  • Flights and hotel booked :D

Has anyone been to the La Villee? Is it easy to get to? Worth it?

Also, I've seen mentioned somewhere that there's a supermarket where you can stock up on drinks and snack ect?

Anyone can advise on ferry booking, looking to to leave 30th around 10am Aug to return 3rd around 2pm Sept

DOver to Calias, I can only find about £120 for ferry and £150 for Eurotunnel..

Can anyone find a better deal please?

    Thanks in advance.

Which ferry company did you look at?

There are currently three which are myferrylink (used to be Sea France & now owned by Eurotunnel), P & O Ferries and DFDS.

The cheapest will almost definitely be myferrylink, we used these in June when we went to DLP (made a huge £100 saving against Eurotunnel with our motorhome) and will travel with them again in September. We used to use P&0 - they have more ferries than the others and there is a big possibility of being bumped-up to an earlier ferry because of this (subject to how busy they are). I have no experience of DFDS but when I last looked at their prices, they cost much more than the others.

Check again with Eurotunnel that the price was for a short stay saver (i.e. Return to UK within 5 days), no point paying standard or flexi if not required. We usually pay around £100 for travel in a car with them, although high season will probably cost a little more.

EDIT: Just looked at Eurotunnel, looks like your outward journey may be busy (therefore more costly) as there are two time slots unavailable, price is £140, also looked at myferrylink.com and your journey will cost just under £100, again your outgoing day is more expensive than your returning day.

I've answered my own question - you looked at P&O, if you go with their quote of £120 you will also pay a fuel surcharge of around £4 - we did not get charged for this with myferrylink.

Thanks for the taking the time to explain, greatly appreciated. I ended using myferry link on DFDS and got a return as you described above for £108 outward journey was more costly than return.

Also I have booked the Big Bus Tour from Eiffel tower for Sunday, just wondering if there is anything else worth seeing within Paris's proximity. We ll be spending 2 Days at the parks one at each Park.

And if there are any other tips please do not hesitate to share.

    Thanks in advance.

Glad you got sorted with the ferry.

For anyone interested in myferrylink bookings for later in the year, the following BBC link explains that they had been ordered to cease trading (though not yet), pending appeal - which has put the judgement on hold for now, so might be a good idea not to book too far in advance, just in case!

Hello – I'm hoping to get some advice on flying to euro Disney please.

We’d like to go next year August 2015 – 2 adults 2 OAPs 1 child aged 5 – fly from Manchester and stay for roughly a week for my daughters 5th birthday.
I’ve looked on Disney web site and it’s pricing at around £5,000 for B&B & tickets staying in main Disney hotel.
Can you recommend a travel agent or should I book via Disney online and then separate airplane transfers?
Id like to beable to book a meal with a Disney character so I'm wondering if a travel agent will be best.

Also when is the best time to book, current offer now for 2015 is 2 nights/days free – are there any special offers on xmas time to book Jan 2015 for august?

What things do I need to consider when flying, transfers from airport to Disneyland, times of flights to coincide with park open times/hotel check-in times.

Thank you in advance, I'm sure I’ll be picking your brains more!!

i'm not sure you have a lot of choice to Paris from Manchester for flying, time of day wise, but the parks open at 10am (8am for onsite guests) and the main park closes at around 11.30pm in August. You can check into your hotel as early as you like, collect your park tickets etc, and leave your luggage. If your room isn't ready you can just collect your key later/at the end of your first park day.

You won't need a week, even in August. 4 nights/5days is a good amount of time in an onsite hotel at DLP, and the current 2 nights free offer is good for you, because it works out at just under 40% discount (a fairly typical discount offer at DLP). You don't have to pay this all upfront, you can call Disney to book and pay a deposit of 15% plus £16 booking fee, with the balance to be paid 60 days before you check in.

You don't have to pay for a character meal in advance, depending on which one you want it can be cheaper to pay on the day.

I would always book my hotel/tickets through Disney, and source my own travel separately.

Transfers between Paris CDG airport and your Disney hotel will cost around 18 euros per person, one way. The most convenient method of transfer is by private shuttle, it takes around 40 minutes, they pick you up at/near you exit gate, and take you straight to your hotel. Check ezyshuttle.com, rstransports etc for prices.

    Yes, it's true:

It's only an €11 on the spot fine, if you're caught, and I'm not sure how strictly they'd enforce it for foreign nationals. Personally, i'd just take the chance, but if you're reluctant, kits are available at Amazon for £3.99 delivered.

Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right! :D

chezzer, is your quote for 1 or 2 rooms in Disneyland Hotel? If 1 room then your quote may not include the 2 nights free as I think the family rooms for 5 are excluded from offers. Try pricing 2 normal rooms and you may get a cheaper quote as the 2 nights free will apply. You can ask for adjoining rooms and they will do their best to accommodate you.

I have another concern anyone if you could, as far as spending money is concerned am we better off loading money into a prepay card or changing pounds to euro before leaving and spend cash everywhere.

What would be the best option please. Hotel includes just breakfast and considering we l be out and about most of the time or buy something form the local supermarket for dinner if not eating out, what would be the best way to go about this.

    Thanks in advance.
