  • Hiya,

Thinking of taking my wife and my little one for her birthday in November 2014

If we were to go the week of the 3rd or the 10th November is that likely to be the Xmas celebrations by then? Is it normally quiet in the parks around this time?

    Many thanks

the 10th november will be the start of xmas time at DLP - but avoid the 10th and 11th - Armistice Day is a big public holiday in France and DLP is always busy on that day and the weekend nearest to it. Any time midweek after 11th and you'll be fine, quiet parks and xmas theme :).

if its 4 nights you want, i believe you can book that now on the official DLP site, with an early booker 2 nights free discount.

If you'd rather have 3 nights, you'll need to wait until the next lot of offers come out, to see if there are any decent discounts for your dates in september for 3 nights (40% off is a decent price off the full brochure price for DLP).

Only your 4-year old would be free staying onsite, your 7-year old you'd have to pay for, so again it might be worthwhile looking offsite but nearby for your hotel, then looking at annual passes for park tickets.

Definitely book Eurostar direct with Eurostar themselves, I believe September dates are already on sale so if you know your dates, book it as soon as you can (it will only get more expensive the longer you leave it).

Thank you so much Balletshoes, your knowledge is invaluable!!
Having priced up separtely for a four night stay its cheaper to do Sun-Thurs, than to do Mon-Fri.... are Sundays an ok day for check-in???

Also, having skipped in & out of the thread i get the impression you don't recommend the meal packages that you can add on to your booking, am i correct??? Can i ask how you then book meals (sorry for Q if it's obvious!)

And last Q - the Wild West Show.... think we'd really like to see this...... book when booking hotel or at another time???

    Thanks again Balletshoes :T

yep, Sundays are good, as usually the main park is open later on Saturday and Sunday evenings, so depending on what time you check in, you could still get a good few hours in the park on your first day :)

it doesn't cost anything except a phone call to reserve tables at restaurants of your choice, you just call the Disney dining reservations line up to 60 days before your trip. For DLP you won't need to though, a couple of days beforehand, or even on your first day in person at your hotel reception or at City Hall. I don't like the dining plans at DLP, I find them restrictive and they don't save you any money really.

    Thanks again Balletshoes :T

You can get cheaper Buffalo Bills tickets by buying them separately, don't add it to your package.

I've just stumbled upon this thread, obviously haven't read it all, but was after some help and info. We want to take our 3 kids (will be 1.5, 4 and 7.5) to Disneyland Paris this year - we're looking at the end of June to avoid going in the school holidays (will take our eldest out of school for the last few days). Anyway, I've had a quick look on the net and already i'm overwhelmed!! where do we start?! how many days realistically do we need to see it all? is it better to stay "onsite" or outwith the parks? if anyone can help i'd be so grateful :)

my first few trips to DLP with 5 and 6-year olds was 2 nights and 3 days, all of them spent in the parks at DLP. I think you need at least that long to be honest (now I prefer 4 nights and 4 days, but mostly because that feels like a break away from home, rather than a short stopover :)).

If you want to stay onsite for less than 4 nights, there aren't any deals yet for June, but there will be, so just keep looking. You could price up your trip onsite on the official DLP site, typically you're looking at 40% off the full price as being a good deal for an onsite stay.

For travel, whichever way you do it, book it yourself, direct. This is almost always the cheapest way of doing it.
Only your 4-year old would be free staying onsite, you don't pay for your toddler anyway and your 7-year old is too old for a free child place in June (they need to be aged under 7).

thanks so much for your quick reply balletshoes :) 2 nights and 3 days sounds do-able! (we're going to be spending more time in France, but in a villa (somewhere!)).

would you recommend staying onsite then? is it a lot more expensive than offsite? there seems to be quite a few hotels to choose from...

on the face of it it seems a lot more expensive to stay onsite - however the quote you get on the DLP site for onsite stays includes park tickets for the duration of your stay for all 4 of you (no park ticket needed for your toddler), and breakfast is included for you all.

if you stay offsite and source park tickets yourself, you're looking at over £100 each for the 4 of you for 3 days typically.

Hope this helps you crunch the numbers :).

Hi, I am looking to go to Disneyland on 13/04 until 17/04. We are only going to go the dlp for 3 days, we don't mind staying off site as long as there is a free shuttle bus. There are 2 adults and 2 children who are 8 and 9. What is he best price for us? dlp website is saying 1066, this seems expensive and way over budget.

Does anyone know just how much of an issue smoking in the queues at Disney is? I've read a lot of reports that its pretty bad.

Id rather not expose my children to this sort of behaviour... I was thinking of maybe taking a few cans of air freshener with me to spray directly at the ignorant idiots....

Bit of a late response, but while we were there just before Christmas, I didn't notice it too much at all, and in fact when we were queuing for Jack Skellington, the cast member who was with him actually asked a french lady to leave the queue because she lit up!!
