Thanks viva,
Are the trains quite busy and Is it quite easy to do the change?
Hi jimsmum,
Trains can be busy in the rush hour, but going in from Marne La Valee you will always get a seat as it is the terminus. You need to get the RER train (which is like a suburban tube, sort of like the fast stretches of the Metropolitan line in London or some London overground services) and change to the RATP or Metro.
Changing trains is easy too, but you do need to know which line is which, and how to work out where the train is going to (which sounds obvious, but the rationale is different to taking the Victoria line Northbound in London, as the metro uses its terminus point as the direction instead). There is a really good guide to using public transport in and around Paris here:

Dont want to spoil it for you but definately no sign of any Ewoks from what I remember, try more like a Death Star and a space battle against the Empire....
Thought I remembered hearing it was something to do with landing on Endor (hence Ewoks) but maybe not.
At this minute I'm tempted to give it a go. Got 7 months to chicken out, though!0 -
Drink and food very expensive in the hotel and park - Got a few supplies every day from a shop at the train station for less than 1/3 of disney prices.
<snip>
Best food I found was the all you can eat buffet at the end of main street. 25 euros adults 11 euros kids. The choice was excellent and the quality amazing.
I was out there with my family last week and a lot of people had told me that all the food was expensive.
IT WASN'T
If I chose to eat in the full service places (Rain Forest, Cafe Mickey etc) then yes these place were not cheap but then again if I was on a day trip to London, a visit to Rain Forest etc would not be cheap there either.
On day one we ate in Cafe Mickey and for the 3 of us it cost €60. Yes that's expensive for lunch.
That evening we ate in Planet Holywood and it cost us €70. Out of interest, when we did Planet Holywood in London last year it was a lot more than that.
On one day we ate in a place on Main Street where we had hot dog, fries and beer for myself, burger, fries, orange juice and desert for my son and nuggets, fries and a beer for my wife and the bill was €24
On the last day we went to MacDonalds (in the Disneyland village) and we all ate for €14 and I also spotted that the shop in the train station (again within 1 minute of the gates) had a deal of a sandwich and a drink for €1.99
Sure the big full service eateries are expensive but only in the same way that they are expensive anywhere you go. But you don't have to eat there and there ARE cheaper options both in the park and within 60 seconds of the park gates in the station and the Disneyland Village.
Having said all of this, the hotels were however a rip off but why would you want to eat there when there are free busses to the Village every few minutes.
It's a shame that people dont point this out because I have met a few people who were put off going by the reports of it being very expensive. Sure it can be but it does not have to be.0 -
Okay, so I've booked easyjet, the Holiday inn and my tickets!
My questions now are.....
1)Which is cheaper from the airport, the train or the shuttle bus?
2)What times are the parks/ village open till, are there fireworks, and where do I get the bus back to holiday inn?
3) My plane back is at 11.50am and obviously have to check in earlier. What is the best way to get back to the airport? I don't want to be getting myself into a panic thinking I might miss check in.
4) What's the best ride!:rotfl:
We have been to Florida so have an idea of the Disney experience but we had a hire car there, have also been to PortAventura and did a bus to there but I'm a bit of a panicker when it comes to going somewhere I don't know!0 -
Just got back from DLP, and we booked our trip entirely through the Eurostar website for both train and Disney hotel (Newport Bay). Everything went fine, so why pay an agent extra when you've effectively done the legwork already? Just use a credit card if you want some protection.
Bri.
It was more expensive if we booked all with Eurostar. So done it all separate now.
Thanks for the advise all xKeeper of 2 children, 2 dogs, 2 cats & thankful that you can only have 1 husband at a time.0 -

IT WAS EXPENSIVE
Saying that Disney is no more expensive than central London doesn't exactly tell anyone it's not expensive!
I pointed out that the station shop saves you money since this is a money saving site. Bottled water costs less tha £1 compared with around £3 in the park, and on the hot days I was there you needed several a day, escpecially with small children.
I am not suggesting to anyone that they should spoil their holiday by avoiding any Disney outlets, but saving a few pounds on water etc. can't be too bad.
I do actually believe that the buffet menus are much more value for money, since you can get plenty to eat and fill you for most of the day especially if you combine with a free big breakfast which is why I recommended the one at the end of main st. (we went to 3 of them!)

Taxi is easiest and quickest, but more expensive.
If you decide on taxi, I booked BS transport (link below), where you can choose to pay by cash, so you have nothing to lose. They were clean and very prompt

Taxi would be a nice idea but any other viewpoints would be welcome too!0 -

But it doesn't have to be. I too spent a lot of cash but not because I didn't have an option.I pointed out that the station shop saves you money since this is a money saving site. But in the park there are plenty of FREE water fountains where you can fill up or just drink. Also did you spot those wonderful mist shower things where you walked in fully clothed, into a kind of fine mist, cooled down and then carried on. A fantastic idea.mintymoneysaver wrote: »2)What times are the parks/ village open till, are there fireworks, and where do I get the bus back to holiday inn?
The village is open until after midnight.
Last week the Park was open until 11pm and the Studio until 10pm although some of the rides in the park were shut at 10pm.
No fireworks. The parade was at 7.30pm but they only seem to have fireworks a few times a year.
The bus is number 54 and goes from outside the station (you can't miss them). As a hint, don't buther running for the bus if it is waiting at the stand as they are every few minutes and i it does go, another will be along in very soon. I saw a lot of people getting stressed as they ran for these busses and missed them ending up banging on the doors of the moving bus (very dangerous) in the hope the driver would stop and let them on (they won't). There is no need.0 -
