    Hiya, I'm here  :D

Well, really odd thing happened on Saturday morning....you know I am hoping to get an interview for the school secretary job and she said that they will probably be interviewing 1st Oct, the close date was yesterday so maybe I'll hear something over the next couple of days, anyway Saturday morning, the post arrived and there was a private & confidential letter from my local council, dreaded opening it cos I thought maybe they'd screwed up my council tax payments again but it was an invitation to attend an interview for a job that I'd applied for about 2 months ago and completely forgot - on 1st October! It's closer than the school job, I can get a bus directly from my house there and save on petrol as I don't pay fares cos DH is a bus inspector (blakey :D). Although it's a full-time job and I won't get the holidays like with the school job, it's about 7k a year more so will be far better for me financially. I won't be rushing around in the morning trying to get ready (she says....) and I should be home 2 hours earlier in the evenings. Plus it's more in my line of work as it's in a Planning Department and I already work in an Architects. So I shall keep you all posted.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you MM, hopefully you'll hear summat this week :D

Still no savings for crimbo :( although I get paid on Friday so will put something away :j

  • no nog u got it right the first time hun, the telly IS purely a luxury, and i will wait till after xmas now to get it coz i want to redecorate the living room in time for xmas anyway, so will keep the 800 target for now. I just meant i wish i didnt have to buy everything for every1 until after xmas, its a really good idea but i dont want to be labelled a scrooge!!

Joooooo!!!! Not heard from u in a while hun, have u had a chat with your neighbour about the kids? Thats fantastic news on the job interview, right thats just me now waiting to hear something!!
We should change the title to pesky new job hunt!!!!

  • Hey all

It's been ages since I've posted (well feels like it). Sadly work gets really busy during term time :(

Good luck to all with your job interviews; I've got everything crossed!

I have a quickie question for rayday (and anyone else who self manages a DMP). As you may remember I have just taken over running my DMP from the CCCS. Well having phoned all creditors etc to confirm and set up payments, my hubby finally phoned the CCCS today to tell them. They said that in their experience, the creditors would be ok with our payments now but would start phoning up etc asking us to increase payments 6 months down the line and said we could contact them for advice if that happened.

Having had a smooth 3 years on my DMP so far, I really don't want all that hassle of calls etc 6 months down the line. Is this your experience rayday??
