Happy Sunday everyone!
I'm house-bound today as the 100-mile Surrey cycle ride is on & all the surrounding roads are closed!
Will spend the day relaxing, catching up on surveys, Ebay, having a clear out and sorting out the garden.
I went into town with mum yesterday & brought some more lettuce seeds and am giving growing beetroot a go! So in my garden I currently have sunflowers (which have finally flowered!), lettuce (which I am harvesting the last of & replacing with more lettuce), carrots (I'm harvesting the last of & replacing with beetroot), peppers, beans and courgettes. I love it!
I also brought 2 tops for work/interviews in Primark yesterday for £20.00 - not too bad! budgeted for this spend so it didn't eat into my moneypot.
Transferred some money into my savings too so it's slowly getting back to where it was before I paid off my card. It's strange how now that I've paid of my car, although I'm putting the same amount back into my savings, I feel less constrained with my money...?
A 1 bedroom end of terrace house went on sale in my area on Friday and I called the EA to make a viewing. They didn't have any this weekend so I'm calling them again tomorrow to make a viewing. Apparently they have been inundated - I actually believe them as it's a 1 bed end of terrace house (albeit in need of complete refurbishment), with a private back garden. It's going for £214,000 which in this area (KT12) is unheard of!
I'm hoping the state of it inside puts people offI'd love to get on the ladder with something like this - I have friends and my dad who could really help me out with this 'project', but I'm not holding out much hope. It will be snapped up quickly.
I find out if I got the job on Monday... Watch this space (if you're interested...)FTB House Deposit - £28,505.00 / £40,000 - 71.26%

Yay to your garden successes and the TV license success! They sent me £64 via BACS payment when I cancelled my license, couldn't believe my luck that month..
Was looking at houses in my area (KT22) in the estate agent windows yesterday, you're fine if you have 1.5mil and want a 5 bedroom house, there needs to be more suitable housing in this area for single occupants and couples!! Most people I know here are commuters in to London and want to buy a small starter home, there just aren't any!!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Morning everyone,
Sadly I did not get the job.. Onwards and upwards!
A bit disappointed, but there is always something betterThe feedback wasn't great (in the sense that I feel it wasn't very helpful as there was nothing I could improve on), but regarding me, it was great!
I'm going to complete my V2L Business Administration (Level 2) course, my first aid course and my PA/EA short course (which should probably take me just before Christmas to complete and then start re-applying again.
I can't really complain, I am lucky enough to have a steady job.
Going to view the house nearby today during my lunch break... Let's see how long this stays on the market for!FTB House Deposit - £28,505.00 / £40,000 - 71.26%
Emergency Savings - £750.00 / £5,000 - 15.00%

... Okay.
I'm not going to lie, I'm having an albeit rare, 'feeling-sorry-for-myself' & 'what's-the-point' afternoon.
I have returned from my lunch break - I went to view the local one bed end of terrace house. It was an open house. I was the only single party - everyone else was in couples.
I heard whispers of amounts being thrown about... none of which I could compete with.
I am a sole individual who has been saving for 10 years; since I got my first ever job at 16 sorting clothes.
I have always had two consistent main life aims: to own my own home and to have a family - running the risk of overshare; I've been told by doctors that I will find it very difficult, if not impossible to conceive due to medical reasons a few years back that were on-going throughout my teens and early twenties due to misdiagnosis.
I don't think these two things are such big asks?
After moving out of the flat I shared with my ex, if I'm being honest (& moany, I know - I'm sorry!) I feel a bit hard done by.
I can't compete with offers on homes made by a two-income family.
I feel like I'm saving so hard, never to get anywhere.
Does anyone else ever feel the same, or is it just me feeling sorry for myself and should I just carry on saving?FTB House Deposit - £28,505.00 / £40,000 - 71.26%

I was going to post on here earlier but seem to be having problems logging on.
You are only human petal. It is natural to feel down sometimes. I went to work today and they were all talking about lovely glamorous holidays they'd been on with their families. I just thought I don't have a family I am an old maid and I always will be and I don't have a cat in hell's chance of affording a lovely cruise or a trip to America.
When I log on I think of all the fab people who are doing something positive. You are one of the inspiring ones that keeps me going. You might be down now but you are sooo close to buying a house. Some of those people are in loads of debt or probably have problems we know nothing about. Look at the famous rugby player (in Daily Fail newspaper) who has upset his family with an alleged affair. He used to be a hero and we all thought he was perfect.
Read the Frugal Queen website on google. She saved from scratch and now it is has fallen into shape. She is so happy and is on an amazing holiday but didn't have a haircut or go to the cinema for years. It takes time to achieve this. Our beginning is someone else's end (they may have scrimped for years) we are all at different stages of a journey- that's what Skint Dad (on google) said - another fab website you should look at.
Ages ago when my friend and heroine Firewalker was on here she was down one day. (Now she is one of the top money making bloggers there is in the UK and internationally too) I posted this on her thread a while ago I hope it helps.
NB taken from Wikipedia:
Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.“

Gosh I do ramble. Yes keep saving missus or we will all give up too!!!!!
Oh yes and it doesn't matter that you didn't get the job as they were too stupid to see how fab you are. The right employer will come along and it will all fall into place. You will see.
Now go and have a cake and a cup of tea and watch some tv.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -

So we get more and more similar by the day! I found out a month ago I am infertile and I have a tumour in my brain that is causing havoc amongst my hormone levels. I too have moments where I get really cross because I want to have a family in my 30's rather than my 20's and Dr's told me I will only be able to get hormone therapy in my late 20's and it's unlikely to work anyway. Big big cuddles for you! I do have moments like you do when I get really down and I have days where I ask people not to send me photos of babies etc. as it gets me down.
Secondly.... I like to try and remind myself once a day 'you cannot take it with you'. I also really want to own a home but sometimes it's good to remember than when you pass away (i know this sounds so morbid but it's really true) you cannot take your money or your house with you - instead you leave behind memories with your friends and family. So try and breath and give yourself some space, you've done fantastically well, most people our age are in debt, myself included and you've got huge savings for a house deposit already, you're already ahead of the game so give yourself credit! This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
