I think FTB_Peter was referring to the hotels rather than the park itself ?

We've been to Florida 5 times and DLP twice in the last 10 years. (last time to Florida Aug 2013) My view is that Florida comes out top as far as the parks are concerned, can't fault anything at all. DLP on the otherhand, for us, doesn't have the same atmosphere as Florida, the staff aren't as polite, (some were downright rude) the parks are much smaller and i wouldn't ever go again. Several of the rides were out of order when we went to DLP, one broke down just as we got on, and queuing in the rain and cold doesn't do it for me i'm afraid. We stayed at Santa Fe and Dream Castle, though both quite good, Santa Fe more so than Dream Castle due to location.

Of course it's horses for courses and DLP can be done on a much smaller budget, kids just see Mickey Mouse, they aren't bothered about the state of the hotel or the park !

I did indeed. Problem is we are working on a limited budget and the thousands it would cost to do Florida for 2-3 weeks is just too much at the moment, having just got through Xmas and the youngest being 10 months. We'd only be looking at 3-4 days at DLP, am I right in saying the Santa Fe has recently been refurbed?

I was hoping to book a visit for 2015 and pay it off throughout this year, but the more reviews I'm reading the more I'm thinking of booking Florida, hoping that I could cover the cost over the next 12-18 months. Would 7 days at Florida be ok? As that would be all we could afford.
  • the 10th november will be the start of xmas time at DLP - but avoid the 10th and 11th - Armistice Day is a big public holiday in France and DLP is always busy on that day and the weekend nearest to it. Any time midweek after 11th and you'll be fine, quiet parks and xmas theme :).

Thanks a lot Balletshoes have booked from the 12th :)

Hi everyone.....hope you knowledgeable lot can help me. I'm looking to take my daughter to Disneyland from 12th to 15th may. I have booked Eurostar tickets and the Dream Castle Hotel but with free cancellation in case any offers became available. I was also going to book annual tickets with hopefully a free, reduced ticket for my daughter, from the french sites. Am I right in thinking this has now been stopped? Looking at the official site I can see they have an offer on 4night stays. Do you think I would be better booking this and leaving the day earlier? Would this be a problem ?

    Thank you for your help

it won't be a problem to book the 4 nights offer and leave a night earlier, that will be fine. Are you sure you want to though? I mean, even if you have to pay 159 euros each for a fantasy pass (assuming there are no blockout dates for that pass on your stay) does that make the Dream Castle price too expensive, compared to onsite?

At the moment, you can only get the 35 euro child's annual passes if you are a French resident.

The Dream Castle is £342 then I would need the park tickets too. For the 4 night promotion the Santa Fe is £438, inc tickets? The 13th May is also a blackout day so would have to be the more expensive AP.

Is there a chance there will be a 3 night offer on site for May soon would you know?

I've been keeping up with this thread for months and thought I had everything planned now the tickets have knocked me. I had wanted to stay in a nicer hotel so decided off site would be better. Now I'm not so sure, especially given the age of my DD x

4 nights onsite including park tickets for everyone for £438 in May is a good deal, I'd go with that to be honest. Having said that, I think £342 for 3 nights at the Dream Castle is pretty expensive, so I'd cancel that anyway (the Kyriad is the same tourist rating as the Santa Fe and Cheyenne). No-one knows what offer will come after the current one expires unfortunately.

And am I right in thinking that I can book for me and youngest DD but can add on my eldest DD on arrival if she later decides to come?

She will get park entry too?
