Hi all, I have been reading this thread for over an hour now and have some very good hints and tips. Me and my wife and 3 children (13,6,>1) wanted to go in Feb, but have been advised on another thread I created that May will be better due to the school holidays.
We are looking at May 26th - 28th/29th and goign via my own car and Euro tunnel.
I have not booked anything yet, but want to start soon, what are your recommendations? Thinking about taking pack lunch food for the kids to take in the day (Snack food) and either get a B&B deal staying at one of the parks accommodations are a ½ board if a deal is on.
Very appreciative of any advise in advance
Thanks
AJ
it might be a little early for the good discounts on Disney hotel/ticket packages for 2 or 3 night stays (they are still selling their early 2014 dates at the moment). Have a look and see what kind of price you are seeing for your whole party on the official DLP site for your dates and hotel of choice, and then come back and let us know what price you've found.
Eurotunnel is a good choice with a family, and of course it means you can take packed food with you.
I don't really rate any of the meal plans at DLP I'm afraid, I think they are restrictive and they don't save you any money. Also, your 13-year old counts as an adult at DLP, so that would mean on any meal plan you'd have to pay adult price for her meals, when theres really no need to, especially if she's not a big eater.0 -

. We can go 25th-29th May so I'm pricing up for those dates now. I'm just weighing up the pros and cons of staying in one of the partner hotels (prob dream or circus) and how much cheaper it is to book everything separate. I was thinking about booking everything separate for the new york hotel, but I can't find a website that has rooms available for those dates. Do you know the best sites for booking the hotels at the mo? Are the fantasy APs on promoparcs still the best value? We would need 3 adults and 1 child wouldn't we? (DD's are 6 and 13) I have looked and I don't think 25-29th may are blackout dates for that AP, is that right? Thought I'd ask the pro's before going any further
. Yey! Dates that work for us and should be quite quiet! It'll be milder then too won't it. Win! Win! Win! All I need to do now is book. I'd better get a move on :j
here are the blackout dates as published so far by the DLP site for Fantasy passes -
Your Fantasy Annual Pass is valid in Disneyland ® Park and Walt Disney Studios ® all year except days following restriction:
2014
January 1, 14, 21
March: 29 and 30
April: 5 and 20
May 3, 10, 13, 20 and 31
June: 8, 17, 28 and 29
July: 5
August: 30
September: 2, 9, 16, 23, 27 and 28
October: 7, 14, 25, 26 and 31
November 1, 8, 15 and 18
December: 6, 13, 14 and 27,
2015
January 1, 6, 13, 20 and 27
MARCH: 28 and 29
blackout dates dont apply at all if you are staying at a Disney onsite hotel - but unfortunately you won't get a great room only rate at all for a May stay (the best dates for room only with APs onsite are from November through to late March each year). You can call Disney and ask for a room only rate, but don't be surprised if its as much, or even more than, a package including park tickets (Disney heavily discounts its packages, by much more than it ever does for its room only prices).
If you're going to get APs for you all, you'd be better staying offsite but nearby with free shuttle buses to and from the parks. Have a look on ebookers, expedia, traverepublic, alpharooms etc and see what takes your fancy.
I'm not sure promoparcs/cemultiavantages can sell the cheaper APs to non-French residents anymore - but its certainly worth emailing both companies and asking the question, because its a fair bit cheaper than paying for them at the gates of DLP.0 -
Hi I am after some advice if possible. I purchased a 3 nights/4 days for myself, the OH and our two boys (5 & 6) from the french DLP website a couple of months ago and we are due to go out there during February half term.
My daughter (16) has now decided that, although she was adamant that she didn't want to come with us again, she now wants to come along.
We are booked into the Sante Fe - does anyone know if they do rooms for 5 people? We would have booked Davy Crockets again if we thought she was going to change her mind.
Many thanksh

there are family rooms at the Santa Fe - but they get booked out quickly, and if you can't see any family room come up when you price your trip again on the official DLP site, there is no availability for the family rooms I'm afraid.
So you'd either have to book another room at the Santa Fe, or change your booking to the Davy Crockett ranch.0 -
Hey All,
Sorry to be a pain as I am sure this has been asked many times before but I am looking to go to DLP in March and wanted to know the cheapest way to buy a 2 day 2 park ticket? There will only be two of us (adults) and just wanted to know whether there was another (cheaper) way of getting tickets rather than buying straight from the DLP website?
Any advice would be most appreciatedxxx

Probably cheaper to buy from attractiontix, travelrepublic, expedia and also check out fnac, cemultiavantages and promoparcs. you might even find something on ebay.0 -
Thank you, will check all of those out

I wonder if I could have some advice as a newbie on here. I would love to take our family to DLP either for Christmas 2014 or in 2015. My husband is a teacher so it has to be in the school holidays in order for him to be able to go. Our children will be 12, 9 and 4 for Christmas 2014.
What is the best thing to do? Is it better to look and book now or wait until nearer the time, there are good offers for Feb 1/2 term 2015 at the moment. It all seems like a minefield in terms of getting everything organised with tickets to get into the parks, accommodation and travel to sort out.
We would probably prefer to go by eurostar than fly but will consider anything. I've never been to disneyland and it will be a real once in a lifetime for the children although it will have to be done on as tight a budget as possible.
I know Christmas is likely to be much more but I think it's the only way that we could get to see the Christmas things at Disney due to my husbands holiday restrictions.
Is it best to buy everything separately or as a package?
Any advice would be great as I don't know where to even begin!
ETA; is it possible to pay just a deposit on the DLP official website for a package or do you have to pay for the whole lot upfront?0 -

the closer to Christmas Day itself you go to DLP, the more expensive and more busy it gets.
Its a truly wonderful time to visit the parks though, the main park is beautiful dressed up for Christmas.
I believe there is already an early booking offer on the official DLP website for 2014 to 2015, but it may be only for 4 night or more stays, that might be longer than you were thinking of going? Also, as a family of 5 you will struggle to get a good price at an onsite hotel, because the standard rooms are for a maximum of 4. You might find it better to go offsite and source park tickets separately, there is loads of accommodation in the Disneyland Paris area.
Direct Eurostar fares are always cheaper booked direct with Eurostar, and the fares come out for sale around 10 months prior to travel. The longer you leave it to book, the more expensive it will get.
As to your hotel/park tickets, avoid checking in on a Friday or Saturday, those are the most expensive days of the week to check in at DLP.
you can choose to pay 15% deposit, and the rest 60 days before your check in date, if you phone Disney to book rather than doing it online.
Hope this helps.
