I was told to contact the hotel direct. Reservations gave me the number. I think you have to pay though, they don't seem to give you anything for free. I'm going to call tomorrow after work when my son is still at school so he doesn't hear me. Saves me hiding in a cupboard and whispering at them tonight.
it depends how you do it - if you're after something guaranteed, then yes, you'll have to pay for it.
However, if you call the hotel 3 or 4 days before you check in, ostensibly to ask for a nice room (ie if you want to specify a low or high floor, near the main facilities or not etc) theres nothing wrong with dropping into the conversation then that you're there to celebrate a special birthday, and you're having birthday cake etc while you are there. This doesn't guarantee you any pixie dust, but it doesn't hurt either, and you might find your birthday boy or girl gets a cuddly toy or something like that put in the room for them. As I said, not at all guaranteed, but worth a shot.
The direct number for the Cheyenne hotel is tel Cheyenne 0033 1 60 45 62 00.0 -
Might try that instead. Thanks ballet shoes. 58 days from tomorrow, lol0

not that you're counting or anything eh?
what people also do regarding "surprises" in the room at DLP, is buy them and take them with you in your suitcase, then when you check in and collect your room key, send your kids off with your partner to the hotel gift shop to buy their autograph book or chunky pen (or just a sweetie) while you take the key and the case with the surprises to the room, then set out the surprises in the room before the rest of your family sees it.

Nope, we haven't got a chalkboard by the front door that we change the number of days on every morning. Cos that would just be weird.
I can't do the other as its only me and ds, I could always give him the iPad - he's usually so mesmerised by it I could parade an elephant juggling sheep through the front room without him noticing.0 -
Hi all,
Would appreciate some help please.
I'm not very good at booking trips away, normally I leave to the wife, but I want to surprise her and my 20 month old daughter. I'd like to go to DLP for the 1st weekend of dec this year by train ideally. What's the best price for a hotel, train and park tickets??
If anyone can help I'd be ever so greatful0 -

check Eurostar first on their site, to look for the best prices for whichever dates you can do.
Once you've checked them, check the official DLP site for hotel/breakfast/park tickets packages. Try to check in any day of the week except Fridays and Saturdays, as those are the most expensive days to check in at DLP. Weekends are mental busy at DLP, especially in December as Christmas season is in full swing, so if you possibly can, go midweek instead.0 -

Hi ballet shoes thank you ever so much for responding
Well ideally I wanted to go 6th to 8th or 13th to 15th. I unfortunately have used up all my holiday from work this year so it would be the only time I can go. I can only imagine that it would be most expensive and super busy but really would like to go for the Christmas element and see my daughters and wife's faces out there
I've looked on the euro star site and it keeps coming up with errors from my ipad so I can't search :-(
Going through the DLP site it appears that for the 1st week in dec it would cost £1300 for the weekend, the weekend after isn't much different either :-(0 -

i've looked on eurostar for your dates for the train journeys - you're looking at £368 return for your first weekend, the same price for your 2nd weekend.
to be honest, as both the direct and indirect Eurostar fares for December have been out for sale since August/September, you're not going to get any cheaper now.0 -

Does that price include hotel and DLP tickets??0 -

no, thats just for the Eurostar journey from London to DLP direct. Its another £500 or so on the official DLP site, just for hotel (Sequoia Lodge) for 2 nights, breakfast, dinner vouchers, and park tickets for you all for 3 days. There are no better discount offers at all showing for your dates I'm afraid.0
