Hope you feel better soon - summer colds are the worst.

I tried the Garnier Micellar water the other day and I wasn't impressed either, it removed my face makeup but not my eye makeup and didn't touch my mascara.

Thanks, today I feel more human and am back in work. Spent all yesterday afternoon asleep which must have been what I really needed.

Think I may go back to the Simple eye make up remover that I used to love.

Sisley Reparatrice. Which is a HG and does what is says on the tub but has a ridonkulously expensive one, so I'm hoping some of the slightly less ridiculously expensive stuff in the stash will be equally good or better.

    Get well soon, VALM.

Thanks for the well wishes. I could not believe the price of the Reparatrice. I suppose though once you have worked through a pot you could calculate how much you would need to save each month to repurchase?

That doesn't sound good! I hope you are starting to feel a little better!! X

Last night proved quite successful. I have found something new to obsess over - creating my own lipsticks. I had so much fun melting them down and pouring them back into empty containers. Technically I haven't UU any yet but I have def gotten my stash down by combining a few. I will post them as UU's when I get to the end of my newly formed ones.

I also came to the realisation that I can wear pretty much any colour if I put enough time and effort into blending them. Some colours are just too vibrant though to bother trying (too time consuming) - I will never get to the end of some of these products using them that way and they are just not conservative enough for work or for everyday use.

They highly pigmented laura mercier ones however make amazing hair chalks. The colour pay off is fantastic and my hair is platinum blonde so they show up quite well. It sounds a little mad I do realise ... but I have a festival on this weekend that I am planning to use them for. Lavender and teal streaks it is :rotfl:

Thank you too. Glad to see you have found a way to repurpose your make up items.

This is a brilliant forum. I am desperate to stop unnecessary buying. I have 250 shower gels which is absolutely ridiculous. I have stopped but I started buying body butters now. I have about ten and really don't want to end up the same way! Please don't laugh at me but this is crazy!

This is so easily done though. I used to have a thing for shower gels. I think because they were not "considered purchases" I never batted an eyelid at putting another one in the basket (worst for picking these up at supermarkets) however it is when you take stock of the amount you have that you realise just how many baths/showers it will take to UU. You're in the right place though. x

I have another UU. Did UU it a few days ago but this week seems to have passed by in a fog:-

VS conditioner that came with hair colorant. Lovely stuff.

I actually remembered to use my Elemis serum yesterday too and my poor parched skin really drank it in. Must use some tonight too.

And it was Beauty Day yesterday on QVC and I was very good and did not buy anything!! Do admit to sitting there comatose watching a few shows though.

Welcome newbies - don't be ashamed, we've all been in the same position at one point and this is a great thread for motivation to get through the stash and make more considered purchases in future!

Pleased to hear VALM is on the road to recovery.

Brace yourself for a long update (sorry!)

I've had a run of UUs over the past week but no time to post them:

7-8/101-2. Tigi Catwalk Headshot Shampoo & Conditioner 750ml each - WBA, real LHJ but I enjoyed using these - left my hair feeling in good condition. Have another couple of conditioners stashed but have replaced with Control Freak for now.

9/103. Mark Hill Straightaholic Extreme Styling Spray 75ml - WMBA, didn't wow me but did the job.

10/104. Tigi Bed Head Peppermint Treat Me Right hair Mask 200ml - WMBA at the price I paid (£4/5) but others I prefer.

11/105. L'Occ Vanilla Bouquet Hand Cream 10ml - WNB, this was a freebie and was fine but the scent was a bit odd and I much prefer Kiehl's if I'm going to splash out on a hand cream.

12/106. Philosophy Raspberry Sorbet Shower Gel 180ml - this was a gift and I loved it but not sure I'd ever treat myself to such expensive shower gels unless on sale. No need to consider repurchasing for a while yet anyway, have plenty to get me through at least the rest of the year.

13/107. Elemis Pro-Collage Cleansing Balm 105g - sob! This was a (requested) gift and I loved it - feels very pampering applying it and it melts away my make-up. No need to replace just yet but in time I probably will - it's pricey but this pot lasted me about a year.

    Also sold:

1/12. Tigi catwalk Headshot Conditioner 750ml - I went a bit OTT recently and bought too many of these on sale, then didn't really have space to store them. Realisation of how long it would take to UU them all also set in... so sold.

    And INs:

1-3/70-2. Ralph Lauren Romance EDP 50ml and shower gel/lotion 100ml each - an eBay bargain. I have only one full size and (now - see below) two mini perfumes so it's not really unnecessary. I love this scent for day to day wear so couldn't resist.

