Have a look at DLRPMagic for their excellent information on Annual Passes.
It won't be quiet that week, but it will be even busier the following week, so if you're restricted to school holidays, your week is as good as any really - as long as you avoid Saturdays and Sundays completely.
Thank you Balletshoes for the information, it's much appreciated. can I just confirm that the best time to go during the half term break would be between 20th and 24th October?0 -
come to disney world here in FL - got a lot of good deals on if you can get here, defiantly worth the money, take my childern every summer for 3 weeks with my wife,
lovely place and lovely people all around0 -

yes - out of your 2 weeks if thats your first one, that will be the quieter of the 2 at DLP.0 -

Each to their own I guess but for us, it has to be DLP. Going next month in our motorhome, previously used Disney hotels there, so will be a different experience for us. More preferable to go to DLP because:
DLP:
4 hrs in Uk plus 3 hrs in France drive plus 45 mins at Channel Tunnel inc crossing - £130 return and around 8 hours travel time
Diesel for Motorhome - not more than £250
Accommodation - £0 - staying in DLP car park motorhome area for free courtesy of annual passes
Travel Ins: £0 included in a packaged bank account
Luggage: take what we like at no extra cost
Road tolls: 40-45 euros
Annual passes: up to 199 euros (£167)
Florida: (timing and costs are either not known or guessed)
Up to 9 hours on a plane plus travel time to airport plus waiting around at airport plus waiting around on/for shuttle bus - at least 13 hours total
Diesel and airport parking: at least £50-ish
Flights - ?? But more than Channel Tunnel cost
Accommodation - ?? But more than stated above for Paris
Travel Ins: £?? Extra payment required for outside EU
Luggage - possible extra cost involved i.e. Cannot just take whatever you like within the luggage allowance
Shuttle bus - ??
Annual passes: 649.59 usd or 776.39 usd for premium (£392/ £458 respectively)
So from a time and cost perspective, Disneyland Paris wins every time for us which means we are going 5 times this year. After all, this is a money saving website
I appreciate that there are 4 parks in Florida as opposed to 2 at DLP, but believe me, 2 is quite enough. If decent weather is your thing then obviously Florida is for you, but we like the winter months at DLP and weather isn't a factor for us at all.

Enjoy Florida!
You can actually pay nearly as much to go to DLP as Florida !
Flight is approx 9 hours - we spent over 14 hours on a coach to DLP (never again)
No extra costs for luggage, 23 kg allowance is plenty for anyone.
Travel insurance included in my House Contents insurance.
No shuttle bus for us in Florida, straight from plane to hire car, then straight to villa.
Villa cost is approx £900 for 2 weeks, a villa sleeps up to 8 or 10 people. Cheap really.
Food is much cheaper in Florida, park tickets for 4 adults for the whole 2 weeks are about £1100, BUT, this includes ALL Disney parks and Universal, Seaworld etc.
If you stay in a hotel or motel in Florida, rather than a villa and don't use a hire car, you can go for even less.
There really is no comparison between DLP and Florida, for us, having been to DLP twice, and Florida 5 times, it's Florida every time. We found DLP very disappointing.0 -
Last night we booked our summer holiday, after practically running out of the travel agents a few months ago due to the extortionate prices (it's our first holiday with kids in school).
We're going to do a week in one of the Al Fresco resorts near Paris and then will be going to Disneyland for 5 days. We are going in mid-August (yes, I know it's going to be diabolical!) and the three kids will be aged 6, 5 and 2.5. We've had to stay in the DCR as there are three kids, but that suits us because we then won't disturb the little darlings once they've gone to sleep.
I've read on here that we get a continental breakfast that we have to pick up from somewhere near and that we can take that into the park for lunch if we like. The deal that we booked on was the kids under 7 go free and discounted half-board meals. I understand that we can use the half-board to have lunch OR dinner. Does this have to be eaten in the DCR restaurant or can we eat elsewhere? We were planning to eat the hot meal in the evening so don't mind staying there each night if so. Also, do we have to book a table to eat our meal or do we just turn up?
Do we get the EMH for each day of our stay, or just once or twice? As our youngest is an enthusiastically early riser, we'd probably take advantage of those extra hours! The same question goes for the fast passes. I believe we get some of those too? Are they only for certain rides?
Sorry for all the questions, we've never been to anything like this before so not sure how the whole Disney thing works! Are there shows/rides/events we really MUST see? I've heard that the Buffalo Bill show isn't really worth it for the money - I'm sure my 2 yr old son would love it but my almost 5 year old is very sensitive to noise and would probably hate it. Will we be queuing for hours, as it's August, to get on each and every ride?
Also, does anyone know the prices of the pony rides at the DCR? I'm still in the throes of persuading my reluctant husband to let the kids have ponies and it would be great for him to see them enjoying a ride!
If you've managed to get this far, thanks for reading and I appreciate any help and advice anyone can give to enable us to survive this trip!0 -

go get yourself a lovely glossy DLP brochure from your travel agent - near the back, contained in 2 pages, you will find all the information you need about where you can use your half board plan vouchers. You can use them in 19 participating restaurants across the resort at DLP, including at, but not restricted to, your own accommodations restaurant. You can use the vouchers for lunch if you like, where the participating restaurants are open for lunch.

EMH is every day in August, and if you want to, you can go every day of your stay.
Fastpass is available to every guest who goes through the turnstiles - its your park ticket which gives you access to fastpass tickets. Have a look at DLRPMagic for their information on fastpass, which rides have it etc

tickets for Buffalo Bills are 40 euros each, so you might not want to spend all that money if one or more of your kids won't like it.
You will be queueing for hours if you don't plan your days - nearer the time (ie from mid-July I'd say) have a look at the park programme and plan 5 or 6 must-do things each day, do EMH if you can because the rides (especially in the first hour from 8am) are quieter than you'll see them at any other time of the day, and remember to make time to see Dreams at least one night at the end of the park day (in August this will be at 11pm).
Also, does anyone know the prices of the pony rides at the DCR? I'm still in the throes of persuading my reluctant husband to let the kids have ponies and it would be great for him to see them enjoying a ride!
I don't know about the pony rides, we've never done them.

sounds like its going to be an epic trip to France!0 -
Good evening. I'm looking for off site hotel recommendations for a family of six. Ideally, we want somewhere that will sleep all of us in one room. I know The Explorers Hotel and Adagio Aparthotel are options but is anyone aware of anywhere else?0
