Can someone please help or offer advice . . .

Yesterday booked a 4 night/5 day trip for 2 adults & 3 children (16, 13 & 7) to travel on 27th Jan 15 . . . This will be my 4th visit, and Ive in the past found the trick to book through the disney.com site (Ireland) and pay in euro's for a small reduction, however, this year I forgot, however, I did try various options to book to reduce the price, and on fiddling with the childrens ages with 1 adult etc, amanged to got £3 saving, also asked about my DD being 7 then would she be eleigible for the under 7's offer, but they said no, they have to be 1 day off being 7???

However, reading through some of the comments on here, I notice that if I had booked on the .com site / french site they are offering kids under 12 for free - If this is the case do you think I could contact Disney and ask them to honour this, or is it worth me cancelling (is there a charge as only booked last night?) and re-booking through the frence site?

Would be great for any advice etc . . . . Thanks

FUTURE DISNEY BOOKERS PLEASE BE AWARE -

Re: my original message above, following a reply from a fellow MSE user, I checked the Disneylandparis.fr / French site, and lo and behold they are offering 35% and CHILDREN UNDER 12 GO FREE . . . . This is only offered to France & Belgium sites . . . .

On pricing the same dates and hotel for my booking, the difference in prices if £143 if I had booked through the French site or they were offering the children under 12 offer on the british site. . . .

Action - I have contacted Disney who informed me to contact their French offer tomorrow, one very irate email has been sent to them asking them 'why this offer isn't fairly offered to all websites/countries' and a phone call to the UKECC (EU trading standards) will also be made tomorrow!!!

Therefore, if you are thinking of booking Euro Disney for winter arrivals, go through the French site or the .com / .fr site as there are better offers . . . I have previously in the past done this through the .com site / Ireland as the price will be in Euro's, so you get a cheaper rate due to conversion, tip to remember when adding your address just put your country as France.

Hope this helps someone to make a saving and receive a free under 12 child place, fingers crossed they honour it for me.

No unfortunately you cant change a trip booked on one country,s website for one on another country,s.

If the price on the french site is much cheaper than what you have already booked you might want to cancel, but you will lose your booking fee of 16 pounds PLUS 15% of the total cost of the package you have booked, as a cancellation fee (more if you are already within 60 days of your check~in date).

Eta ~ as you are going for 4 nights you might find the french isnt any cheaper than what you have already paid as 2 nights free equals almost 40% off, the french site price is 35% off and in your case one free child.

Thanks balletshoes - Have priced it up through French site and it works out £143 cheaper, cant believe this, it may not seem a lot to some people, but for a family of 5, this could have paid for all our flights or even have paid for a 'family meal' in one of the resort resturants as a treat!!!!

I know you're cross, but please don't do this. Companies are under no obligation to offer the same prices to customers in every EU country. As a UK resident you're not actually supposed to be booking via the french site or call centre, you're taking advantage of a loophole, which if you make a fuss is likely to be closed (as was the annual pass loophole).

Merlin (of Alton Towers fame) probably doesn't advertise offers on French cereal boxes. Would you want them to?!

(I'll be kind and won't mention that a bit more thorough research from you before jumping in would have avoided this situation. ;))

i understand - but i'll be honest, if you want DLP to go out of their way to let you cancel one booking, take another offer, and not charge you any fees for it, I don't think being irate is the way to go. Their full T&Cs are contained in your booking confirmation email, they are also published in their brochures (online and glossy).

DLP is not contravening any rules by offering different target audiences different offers.

Thanks for your responses, however, I'm a typical complainer, you don't get nothing if you don't try, so its worth a try.

Yes I agree a bit more research would have helped . . . It appears that in May 2014 there was articles in the Daily Telegraph and Dailymail about how DLP charge British customers more than French, and there was a family featured saying how they use the French website to book their holidays at DLP, so, considering this was in 2 of the biggest British daily 'papers' sometime ago, and they still haven't pulled the deal following the bad press, I will continue to take my query further, who knows they may honour it, but I will remain calm and not irate!!!

Just hope other DLP bookers can take advantage now of this identified discrepancy / offer!

its swings and roundabouts regarding which country offer is best - sometimes its the UK one, sometimes its another country. Its not the case that French offers are always better than UK offers, at all.
  • I am moving my Feb trip to 2016, what is the best way to go about this, does anyone else know?

My kids are not really into it, we went to a theme park and some kids in the row told my son about all the people that have been killed on the rides and now he will not ride anything. We've decided to fly to the US for a cruise instead as we get a deal on that. Thanks for any help. I think moving the date might be cheaper than cancelling. Total price was £1404 for the hotel and tickets for 4 people.

you'll need to phone DLP (on their normal booking line) and discuss moving the date of your trip with them.

Great, thank you. Thought there might be another way, I will do that today.
  • Bump ...

We will be in Disneyland Paris between Sunday 19th and Friday 24th October if anyone needs sponsorship for the 10% discount on AP.

Feel free to PM me so we can work out the details.
