Good evening turtles!
Thank you all for your kind words about DS1. I am really proud of how he's turning out to be. He says hi to all of you all the way from Italy! Their group arrived safely and are having a blast. DS1 is finding it a bit too hot but is trying to hydrate enough to avoid getting ill.
It's NSD 12/20 for me today. Last of my early shifts today, day off tomorrow then nights over the weekend. Back to the weird sleeping pattern or lack of it. My car is back from the garage and is as good as gold again and it came without extra ouches. The window screen replacement will be on Monday and garage said as long as we bring the car back within 10 days, we don't have to pay for another MOT. They only need to see that it has been done and they'll give it a clean bill of health. My colleague recommended a trusty garage her father knows the owner of, so for future repairs we know where to go without breaking the bank.
I also found out today that my mobile phone contract is about to end - I've got 40 days left. Because my mobile phone is still very good, I rang the provider this afternoon to find out what sim only plan they could offer me when my contract expires. It's a choice between £11/month with 200 minutes and 2GB internet data, or £16 with 600 minutes and 4GB of Internet data. I find this to be very cunning. They do know how to get their customers to spend spend spend. The former is too little and customers will be tempted to go over their limit or buy extras which will end up to be very costly, and the latter is much more than what I need. There's nothing in between for middle users like me. I did say to them, I will continue to look around to see if other providers can give me a plan that suits my needs better. My intention is to have a sim only plan, save what I would have paid for the line rental and unit package, so I could buy a mobile phone cash. I reckon I will save at least £600 that way.
OH and I have been watching the daily episodes of Right on The Money:Live and found some of the information very interesting. Today, OH and I put haggling to the test. As promised, I took OH bed window shopping. We went to a local independent bed shop and we were met by the friendly owner. We found the bed that we loved but unfortunately we couldn't buy it yet without knowing how much we will be paid at the end of the month. I put on my best charm offensive and voila, I managed to squeeze from the lovely owner free delivery (£30) and a headboard worth £139 for only £22. Bed frame, mattress (a very nice top end brand) headboard and delivery for only £600. (It would have cost as at least £1000 from the chain store or big department stores.) Everything is only agreed in principle of course. Can't wait for it to be paid for and delivered so my OH can stop being grumpy after many a sleepless night.
My migraine has evaporated but my dizziness is back with a vengeance. My BP is normal so I don't know what is causing the dizziness. I am sticking to the sit-down-relax-and-put-your-feet-up regime prescribed by my very own private nurse. I do hope this gets sorted soon.

bob the best and worst thing about my job is the variability. This time of year is lovely and quiet but a lot of the year is manic and I have to do lots of extra work at home, then again I get long holidays but I always need to work for part of the holidays.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

A SFD today and one for yesterday too. Strange day. I was determined to finish my book last night and fell asleep about 5am, so didn't wake until mid morning. DS3 had gone out. Finished the book, had a bath, paid a bill, went to the library and washed the towel, bathmat, sheets and a few bits.
Hoping for a few more SFDays as I am determined to clear the freezer. I have taken out a bag of casserole mix (carrots, turnip, swede, onions and leek) which I hope will form the bulk for both a veggie chilli and another batch of veggie curry. Had fish today with a few wedges (bought for DS3 but he hasn't had them) and sweetcorn (have finished off the peas and green beans) and yesterday I had a piece of fish with carrot and swede mash. I have enough of each to repeat both those meals.
I have been wanting scones so I made some and at the same time boiled six eggs (for breakfasts/ snacks maybe egg mayo), made a small pan of Mexican rice ( for salad) and five jellies using sugar free crystals and the last bag of frozen mixed berries (bought for Christmas). Have written a list of different things I can make with my limited ingredients and intend to last as long as possible. Menu may get very strange.
I need to make some money but for now, not going to spend any.
Today I am grateful for sweetcorn (not my favourite but it's going in everything at the moment), for DS3 being out all day (so restful) and for the garden (back yard) starting to come together (set up second set of plastic shelves yesterday and planted some dwarf bean seeds in plastic sacks). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Hi everyone!
Just a quick post from me. its DSs birthday today. Made his cake from scratch and it was a rather yummy chocolate cake. He wanted a chippy tea so we treated him. It's his party this weekend and I am getting frustrated at people not replying to invitations, so I don't know how many I need to cater for! anyway, it's been a lovely day today and we are all exhausted!0 -
Morning All
Well it's the end of another week. As it's been busy every day so far I wonder what today holds.
Managed a small PAD yesterday evening when I found a small amount available on my Top Cashback and rolled up the odds on my current account. So another £2 to CC2 which is looking pontipine tiny now. I have already decided to set my stretch target for August to completely clear it. I owe £446 on it as is.
Now my EF is complete that's £180 a month I can roll straight towards it. Unfortunately because the min payment on CC1 is high at £80 I can only roughly afford £20 as min payment to CC2. But the £180 is an extra. So that's £200 I can kill on in without looking around any further. And £246 for the stretch!
Have another party booked in for this weekend. So a christening to attend on saturday then a catered party for 12 on Sunday. The order was extended to cover a cake yesterday so that's good too I will allocate some of that towards repayment.
Hope you are all feeling good and looking forward to the weekend (even if part of it involves work)

Rounded down my bank account to add to the stretch fund this morning. Dyed my hair using just half the mix yesterday, so the rest will sort me out at the end of August.
Not expecting many NSDs while away, but very pleased with how many I have garnered thus far. I have a fixed amount to spend whilst away and any left over will be added to the fund. I'd happily not spend much but dd may have other ideas...!
Thank you for the happy holiday wishes xxNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
