I have 3 new INs to report. I had an evening of weakness and purchased a new body shop shower gel - passion fruit scent. It smells divine!! I also signed up for my body shop membership again, paid the £5 and got a mini body shop hand cream too :). I also stopped by super drug and picked up a new hot pink lipstick for summer.. Possibly not necessary but it was such a lovely shade!

I have decided to go with both the carrot and the stick route. I Have a jar that I put money into every time I UU an item, I will keep this money for a treat for myself when I have enough saved or when my stash is down to a manageable size. However when I crack like I did this week and I buy something I don't need then I will take the money spent on unnecessary items back out of the jar. My little moment of weakness cost 50% of what was in my jar so I'm hoping that will teach me not to be so weak and to wait for when I really do need something!!

I also have another UU to report.
    9. Elizabeth Arden provocative woman shower gel.

Oh I love this idea! If you don't mind me asking, how much do you put in the jar when you uu an item? Because i can't decide, if I put in £5 i feel it would be too much? But if i put in £1 then that would be too little arrgh :(

Thanks Valm. I feel much better since I found this thread. Do you post the whole lot then on your list or just a few you have earmarked for UU this month?
I have had a UU tonight! Although I haven't done a list yet so not sure it counts:
Superdrug Lime and Coconut body butter. Smelt lovely to start off with but then the smell went a bit funny so had to keep it in the fridge. Nice texture and felt nice on my skin though. Would consider trying the others. They are 2 for £4 at the minute 😉 only joking I only just bought a load from the body shop before I found this thread so I'm not buying any more. Just need to decide which body cream to use next!

I used to list everything but now prefer to earmark 10 products for a project pan each month. It helps me to keep an eye on the stash still.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

    Hi Polkadotsandrainbows,

I actually have only been doing £1... It's not a lot BUT I do £1 no matter what size the item. So even if it's a serum sample with only 1 use in it :) I don't think I can afford to do anything more than that considering the size of my stash... I have a huge amount of sachets that only have - use in them too 😀

I think I will do a ten item project pan project each month as trying to look at my whole stash is too overwhelming! I also think the money in a jar idea sounds great. When I get destashed I just want to have a small collection of high quality cosmetics so the money can go towards that.

Firstly really well done on losing 6 stone, that's so impressive.

Thanks for this, you've taken a weight off my mind and saved me from the excuse of "needing" more creams to spend money needlessly. I have a body brush and don't use very often but this sounds like a really good reason to do so and I have a few body scrubs to UU too. Maybe when I run out I should buy some of those scrubby gloves to use with shower gel instead - I have a far bigger stockpile of that to UU than scrub. I do like a nice scrub for the oils they have in them to make your skin soft, but a good layer of body lotion after scrubbing is probably about the same if I am honest.

I am losing weight and think those body toning firming lotions are nonsense. I think exercising throughout your weight loss is the best thing you can do as well as just look after your skin generally. A personal trainer I spoke to says he thinks the problem is often people will lose lots of weight just through diet and then only think about exercise when they get thin. He was saying that exercise won't magically stop loose skin, but will ensure the muscles under the skin are toned which will look better.

    Hello

Just some quick UUs while I can still remember them!

Estee Lauder double wear sample - I do like double wear but it's a bit too much in the heat at the mo. Was wearing for a special occasion. WB
John Frieda smooth curl shampoo - I have the matching conditioner but if I use them both at the same it it seems to make my hair too heavy WBA
Nip and Fab instant leg smoother one of thos products which is basically one standard thing (a body moisturiser) and then they invented a problem so they could call it a different name and make you think you need it. I'm feeling a bit cynical today, can you tell? WNB
Crabtree and Evelyn pear and magnolia body cream 50ml - pleasant smell, went on nicely. WMBA but not that exciting.

I've been reading along with this thread all month, and I eventually got motivated enough last week to make myself a PP list, though just realised I can't count, as I've earmarked 11 items rather than 10! Doh

Everyone is so motivating, and I've now felt confident enough to post my PP list and officially declare my intention to get down my stash. I've already UU 5 of my PP items, though I have deliberately selected a lot of things that were already spluttering to keep my confidence up by getting in a flurry of UU right off the bat.

    Here is my PP List

    Project Pan July 2015

    • S&G Sugar Crush body wash 250ml
    • Vaseline Essential Moisture cocoa radiant body lotion
    • Tigi Sleek Mystique 750ml tween shampoo
    • Tigi Sleek Mystique 750ml tween conditioner
    • S&G The Scrub of Your Life body scrub 250ml
    • Crystal Clear Skincare intense anti-aging serum 30ml
    • Olay Essentials Gentle Face Scrub for normal to dry skin
    • Silk+Honey Shea Butter Hair Mask
    • Avon CC Cream- shell
    • Figs & Rouge Mango Mandarin Hand Cream with Shea Butter 20ml
    • Schwarzkopf Got To Be Guardian Angel Heat Protection Spray

The items I have UU are

    • The S&G sugar crush shower gel. WDBA. HG, love the fragrance
    • Vaseline essential moisture cocoa radiant body lotion- WMBA did the job, left skin soft, like the scent, but I have lots of body lotion, so in no rush for anymore!
    • S&G The scrub of your life body scrub- WMBA. Love S&G scrubs, but this isn't a particularly favourite scent out of all the range. Have replaced it with the breakfast smoothie scrub, smells of maple syrup, yum! First impression is not quite as scrubby though.
    • Figs & Rougue mandarin mango handcream. WDBA. Love the scent, and is light but moisturising. Got this in a beauty box ages ago I think, but the 30ml size is ideal to stick in my handbag, for when I'm out and about. Have replaced with a L'Occitane almond handcream in a travel size, again got in a beauty box!
    • Schwarzkopf guardian angel heat protection spray. WDBA- I absolutely loved this stuff and lasted me ages. Have plenty of other heat protection sprays to UU before I think about needing to purchase anymore though!

Some INs - all free to test :) St Tropez tanning lotion, polisher and tan maintainer. :)
Also a facial lotion but having read the instructions I'm not sure how to use it. It's oily, more like a cleanser but has to be used before serum and face cream. It says to apply with cotton wool pad or hands, not sure how the hand way will work, but will give it a try.

So badly need to have a clear out. I misplaced my diary 2 weeks ago and can't find it in my room as I've just got bags of unopened toiletries  lying about.
Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.

Question for you all - if any of you have lost a fair amount of weight, have you used any products to try to help avoid getting loose skin (e.g. firming body lotions), and if so was it effective and what did you use? I have started my weight loss journey (down about a stone so far but about 3 to go) and am a bit paranoid about ending up with saggy skin as I know other people it's happened to. However, I don't want to go crazy buying more toiletries if just keeping moisturized is likely to be enough, or if firming creams don't really make a difference.

You can easily exercise at home for firmness - lotions etc may help you but without exercise don't expect a miracle. Look up on google for "exercise programs for firmness" and you will be able to find many different movements.

Painted my nails Rimmel Salon Pro Soul Session. Not much left in this and honestly I think it is rubbish.

Ah, good, I am doing exercise - never really managed to lose weight without exercising. I think that's probably because I comfort eat when I am stressed and exercise makes me happier and counteracts stress so therefore makes me more likely to stick to a healthier eating regime.
