And am I right in thinking that I can book for me and youngest DD but can add on my eldest DD on arrival if she later decides to come?

She will get park entry too?

you can add others but unless your eldest daughter is aged under 7, you will have to buy a park ticket for her. If she decides to come with you a while before your trip, you could change your booking to include her, it will cost more than the original price but she will have a park ticket included.

i love the Santa Fe and now its been refurbished the rooms are cosy, clean and colourful :).

We loved Santa Fe too, couldn't find any faults at all. We were lucky, we had a refurbished room at the end of the corridor so no noise at night as no-one passing our door. Breakfast was good too and we saw all the characters there.

I did indeed. Problem is we are working on a limited budget and the thousands it would cost to do Florida for 2-3 weeks is just too much at the moment, having just got through Xmas and the youngest being 10 months. We'd only be looking at 3-4 days at DLP, am I right in saying the Santa Fe has recently been refurbed?

I was hoping to book a visit for 2015 and pay it off throughout this year, but the more reviews I'm reading the more I'm thinking of booking Florida, hoping that I could cover the cost over the next 12-18 months. Would 7 days at Florida be ok? As that would be all we could afford.

Personally, i feel that Florida for 7 days would disappoint you. There's really too much to do in a week, you'd struggle to do just Disney in a week.

For a first time visit if your budget is tight, DLP would probably be better for you. Your kids will love it, they won't realise where they are !

It's just my experience and my opinion regarding the difference between DLP and Florida. I've tried both and wouldn't choose to go to DLP again. For when you can afford Florida, check out https://www.thedibb.co.uk and the Florida thread on here. Lots of useful advice.

Just an idea of Florida costs, we went Aug 2013, (school hols) 2 adults 2 kids aged 15 and 13 for 2 weeks. Total cost for Virgin flights, villa and car hire was £4800, Disney and Universal tickets were an extra £1000. Kids pay adult price for tickets over age 9. Plus spending money.
  • Some good info there, thanks. I'm swapping jobs at the end of the month and have to take a drop in pay in order to step up the ladder in the long run.

I was thinking of £6000 as a ballpark figure for Florida so it's looking like a few days at DLP as an introduction to the whole Disney World scene, but as you say the kids have nothing to compare it to so they won't be bothered.

I like what I'm hearing about the newly refurbed Santa Fe hotel so it could well be for us when the time comes.

You could probably do Florida for less than we did. A hotel package would be much cheaper than we paid, it's just that we like the luxury of the car and villa. Park tickets will stay the same price.

    Hi all,

We're staying at La Croix du Vieu Pont for May half-term (£500 for a family of 4 inc accomodation and Eurotunnel return crossing ... we could have waited and tried going via the Sun offer but decided not to take the risk of possibly not getting the dates we wanted).

Anyway, with it being so close (relatively) we are going to do at least 1 trip to DLP. Does anyone have any suggestions for sites that do cheap park tickets ? I also believe it is cheaper if you get tickets for a named day (rather than paying on the gate) - do you save enough to make it worthwhile ie what happens if it is pouring with rain on the date you choose ? Also, does DLP do tickets where you can return x times within the y days ?

    Hiya all,

I'm still quite new here, so I hope I'm putting this in the right place :) .

I'm looking to buy Buffalo Bills tickets for my family for when we go to dlp in May.

I just checked on the official dlp website (the french one) and they are selling BB tickets for both adults and children for 35euros! You have to go see the show on certain days, but theres plenty of choice, so a bargain I think?

It's no good for me though, because they are only available to buy for shows up until 1st April, but I thought that I would share it on here in case anyone is looking for them :D

While writing, does anyone know when the tickets for shows in May will be available to buy?
