Thank you, Mrs Sparrow, yes, I was talking about cows milk lol
I've been looking at offsite hotels and I'm leaning towards Explorers because of the childrens play area, does anyone have any experience of this hotel?
Also, we will be using the vea shuttle service to and for Orly airport, is it easy to get the 54 from the drop off at Disney station? How much does it cost or is it a free shuttle service?0 -

The Explorers is a good family-friendly hotel, with a happy hour in its bar each evening, a pizza bar, and indoor and outdoor play areas.

very easy, its free, and where the VEA drops you off at the DLP bus terminus, you just cross the road and you'll see the bus stop for the 54 bus (its the first bus stop you come to when you are leaving the parks, nearest the entrance to the Village).0 -

The price doesn't include transport and there isn't a choice on the Disney site to exclude the Half Board.
I thought it was rather expensive but wasn't sure if it was the 'best' price available
does it have to be October half term week? If your week is the one at the very end of October, you're sharing it with all of France and most of Europe, so its a very busy week, and also why the onsite hotel prices are so expensive, its a peak season week at DLP.0 -

It mentions a tea time treat, what is this please?
Any recommendations on restaurants in this plan for an 8 year old who is quite a fussy eater?
Thanks
Do you have the meal plan already included in your package, or are you considering paying for it to be added (because if you have to pay for it, its not worth it to be honest).
teatime treat is a voucher per person aged 3 or over in your party, per night booked at your hotel, which gives you an afternoon treat (after 3pm) of a hot or cold drink and a cake/pastry. The participating restaurants where you can use these vouchers are on the back of them, and the cake/pastry options differ between restaurants.
If you have a fussy eater the buffet restaurants are probably your best bet (apart from possibly Agrabah Cafe in the main park) as in most of the buffet restaurants you'll find kids food options of various fish/chicken in breadcrumbs, chips, potatoes, plain pasta and separate pasta sauce, pizza slices etc.0 -
Hi all,
This my first and forum post so apologies if I get it wrong. I'm looking for help/advise for booking my Disneyland trip.
We'd like to go for a small break either in April or May school break next year. We'd like to go as cheaply as possible and when its less busy (I know this will be hard in the hols) We live just north of London so any form of transport is o.k. for us and we are 2 adults and 2 kids aged 9&7.
From reading through this very helpful thread I have leaned towards driving there via the tunnel and staying at the Davy Crockett for 4nights/5 days ( with the 2 nights free this seems to come out the same price as 2 days so a no brainer.) Monday-Friday ticks the quieter than weekend box and again from reading here France school hols are slightly different to ours so they break up on April 11th and we are the 4th and they don't have a May him so I'm guessing either of those dates would be my best bet for a slightly quieter trip.
The thing I really need help with is my quotes come in around £1000.
Others seem to get much lower quotes even staying at the more expensive hotels. I would consider staying anywhere off site and buying tickets seperately but with just the tickets on the dlp site for 5 days seem to come in at near that price anyway so it seems to make sense to stay at Davy C and get magic hours.
Others with similar situations seem to be getting much lower quotes.
Is mine good? Should I look harder at doing it seperatly? Should I wait for a better deal?
Any advise would be wonderful. Em. X
unfortunately neither of your children qualify for free onsite hotel places for DLP, so thats why your quote is expensive. Have you tried quoting for one adult only on the package, and then seeing how much cheaper it would be to add the 3 others in your party to the Davy Crockatt ranch on arrival (and pay local tax only of around 3 euros per night per person) and buy annual passes when you arrive? Remember to look at the room type of the package you are being offered on the DLP site too, often you can change the room type and save some money that way.
DLRPMagic has a great page on their website explaining all about annual passes, including the prices etc. As you are intending staying in an onsite hotel (Davy Crockatts counts as onsite) you could buy your Francilien annual passes (the cheapest ones) a couple of months in advance of your trip direct from DLP by post, and these would serve as your park tickets for the entire duration of your stay. Blackout dates on any annual pass don't count if you stay onsite (but Francilien passes have 2 non-contractual dates too, so thats why you'd need to buy them in advance through the post from DLP before you arrive if you choose those ones).0 -
Hi there
totally new here but been lurking and reading up on all this info so thank you so much.
we are looking to go to disneyland paris next summer, can anyone tell me the best time to book for june/july 2015?
Its for 2 adults 2 children (will be 2 and 6) and can go anywhere from 26th june, I can check prices now and it comes about £860 for 4 nights 5 days sequioa hotel but I ideally need it cheaper to make it possible for us.
any ideas when the deals are released or sales happen for summer?
Thank you
what kind of discount are you getting at that price? ie 2 nights free?0 -

I was at the Explorers hotel last week and I will definitely return to it. I was on the 1st floor where the rooms are a tad tired looking but clean and comfortable. It reminded me of a travellodge type room. There was 4 of us with 2 twin beds and a double. The toilet was separate from the shower room where the sink also was.. There was enough closet space and a safe. The hairdryer was heavy, I was glad I had brought my own.
The buffet breakfast was good, no complaints from my kids who could get coco pops , rice krispies, corn flakes etc as well as rolls, pain au chocolat, croissants. I observed a few people who were making up ham/cheese rolls for later. I also did this discretely and the staff did not bat an eyelid...This saved on lunches at the parks. Also at the parks we were able to constantly refill our water bottles at the water fountains outside the toilet areas so this also saved a few euros!
The childrens play areas were good both inside and out. The swimming pool area was clean but all men and boys had to wear speedo/trunks type swimwear, no shorts allowed. My kids loved the pool. There is a disney shop within the hotel which was slightly cheaper than the shops in the parks.
The pink shuttle bus is free and was regular but very crowded. You just have to get on and defend your space ! On the plus side the Explorers was the 1st drop off at night and the 1st pick up during the day. They ran every 10 mins until 12:30pm then every 25mins thereafter. The last bus back was about 12:50am
The 54 bus stop was the closest to the park opposite the train station.
Hope this helps!Must learn not to count chickens before they are hatched!!!!:D
Every day is a new challenge not a new problem!:p

you can just pay the difference in price between the fantasy and Dream and upgrade your son's pass to a Dream for the rest of its validity. You just do this at the AP office inside the main park.0 -
