a great idea for families like your SIL, who has a child aged under 3, because at buffets in DLP under-3s eat free.0 -
balletshoes wrote: »my one suggestion before you book everything this way, is to look at the French version of the official DLP site, and the UK version, for one adult (and any free kids - so for the UK site kids under 7 are free in December, on the French site kids under 12 are free). How old are your children?
If, for example, you found a good price for a one-adult package at the Santa Fe or Cheyenne hotels on the DLP sites, and they included both your children free in the price, you'd only have to buy one AP for the other adult, and that adult can be added to the room at check-in for local taxes only (ie 2 or 3 euros per night). AP holders do this all the time at DLP onsite (I'll be doing it myself in December this year).
A quick question regarding this approach of buying a 1 person package and using your annual passes.
We got 3 Dreams passes this summer from CE-Multi, note tickets were supposed to be sent to a friend in france, but that got messed up so CE sent them to the hotel so we got them when we arrived!
Do you think it is cheaper to get a package price for 1 person then add the extra's to the room then it is to use the Dreams pass to get the room with the 35% discount?? I am finding it hard to locate the actual prices of just the rooms so we can work out the maths!
Note I know it will be cheaper to stay off site, but its nice to know how much it would cost at one of the onsite hotels.
Cheers

Mike yes it will more than likely be cheaper to book a one~ adult package. you need to phone DLP on their normal booking line to get AP prices for room only ~ you cant get this information in any other way.0

Can someone please help or offer advice . . .
Yesterday booked a 4 night/5 day trip for 2 adults & 3 children (16, 13 & 7) to travel on 27th Jan 15 . . . This will be my 4th visit, and Ive in the past found the trick to book through the disney.com site (Ireland) and pay in euro's for a small reduction, however, this year I forgot, however, I did try various options to book to reduce the price, and on fiddling with the childrens ages with 1 adult etc, amanged to got £3 saving, also asked about my DD being 7 then would she be eleigible for the under 7's offer, but they said no, they have to be 1 day off being 7???
However, reading through some of the comments on here, I notice that if I had booked on the .com site / french site they are offering kids under 12 for free - If this is the case do you think I could contact Disney and ask them to honour this, or is it worth me cancelling (is there a charge as only booked last night?) and re-booking through the frence site?
Would be great for any advice etc . . . . ThanksLoves Money Saving Expert so much, my husband says I should marry M.L! :money: Jo - 2k10:j0 -
No unfortunately you cant change a trip booked on one country,s website for one on another country,s.
If the price on the french site is much cheaper than what you have already booked you might want to cancel, but you will lose your booking fee of 16 pounds PLUS 15% of the total cost of the package you have booked, as a cancellation fee (more if you are already within 60 days of your check~in date).
Eta ~ as you are going for 4 nights you might find the french isnt any cheaper than what you have already paid as 2 nights free equals almost 40% off, the french site price is 35% off and in your case one free child.0 -
So, I've calculated that if we ate at Auberge, Cafe Mickey, Bills and Inventions 1 night each we'd save about £30 with the premium meal plan and get the afternoon treat thing x4 too. (And hopefully save the ridiculous queueing at the Princess pavilion!)
So my next question is, how good is the character interaction at Inventions? And could you (in theory) do the Auberge more than once? Are there any restrictions on number of times per restaurant?Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

I don't get your choices of restaurants coming to anywhere near the £480 the premium plan would cost you (I get around £435).
The characters at Inventions and Cafe Mickey are similar if not the same ones. Its the same kind of deal, the characters come around one or 2 at a time to each table, for photo/autograph/playing opportunity.
Theres no restriction on which restaurants you can use your meal plan voucher at (as long as its one of the participating ones) so you can eat at Auberge more than once if you wish (again though, you won't get a completely different set of princesses if you eat there twice, some will be the same as the first time).0 -

Premium plan is £464 for the 3 of us (2 adults, 1 child) for 4 nights.
I calculated the costs of the meals at the 4 places according to the link you gave. Total is 619.23 euros which is apparently £493 on today's exchange rate. Still nowhere near 10% I grant you.
Just playing around with possibilities at the moment.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

but thats the full price of those restaurants, paying on the day. You get a discount on both Buffalo Bills and Auberge by pre-paying for those and adding them to your DLP booking, and Cafe Mickey isn't a premium restaurant - its a plus one (so basically you'd be paying around £120 for a set of premium meal vouchers for Cafe Mickey and their set meal price (which is still overpriced) only costs £77).0 -

As I say, I'm playing around with options at the moment. Thanks for your help.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0
