    Hey all

It's been ages since I've posted (well feels like it). Sadly work gets really busy during term time :(

Good luck to all with your job interviews; I've got everything crossed!

I have a quickie question for rayday (and anyone else who self manages a DMP). As you may remember I have just taken over running my DMP from the CCCS. Well having phoned all creditors etc to confirm and set up payments, my hubby finally phoned the CCCS today to tell them. They said that in their experience, the creditors would be ok with our payments now but would start phoning up etc asking us to increase payments 6 months down the line and said we could contact them for advice if that happened.

Having had a smooth 3 years on my DMP so far, I really don't want all that hassle of calls etc 6 months down the line. Is this your experience rayday??

To be honest I have experienced the opposite in a year of running a DMP only about two companies have asked for a review, I don't do them every few months like CCCS I do them when I get a letter.

I don't get phone calls because my number has changed not sure if that is a reason.

To me personally the longer you are in a DMP the creditors seem more settled so don't ask for reviews as often.

Also you can use the national debthelpline website they have a budget sheet you can download and use which works out offered payments so its easy peasy really if you feel up to it!
  • Well every1 in my family, and friends thought I wouldnt be able to do it but its still there - 20 quid in my bedside cabinet, and im going to add to it again this week - not sure how much as Ive got my nieces birthday on the 5th october, and ds best friends birthday aswell this week, I also need to buy myself and ds a winter coat as I dont know what the weather is like where every1 else is but its bloomin freezing here!!! Im consoling myself with the fact that I need the coat rather than a want, as with ds aswell, so not too bothered really! Anyone heard anything on the job front??

I've still not been offered an interview for the school job, closing date was Monday just gone so that's okay except that I'm sure they said they'd pencilled in Monday 1st for interviews

If I'm honest, I don't think I can really afford the school job now anyways, I really need to earn more money so I'm secretly hoping they won't ring and offer me interview.

  • yeah u sed it would be less money anyway, and a syou say, you are looking for a pay increase so fair dos!

Im a bit worried as the job closes today, not sure how long they take to get in touch but i havent heard anything yet, i probably wont even get an interview me thinks. Oh well you win some you lose some!!

  • Cheers Rayday - fingers crossed then. I've used our latest CCCS budget sheet for the few who have just asked for one now, but I'll use that National Debtline site next time!

    Morning :D

Well I got a letter offering me an interview for the school job yesterday, interview is at 9.30am on Monday, the other interview for the other job is at 2pm  least I'll only have to sort out one lot of interview clothes :rotfl:

I got really upset last night as I really know I can't afford that school job and don't know if I should ring them to say that I can't go and tell them about the money thing so they know I'm not snubbing them for any other reason. I really really want that job :(

Other news, no money in the crimbo pot yet, but payday tomorrow so I will update my sig then :D

    GOOD LUCK NOG!!!! :D:D:D:D

    Thanks for the Primark tip!

    MM, heard anything yet?

  • morning nog n jo, thatnks for he tip about primark, but ive managed to dig out my winter coat from last year!! Its a big padded thing which surely cant help my side on profile as im fat enough as it is!! But, I do own a winter coat so tecnically i cany buy another 1!! I might treat myself later on in the year when ive losta bit more weight!! Regarding ds winter coat, Ive been informed that there is a nice warm padded winter jacket in next for 14 quid so i will pick that up tomorrow i think.
Good luck today nog, let us know how you get on. Jo, I would ring them, unless you are still considering it? I hate interviews and the thought of going to one unnecessarily makes me have heart failure!! But then again Im just a scaredy cat!! Nah I havent heard anything yet, but keeping everything crossed!!
