Thanks viva,
Are the trains quite busy and Is it quite easy to do the change?I heart The Capital0 -
Finally talked hubby into visiting DLP and have decided to go for my daughters birthday next month. Due to the time frame there is not much availability left and have received quotes for the Sequola and Newport. Does anybody have any opinion on either? We are a family of 4 children 9 and 5.
Thanks in advance.Keeper of 2 children, 2 dogs, 2 cats & thankful that you can only have 1 husband at a time.0 -
Just arrived back from dlp (3rd time) and thought i'd post a few tips, sorry if some have appeared before.
If you want a pre-booked taxi, BS transport are excellent. Booked online without payment and they phoned after a few hours to confirm and sent an email. Driver was waiting for us at arrivals, booked with drver for return and he arrived early to take us back. We booked for 7 people and payed 105 euros each way (not bad for a taxi for 7) and taxi was new and very comfortable - 30 min travel.
Drink and food very expensive in the hotel and park - Got a few supplies every day from a shop at the train station for less than 1/3 of disney prices.
Found the paris tour pretty good if you want a hassle-free taste of the city. Costs 65 euros adults 35 euros kids. You get a tour, river cruise and tickets to go up the eiffel tower without queueing. If you want any more than a quick eploration on foot however, find your own way there - you only get 3 hours dropped off near the tower.
Best food I found was the all you can eat buffet at the end of main street. 25 euros adults 11 euros kids. The choice was excellent and the quality amazing.:beer:0 -

Sequoia slightly nearer and cheaper. I liked it - it has a small slide in the pool which the kids love. Don't pay extra for the montana room (main building) - I didn't and got one anyway!!:beer:0 -
A tip on the rides - you can get away with hardly ever queuing. Go before 10 and the queues are very small because non-residents have to wait until after 10 to get in. Queues are also small in the evening, and crowds seem to follow each other everywhere, so don't bother going on if the queue is large, or use a fastpass.
If you want crush's coaster however, the wait is always long (around 60 mins min) with no fastpass, and autopia is only slightly better. The other ride always with a big wait is thunder mountain, but it does have a fastpass.
Some great rides where at times you can walk straight on:-
Space mountain
Indiana Jones
Rock and roller coaster
Star tours
(Tower of terror best = 10-15 min)
One final tip - For almost all of the shows you do not need to queue, just turn up before it starts and there should be plenty of room. The only 2 exceptions I can think of are Stitch live and Lion king (which needs to be booked)
I hope these tips help:beer:0 -

You only have to book seats at the front for the Lion King, the seating at the back is tables for the "fast"food counter. Get there early for the first show (usually, but not always, this is in English) get yourself a drink and find a good seat, they start to rope it off at least 30 mins before the show but no-one will hassle anyone sat down at the tables. The view is, IMHO, better from some tables than it is from the seats and it is a good long sit down to rest your aching feet. I recommend tables near the animals, you'll know what I mean IF you look hard enough!
Queue for rock'n'roller coaster and the Tower of Terror get a lot longer just after each show of Motor Action kicks out, so during the show is a good time for these rides, especially if timed to co-incide with Stitch Live!If anything I say starts to make sense, PANIC!0 -

Still not one to walk in on last minute which was my point

Hi In-it-to-win-it
We have just come back from DLP and stayed at Sequoia Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed it. There were 9 of us inc 9m, 4yo and 9yo! We only went B&B, staying in the main hotel Our only disappointment is that we wish we had gone Half board as the difference on food would not have been much different and the selection for the evening buffet there was great, real variety for all 9 of us. Got a bit fed up with burgers etc in the park for lunch and decided that would actually have been cheaper we think to have gone HB...also decided that Newport bay club looked bit child unfriendly from outside..just our opinion though
ALso re the Lion King show.. we didnt have to book just queue up although in the end got in quickly as my dad was in a wheelchair (another story)Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
I've got some quotes for DLP from agents and i've enquired about booking the hotel direct through the DLP website and the eurostar direct with eurostar. Booking it individually only saves £16, now i'm wondering what to do? My husband says you have more protection through a company which i'm not sure is true. Any opinions on this?Keeper of 2 children, 2 dogs, 2 cats & thankful that you can only have 1 husband at a time.0

Star tours
I'd love to do it as I love Star Wars, but on the guide it said it was "experienced" or something.
And I am rubbish on rides. The Buzz Lightyear (?) flying one outside was too much for me. [I don't mean the shooting one inside, I mean the flying one that goes round and round (a bit like flying Jumbos) really fast (to me!) outside.]
Don't want to go on the Star Wars ride and get scared !!!!less, but also don't want to miss out if I could cope with it...0
