  • Hi were looking for a break to DLP sometime during the October Half Term (20-24th oct). We're a family of 2 adults and three kids 17,15,4. I've looked on the DLP website and the price for us all staying at the Adagio Marne la Vall!e Val D'Europe is around £1600 not including transportation. I've looked online and can get the same accommodation for around £300 but this doesn't include breakfast or tickets. What i'm wondering is, is this a good price or will the price equal the DLP price once the tickets etc are added on, and, is this a good time to go to DLP? the dates I've priced for are 18th-22nd but can be varied during that week.
    Thanks for any advice

Thanks for the reply and apologies for the delay in responding to you. For some reason I didn't get an email notification that there were replies on the thread.

To be honest, I had the figure of £3k in my head, maybe a bit more. I don't know where I got that figure from though!

I spent a bit more time online last night and have come to the conclusion that I wouldn't be against staying in a non-disney hotel. I checked prices for one of the Disney partner hotels (or whatever they call them) and found it to be very reasonable. If I remember correctly, it was around £325 for three nights over Xmas in a self catering type apartment. I'm pretty sure park tickets would work out around £350 per day for the six of us so would need to decide whether we need two days or would get away with just one day (Xmas day). I'm leaning towards two days at the moment. I'm not sure on Eurostar prices (any help would be appreciated here!) but I think the total cost would come in at less than staying on site.

eurostar, if you get the fares as soon as they go on sale, are £69 return direct to DLP from the UK, kids are £49 return (under-12). The longer you leave it to book the Eurostar, the more expensive it will get.

I'd definitely go with the self catering apart you found, and add park tickets for however many days you need, nearer the time of your trip :).

park tickets would be no more than the cost of Dream APs, at the very most, and you'd get 20% family discount off those as you are a family of 5 - so you'd pay, at most, 796 euros total for your park tickets (and they give you discounts on food and souvenirs when you are at DLP too).

Have a look at DLRPMagic for their excellent information on Annual Passes :).

It won't be quiet that week, but it will be even busier the following week, so if you're restricted to school holidays, your week is as good as any really - as long as you avoid Saturdays and Sundays completely.

if you have no pre-existing medical conditions, just go with the cheapest insurance for France which has a decent excess and decent cover. i have paid £6.64 for my insurance for a family of 4 for DLP next month, for 5 days cover.

if you know where you want to eat, and when, then yes, book your evening meals (you don't have to do it before you get there though, you can do that at your hotel when you check in, or at City Hall in the main park on your first day).

Thanks for the reply, it's a great help. One last question if that's ok?

When should I expect Eurostar tickets to be on sale for 23rd/24th December? I've been looking on the site but they've only got dates up to the middle of December at the moment.

they won't be long - they typically advance a day at a time at the moment, so if you're seeing for example the 16th december today, you'll see the 23rd next week at this time.

No idea where and when to eat, I'm open to suggestions, we are staying at the new York hotel, we have booked only breakfast but I'm wondering if its cheaper and easier just to go half board, we are staying 4 nights and we will have to leave after breakfast on our last day to get our flight.

My 9 year old has adhd, that's the only medical condition.

no, its definitely not cheaper or easier to do half board at DLP - there are so many other options for food there.

have a look at DLRPMagic restaurant section - you'll get an idea of options and prices etc.
  • We are staying at adagio val d'europe in august and cost £415 for 6 of us in one room for 4 nights :) booked through expedia (and topcashback and got £43 cash back too!) we have stayed there before. It's basic but for the time you spend in it, you don't need more! Plus it's self catering apartments and a supermarket is literally next door :) hope that helps
