The fact that they (Muslim countries) would want Western ways eradicated from their own country would suggest to me that having something forced upon an unwilling population should be enough of a hint that they don't want it and that we should actually listen, and just cut our losses and leave them with the countries in the mess that we have created. After all Syria is 90% Islam, Iraq 90%, Afghanistan 99%, Jordan 90%...

All for Colonialism? It's something we will just have to step back from for now. How many more innocent people will have to die for the greed of a few?

Except it is not a case of a local population hating the west and its ways, but of maniacs being nurtured by insane conditions created, at least in part, by western actions. Not to mention the long history of western (and Soviet) powers creating terrorist groups to damage their enemies, and then being surprised when these groups turn on their sponsors.

What is the point of arguing in this thread about the 'real or imagined' wrongs of 'the West and Russia'*

This is a thread about in the 'Overseas Holiday and Travel Planning' forum dealing with the 'real or imagined' threat to tourists in Tunisia.

    * Perhaps in another thread you can give us an example of a democratic Arab country and a justification for the policies of ISIS, Al Qaeda and the Taliban.

    Indeed.
It was started by a mum worried about the holiday her daughter had got booked.
She posted (on 1st July) that her daughter had got a full refund and had probably rebooked for somewhere else.

 Interesting that someone's assumed that everyone would have a spare £150 to pay for changing the holiday. For this single parent and two children the holiday represents a lot of budgeting, skimping and doing without for the last year. Besides without FCO warning the company were not having to refund.
However the good news is that (probably due to the exposure of Jet2s lack of action) Jet2 have now refunded this afternoon and once that appears back into the account, the family are able to catch what remains of equivalent all-inclusive holiday choices.
Many thanks to those of you who offered positive support.

I didn't mean any offense. I was simply trying to clarify the truthfulness to it. After all, lying about knowing victims would be just as bad IMO and doesn't help anything, and it isn't uncommon either when discussing large topics centred around acts of terror.

This event, whether real, staged or drilled, will incidentally build the premise for the Syrian invasion our countries have been keen to carry out for years. This has been in the books for a long time. U.S. General Wesley Clark said in 1999 "We’re going to take out seven countries in 5 years, starting with Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and, finishing off, Iran" so when these incidents occur with the culprit being conveniently housed in one of these countries, a lot of us have a hard time believing it.

I've seen pictures of lifeless children being pulled out of rubble, missing limbs and it isn't pretty. This is the reality of what will occur and if we cannot discuss these things, then the likelihood of the above happening again is almost guaranteed

Listened to the BBC interview recently returned holiday makers from Tunisia who did nothing but complain with such gems as:

'It was perfectly safe and there was no trouble'

'Why did Thomas Cook make us return, when we were happy to stay'

'Why have the Foreign Office suddenly changed their mind'.

Not a single interviewee seemed to appreciate the situation.

The photos on this DM link look very similar to many of the photos of the innocent victims that came back in a wooden box...

Have you been sleeping for the past 10 years? Our forces have 'illegally' invaded country after country for the past decade now. Afghanistan, Libya, Sudan, Syria, Somalia, Iraq (with over 1 million Iraqi's dead) with us funding, training and supporting ISIS and other terror groups to destabilize sovereign countries before we come in to the rescue and leave further destruction and death, all for securing resources that these countries refuse to just willingly hand over.

    Who is the real aggressor?

Saudi Arabia has a terrible human rights record, yet we all support this country because they bend over for us in oil. When you get into your mid 20's you'll start to waken up and see it for what it is

When I get into my mid 20's? That doesn't make any sense!
