I'd also look at the Dream Castle's own website, plus Expedia, alpharooms, ebookers, and hotels.com (and check cashback sites to see if you can get a bit more off that way).
I can't see that price on travelrepublic. Is it a room for 2adults and 2 children at dream castle - 374?0 -
i'd wait until after christmas for the hotel/park tickets offers, there are no great ones for march yet, and the current offer ends on 25th december, so within a week or so after that date, the next offer will be available on the official DLP site
.
You don't need to wait to book Eurostar once you have your dates - I'm going in April next year, won't be booking my hotel yet as i can't find a good deal yet, but as soon as the indirect Eurostar fare comes out for my dates, I'll be booking it.0 -

Hi
I am after some advice for a DLP break. The family (6 adults, 2 kids and 1 baby) would like to go next year (preferably around Sept/Oct but not tied to that if it's a terrible idea).
In terms of timing, I think we will need a min 2 days, preferably 3. We can only go in school holidays (15-23 Feb, 5-21 Apr, 24 May-1 Jun, 24 Jul-2 Sep and 25 Oct-2 Nov). I have also seen advice that it's best to avoid the French school hols. What's the best way to go about this? Would Sun 31 Aug to Tue 2 Sep be sensible?
As for getting there, we are pretty set on train (eurostar) from Ashford which will be easiest with kids and baby. What's the best way/when's best to book this?
As for accomodation, we stayed at the Santa Fe a few years ago and thought it was pretty grubby (and other than the Disneyland hotel - which is £££££ - none look particularly great). The partner hotels look much better. However, I see you are allowed on some rides 2 hours early if you stay at a Disney hotel, which sounds like a good deal, no? Given that we will only be sleeping/eating breakfast there, is it best to just go for the cheapest Disney one? Also, is it best to book the hotel/tickets through the DLP website? On that note, what sort of deal should we be holding out for?
Help! Any advice gratefully received0 -

yes, those dates would be okay - not quiet, but nowhere near as busy as your October holidays would be.

its best to book direct with eurostar, and as soon as the fares beccome available for your dates. i believe the next lot of fares are due to be released soon, so keep an eye on the Eurostar site, or phone them and ask when your dates will be available to book.

if you have young children in your party, then yes, i'd say Extra Magic Hours is worth having, so I'd look at the onsite hotels. The Santa Fe was fully refurbished inside, including all rooms and public areas, last year.
For September it will be a fair while before the good offers come out for 2 or 3 nights onsite on the official DLP site, you might find similar deals on other sites too, but again, it won't be for a while yet.0 -
This is going to be a rant but I really hope someone can help me!
I've had an absolute nightmare trying to book tickets this evening.
I'm going to Paris on Christmas Eve until Boxing Day and thought it'd be great to spend Christmas Day at Disney. I was extremely interested in the Paris express as it includes transfers from the centre of Paris.
I went ahead with the booking, got through everything and it said I was successful. This was then confirmed by an email I received from Disney. Not two seconds later I received another email informing me that the order had been cancelled due to a technical problem. I was also informed that no money had been debited from my account and they provided a link to try buying the tickets again.
I followed this link and tried a further THREE times to no avail, getting the same confirmation then cancellation each time. So I called their helpdesk who told me my bank must of put a hold on transactions as it's an overseas transaction. I then called my bank who said they have authorised all four transactions with no problem.
I then called Disney again who told me the same as before. I've now just looked at my account and it seems they've taken all four payments out at a total of £616. Now the helpdesk is closed so I'll have to wait for the morning.
Can anybody help with what has happened? I need these Disney tickets and am getting a little worried that they are unbookable.0 -
phone disney in the morning, with your emails open so you can give them the details (times etc) of each cancelled booking email, this should be evidence enough that you only want one lot of tickets, and they should be able to refund you for the other 3 sets - it may not come back into your bank account straightaway though, so ask them how long its likely to take.0

Thanks for the response balletshoes!
The only thing worrying me now is that when I called Disney the second time, after confirming with my bank that they hadn't blocked my account, they still blamed my bank for not authorising the transactions. Seems to be a communication error somewhere or one of them is lying!0 -

i still don't think you have anything to worry about - it was disney who sent the technical difficulty emails.0 -

Thanks. That's very helpful. What sort of deal do you think we should aim for for the hotel/tickets?0