4/73. Dior Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet EDT 1ml - freebie IN unexpectedly arrived yesterday, have had this before and quite liked it. Great for my upcoming travels.

5/74. C&E Tarocco Orange, Eucalyptus & Sage Hand Therapy 25g - survey freebie, smells gorgeous!

    Happy weekend lovelies! x

I've put on a metallic gray nailpolish (hardly, it was so sticky, gone off :( ) so i chucked it but can't update my inventory because it wasn't on the list :)

Also my mascara has gone weird, it's not dried but i think it's gone off, couldn't put it on properly for the life of me. It was maybelline volum express waterproof one and i could hardly ever find it, it might even be gone off when I've bought it so not gonna risk it. It wasn't on the list either so im not updating the list. But I'm throwing it out. This is my 3rd TA off the list.

I UU Olay Regenerist sample size. WPNBA - a bit greasy without soaking in well - though I do have another sample size in the stash.
I in. Rituals Hand Balm full size. HG. Lasts longer and more moisturising than L'Occ or TBS.
  • Dolly84. Thanks for that. You make me feel loads better! How many do you think you have?
  • Thanks Valm. I feel much better since I found this thread. Do you post the whole lot then on your list or just a few you have earmarked for UU this month?
I have had a UU tonight! Although I haven't done a list yet so not sure it counts:
Superdrug Lime and Coconut body butter. Smelt lovely to start off with but then the smell went a bit funny so had to keep it in the fridge. Nice texture and felt nice on my skin though. Would consider trying the others. They are 2 for £4 at the minute 😉 only joking I only just bought a load from the body shop before I found this thread so I'm not buying any more. Just need to decide which body cream to use next!
  • Hi ladies!

Not even posted once for July...real life getting in the way! I've tried to keep up with reading the thread as best I can even if i'm not posting.
Welcome to all the newbies, looks like we've got quite a few newcomers this month which is fab :T
Got a few ins and outs...TK Maxx getting the better of me again i'm afraid!
The yellow stickers came out and I just can't resist the yellow stickers at TK Maxx

    INS:
Pannier & Sens firming sea fennel body lotion - never heard of this brand before but it's paraben free and smells a bit like Elizabeth Arden sunflowers perfume.
Skinician luxe body lotion - again paraben free and like the lotion above was about £2 so a real bargain.
Dr Organic rose otto body lotion - not quite as nice as the Ren rose otto but if you're looking for a (much) cheaper version of the body lotion which smells similar this is a good bet!
Dr Organic virgin coconut body lotion - not quite sure what I think to this smell. It's not coconut smelling put it that way, smells very sweet, the only way I can describe it is when you're baking a sponge cake it smells sort of like the mix before you put it in the oven. haha bizarre i know but its the only way I can describe, certainly not unpleasant just a little strange.
    Garnier micellar water
    Vespa shower gel
    Louise Galvin conditioner
    Chanel !criture eyeliner in brown

    OUTS
Chanel !criture eyeliner in brown- WDBA and have repurchased as you can see above! I LOVE this eyeliner, goes on so easily and really pigmented. Can't do without this now...I really tried, thinking £28 was a lot to spend on eyeliner but I gave up after a week and a half of smudged eyeliner and impossible application and paid for it with Boots points.
Herbal Essences dazzling shine conditioner - WNBA - this did nothing for my hair, ended up using it on DS hair...he's now convinced that conditioner is an ESSENTIAL part of the hair washing process, he's 6 :rotfl:
Herbal Essences seductively straight shampoo - WBA - have got a few shampoos to use up first but this always makes my hair easier to manage so might be repurchasing fairly soon
Chanel gel moisturiser sample - didn't like this, was a sample from the counter when i brought my eyeliner. Was really sticky and not very moisturising...would expect more for the price!

I'm still battling on with a few splutterers so hopefully I can use them up by the end of the month.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend x

:rotfl:Can I laugh at you a little bit?!

When my mum died I found shower gels all over the house. It was insane. Luckily I found a homeless shelter that was willing to take a box. I do have a problem with shower gels and body lotions too. I have now allocated one shelf in my bathroom cupboard to them and am not allowed to buy any more when that is full.
  • I guess I will let you laugh at me a bit. I think it's just come from wanting to treat myself and they don't cost a lot, wanting to try new ones and forgetting I have the previous ones! I know it's a bit weird but I do have an anxiety disorder. I used to tell myself I wouldn't need to buy any for a while then bought more but I'm determined to stop now. I do it with other things though, books, nail polish, flavoured tea...😵
